I have a white stage and my background is non-solid/non-uniform. My flash project will be my whole website, therefore when a browser window is larger than my stage, the stage color (white) shows in the background. Its basically a white border on the left and right. I wish I could continue my background image to cover the whole browser window. What I want to do is: if needed (if the browser window is larger than my stage) continue my background on both sides by taking a copy of my background image, flipping it horizontally, and placing it on both sides of my background. If you can imagine it, this will give a more uniform continuation of the background. I'm guessing actionscript would be the best bet?
View 2 RepliesAs you resize your browser window the background image resize proportionally. The content on the page does not resize however, it stays fixed. Also when you reach a certian size the background stops adjusting and the browser give you scroll bars.

I've created a flash website at 960X600 pixels.I have a JPG image that I want to use a BG to fill the browser page.I can edit the index.html file. Should it be inserted there? the name of the BG is bg.jpg
View 6 RepliesI want to create a website in flash for which i want to use the bg in flash to fit on 100% of width and height of browser in which it is opened (according to screen resolution) but want the content and other things used remain in same layout (they should not stretch) and remain in the middle area of the browser, like you see mostly a html page have a bg image which is set to fill 100% of width and height of the page.
is it possible with flash, i dont want to use bg image of html page (body tag background image)

I've got one main SWF loading other SWF files and these need to run a php script. I'm nearly there, but need the php to run in the background without opening up another browser window.

As you can see, it basically just controls the position of the elements of the site (logo and gallery), and makes the background (square) stretch to fill the browser window. what's the equivalent code in AS2?
I found this really neat photo gallery on flashkit but there is no support or readme included. Hoping one of you actionscript gurus can sort through the AS and how to size this thing.. the AS code does have comments but I am not a coder. I'd like to make the image window smaller and the overall movie smaller. 325x325 or so.
View 10 RepliesI'm making my own website on flash cs4 and I really like websites with backgrounds that don't have borders, they just have an image or a design or both that fit the whole inside of the browser window like this website, [URL] is there a way to accomplish this in flash cs4? I know that you can edit the borders in the html embed code for the .swf but even if you put 0px for all the borders, if I go on another computer with different resolution settings or a computer with a bigger monitor and a bigger browser window, borders are still present around the .swf.

I need it to automatically resize according the to viewers browser size. How do I do this? From what I've seen online, it involves possibly putting everything in a movieclip, which I can do, I just don't know how to proceed from there.

i have 2 fields and if these fields arn't filled in and the user hits submit i need a popup window to appear and just say "sorry you must complete the form to continue"yet when i try this it just keeps going to the next frame instead of showing the popup menu :S:SThis code is on my submit button here is my code so far:

I have been trying to work out how the full-browser background was done here: [URL] It scales in a very elegant way: it never stretches the image, stays centered on the image and never causes ugly blank areas around the image. For me, it's become deceptively difficult to achieve! :-(
View 1 RepliesI am creating a website where the entire background is tiled and it also contains a photo gallery. Now, the photo gallery has to only appear within a limited height but the width could be similar to the browser window. (The website will be a full browser website with a capability of going fullscreen.). I tried a lot of things but the stage calculation requires to be a little different than the general stage properties.
In general, the height and width of the image is directly proportional to those of the stage. But what I am looking at is for the image to be rescaled proportionally to the width of the stage but the height nneds to be about 20-30% less than the height of the actual stage. Basically the background will be visible in that 20-30% of empty space. (And of course other elements)
My scaling of the image code looks like following,

And it also centers the image on the stage based on the new stage size.
Currently I have link on an HTML page, and when the link is clicked, it opens a flash movie with slideshow and a semi transparent black background. The way I have it set up is as follows
CloseButton.as (the close button for the slideshow)
FullBackground.as (the black background)
MainContent.as (loads the slideshow)
then I have
main.fla (loads the CloseBtn, FullBG, and MainContent)
preloader.fla (loads the main.fla .swf)
i have a background that resizes with the window (without stretching) and my image has a nice resolution. But when i resize it, it seems low in quality.

I want the user to be able to print or save the image. I can use the following code to print the image but flex does not provide good control over printing across multiple pages

View 2 RepliesI am trying to put a flash background on my website that will loop over and over.I created the file in after effects but understand that it is best to export to flash to keep file size down.I have tried exporting from after affects using F4L, FLV, and XFL and always seem to get a file size of 2-4 MB.My video is only 8 seconds long and I exported at half resolution so I am unsure why it is so largeWhen I import F4L and FLV to flash and then export as an SWF file, the file does not work on my website(nothing shows). It seems to only work when I import as an XFL and then export as an SWF.Also, how do I get the video to loop? Do I do this in flash or in the object tags in my website
