ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading A External Swf Then Go To A Specific Frame?
Sep 24, 2009
I'm made a dropdown menu and i have resolved the navigation for the main buttons, but i have problems with the menu sub buttons , my question is: After the movie is loaded, how can i make the sub button go to specific frame. This is the script:
I have two flash files, say a.swf and b.swf.a.swf is the main swf file, embedded in an HTML page for a webpage. There is a preloader in a.swf too. In b.swf, when I click a specific button I need to load a.swf, but not from the preloader, from the content. To be precise, the content starts from Frame 24 of a.swf (obviously Preloader ends in Frame 23). I believe, the frame 24 has to be loaded in a.swf when I click the button in b.swf.
I have a main movie which loads various external SWF's. What I would like to achieve is that when returning to the main movie (using URLRequest & Loader class) that the main movie starts at specific frame.[code]I believe that the way global variables work in AS3 is very different. Is it true that I need to achieve this via an external class ?
Using AS3 how can you load an external swf file at a specific frame of the newly loaded swf file.Using the AS3 loader class I have no problem loading an external image or swf movie onto the stage.But what I want to do is when the swf is loaded, go to the second frame (labeled "two") of that loaded swf.
For example, My main movie "main.swf" is blank.My external movie "loadMe.swf" has a circle on frame one and a square on frame 2.On the main movie (main.swf) is a button and when you click on it I want the square on frame two of "loadMe.swf" to appear.
I'm having a some trouble with loading an SWF into my main SWF. I have found multiple ways of doing it, but I want to find the most appropriate way for what I'm doing.
Here's what I'm doing:
I have a main SWF with 4 frames. I want to click two buttons that will then load two SWF into frame 2 and frame 3. Below is the script I wrote for the buttons. The earlywork_btn needs to load RColeman_EarlyWork.swf into frame 2. This swf is a slide show. The currentwork_btn needs to load RColemna_CurrentWork.swf into frame 3.
I'm not sure which scripts to use to load the SWF's and how to arrange it in the ActionScript panel.
ActionScript Code: // stop(); function onbiographybuttonClick(evt:MouseEvent):void {
The webpage I am working in is one move. I want to be able though to create an html file that will start the document from a certian frame (not from the beginning). How do i do this without breaking up the whole flash file.
I made a flash website and had one page load an external swf.
In this external .swf are thumbnails that link to another page (frame) all within the external swf. when you go to these pages there is a 'back' link which links back to the main external swf frame.
My problem is this: let's say i click a thumbnail in the external swf and it goes to the respective thumbnail page, and then i dont click the 'back' button but instead click another link of the main flash website - then i go back to the page that loads the external swf and instead of going to the main frame of the external swf it stays at the page i was previously on.
How do I get the link on the main flash website which loads the external .swf to always load on the first frame of the external swf?[code]...
I've got another little hitch that I've come accross in the project that I'm currently assembling. From time to time I need to load swf files at specific frames & seem to have hit a brick wall.
[code]...
It loads the right swf, but at frame 1, when I want tp load it at frame 18
Is it possible to load in a movie to a specific frame? I am currently loading a movie from a button with: on (release) { unloadMovieNum(1); loadMovienum("Is.swf",0); }
This works perfect, but I'd like to add usability by directing the button to a specific frame within that new movie. I've tried: _level0.gotoAndPlay(10); After loadMovienum in the previous code but it doesn't do anything different. The movie always starts up on frame 1. In the end I'd like to have multiple buttons serving as navigation buttons specifying different frames of the new movie.

dont know how to load a dinamic text in a text_MC, but make it apear only in the midframe of the background mc...i have a dropdown menu who loads the BG's to the container_MC in the main timeline (its a movieclip too) who has the following code in the button:
on (release) { if (_root.currMovie == undefined) { _root.currMovie = "bg2"; _root.contentor.loadMovie("bg2.swf");
[code]...
i know this second part is wrong, but its the best i could do :S how do i make it unload the preview text, and load a new one when the bg finishes the intro animation (gets to the midframe)?[URL]

How do I get the link on the main flash website which loads the external .swf to always load on the first frame of the external swf?
This is my code for the page that loads the external .swf
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("branding.swf"); var loader:Loader = new Loader(); loader.load(request); loader.x = 0;
I am doing a presentation in flash in movie languages I have 7 buttons when some body click button 1 it should go to a new movie called animate frame number 2 when some body click button 2 in movie language it should go to movie animate frame 6 if people click button 3 in language movie it should play movie animate frame 11 like that for all 7 buttons I have used the following code but its always going and stopping at frame number 1 in animate movie
Here is the code: button 2 on (release) { unloadMovie loadMovieNum ("animate.swf", 6); } button 3 on (release) { unloadMovie loadMovieNum ("animate.swf", 11); }
I have a main movie that loads about 30 external swf's, so i have a button which after its pressed it loads an external swf and a specific frame,
i.e
there is a main movie called main.swf and there is an external movie that has about 15 frames and its called movie.swf I added a button to a main.swf so when its pressed it loads that external movie.swf so my question is: how do i load a specifc frame of that movie.swf
I have a main swf that loads 2 external swfs. I click on button to see content of external swf #1 and see stuff. I do something that causes external swf to show other stuff (i.e. not at beginning state)
In the main swf I click on button to see content of external swf #2. External swf #1 content is made invisible and I see content of external swf stuff. NOW, if I click on button to take me back to see external swf #1, I see it's content in current state. I want to force it to start over again at frame #1 which will reset content.
However, no matter what I try, I can't seem to control which frame to go to in external swf using gotoAndplay.
I'm making a training video and right now I have a container swf that loads external swf's In the container swf there is about 3 frames in the beginning and on the fourth frame you choose the section you want to go to next. The sections are just external swf's. To load the section / external swf I'm using:
I'm trying to access a specific frame label in an externally loaded swf. I have the external swf loading, but I'm not sure how to access the specific frame label after release. This is an example of the code on my external swf timeline:
I have menu.swf which loads an external SWF (longmenu.swf)longmenu.swf has a long background on stage, which scrolls according to what the user clicks. It works fine on it's own with tweenLite. But what i need to do is to have menu.swf controls to which part of the background it scrolls or appears at once an item on menu.swf is clicked.
I need to load an external movie file into the root of my main movie, so it replaces the main movie, and when it loads, it loads at a specific frame (or label)of that newly loaded movie.
Explanation: My main movie, lets call it "Main.swf", has a button which is part of a drop down (tree) list. When you click on the button, I want to load my second movie called "bearings.swf", and to immediately go to frame #2 of the "bearings.swf" movie.
i will send newsletter to client via emailclient clicks on image or link and it will open a specific frame in swfi know we can jump specific frame in html if swf is embed in same htmlbut i am looking for external swf in html to be played on specific frame.
The title of my main file is "Gabriel96.fla". Inside this file I have a movie clip called "home movie". Inside this movie clip i have a button called "Symbol 32". Once this button gets clicked, I'd like it to go to frame "joe" which is inside a movie clip called "porrtfolio", which inside a separate file called "portfolio55.swf".
