i.e
there is a main movie called main.swf and there is an external movie that has about 15 frames and its called movie.swf I added a button to a main.swf so when its pressed it loads that external movie.swf so my question is: how do i load a specifc frame of that movie.swf

Jul 27, 2011I have a main swf that loads 2 external swfs. I click on button to see content of external swf #1 and see stuff. I do something that causes external swf to show other stuff (i.e. not at beginning state)
In the main swf I click on button to see content of external swf #2. External swf #1 content is made invisible and I see content of external swf stuff. NOW, if I click on button to take me back to see external swf #1, I see it's content in current state. I want to force it to start over again at frame #1 which will reset content.
However, no matter what I try, I can't seem to control which frame to go to in external swf using gotoAndplay.

Sep 13, 2009I have two flash files, say a.swf and b.swf.a.swf is the main swf file, embedded in an HTML page for a webpage. There is a preloader in a.swf too. In b.swf, when I click a specific button I need to load a.swf, but not from the preloader, from the content. To be precise, the content starts from Frame 24 of a.swf (obviously Preloader ends in Frame 23). I believe, the frame 24 has to be loaded in a.swf when I click the button in b.swf.

I need to load an external movie file into the root of my main movie, so it replaces the main movie, and when it loads, it loads at a specific frame (or label)of that newly loaded movie.
Explanation: My main movie, lets call it "Main.swf", has a button which is part of a drop down (tree) list. When you click on the button, I want to load my second movie called "bearings.swf", and to immediately go to frame #2 of the "bearings.swf" movie.

Apr 30, 2003I am creating a full site in flash. The main movie has an empty movie clip in the middle of the movie to load external movies as the user clicks on the links. Everything has worked good so far as the linking has only gone 1 level deep. However, when I created a new external movie, and had buttons on it for another external page, but yet to open in the main movie, I can't get anything to work. Example.... In the main movie, the user clicks on the archive link, and the external archive movie is loaded into the main movie. Now, on this archive movie, there is a button on it that links to a another movie (say text effects.swf). However, when they click this button for text effects, I can't get it to load into the main movie clip and replace the archive movie that was currenlty there.

If I`m in the external .swf, there is a button too, to get back (back) to the mainmovie. Now what I wanted to do is, go back from the external .swf to the Main.swf to its Frame Nr.5, when i press the button "back". With that Code below I can only get to the mainmovie 1.Frame (its Home).

Jan 5, 2005I am a bit new to the world of externally loaded swf's. I am trying to load an swf into my main movie, and then access/control the movieclips within that newly loaded swf, but for some reason it is not working.
Here is a quick example:

Okay this code does sucessfully create the movieclip but my onRollOver function does not work, and I cannot access any of the movieClips within myMovieClip_mc such as option, it traces out as undefined.

Dec 30, 2008I have attached two pictures. Basically I am making a website. The main navigation loads in external swf's through a container movie. For this I have used this tutorial : [URL]. What I want to do is- when you rollover the navigation bar, be it the text or the coloured block- I want it to scroll down and reveal the 'sub navigation'. (pic2) It's like a drop down menu but kind of the other way around. Then, when you either rolloff of the navigation bar or click on a menu button, it slides back up to its original state. (Pic1). I have played around and only managed a sloppy version which doesn't work very well, especially when you resize. I think a simple answer to this is if I could get my buttons to work inside a movie clip. I had tried this but then the swfs wouldn't load properly.

Feb 2, 2010I'm having a some trouble with loading an SWF into my main SWF. I have found multiple ways of doing it, but I want to find the most appropriate way for what I'm doing.
Here's what I'm doing:
I have a main SWF with 4 frames. I want to click two buttons that will then load two SWF into frame 2 and frame 3. Below is the script I wrote for the buttons. The earlywork_btn needs to load RColeman_EarlyWork.swf into frame 2. This swf is a slide show. The currentwork_btn needs to load RColemna_CurrentWork.swf into frame 3.
I'm not sure which scripts to use to load the SWF's and how to arrange it in the ActionScript panel.

Nov 9, 2009I made a flash website and had one page load an external swf.
In this external .swf are thumbnails that link to another page (frame) all within the external swf. when you go to these pages there is a 'back' link which links back to the main external swf frame.
My problem is this: let's say i click a thumbnail in the external swf and it goes to the respective thumbnail page, and then i dont click the 'back' button but instead click another link of the main flash website - then i go back to the page that loads the external swf and instead of going to the main frame of the external swf it stays at the page i was previously on.
How do I get the link on the main flash website which loads the external .swf to always load on the first frame of the external swf?[code]...
