ActionScript 2.0 :: Main.swf And A Page.swf Loading Into It?
Jul 17, 2007
I'm in need of some help with a path - should be quite a simple one, Im just a bit confused. I have a main.swf and a page.swf loading into it. In the page.swf there is a text scroller as in this file example. So the main.swf loads the page.swf with the scroller but the text wont scroll when loaded in the main.swf. Im thinking its a path issue and I think the problem code is on the button...
I am working on my first Flash project with AS3.The structure of the flash site is pretty simple. I have a stage 1165px wide x 710px height Inside my Stage I have an horizontal bar with a menu followed by a container right under.
is that whenever I click on one of the button on the menu, that the related external .SWF loads into the container with a preloading bar and %. I already did all my .SWF files.
It's my understanding that view states can be useful when switching the layout of design elements. Such as, a loading page as one state and the main application design in another state. Is this the correct use of them? Additionally, I have a label in State1 and I cannot figure out how to access that label via actionscript. labelID.text = "New Text"; is not working.
I added a website preloader in a separate scene to the main frame of my website and scripted it to go to and Play the main scene or frame of the website when finished loading. I then put a command in the first frame of the main scene for the movie to stop (); at that point. The problem is that now the buttons on the main page don't respond to any behaviour commands to go to and stop at other frames in the main scene. I'm not sure if this is a conflict between the stop(); command in the main scene and the button behaviour command to go to and stop at another frame or an error with the way I'm identifying the scene and frame.
I have a movie clip that loads in the main timeline, when i click on any of my buttons theres a quick flash of the main page. Im loading my movies on level 1 so i guess my question is, how do i get rid of the movie on the main time line?
I am trying to load an external swf with a number of quotes into an empty movie clip on the home page. then I want it to obviously disappear when nav to any other page.
1) know that you need a loaderEmpty_mc to load the swf into
2) don't know code for how to get it to load on entering the home page
3) don't know how to cdde for leaving the home page and making it disappear
I have an invisible movie clip I want to go to the NEXT page, as it goes to that page, I want it to essentially remove itself (page1.swf). e.g. page1.swf (contains fancy.swf - [AS2], 4 images, several invisible MCs with code) has an invisible MC + on click = remove page1.swf.
To be clear, this does work. It goes to page2.swf and page2.swf goes to page1.swf as it should. The issue is that if the user repeatedly does this (just 2 or 3 times) the fancy.swf becomes impossible to control and Flash (CS5) crashes. I think this is due to the fact it's not unloading the entire thing, it's only unloading fancy.swf on click (I hope). So underneath page2.swf is page1.swf, and when the user clicks back to page1.swf, page2.swf AND page1.swf are underneath that, and so on and so forth.
how to activate the animation that removes the previous page items before loading new page when you click on a menu button. like this website [URL] When you click on a menu button, current items are removed with nice animation before new items appears.
The test site is this. Its the main flash panel at the top of the page! It should look how it does in firefox! I am not very good on flash so please dont dont fire some crazy code at me, go easy lol
I have a main swf file called index.swf and 3 games files called game1.swf game2.swf and game3.swf respectively.The main.swf is done is AS2 while the games are in AS3.I have 3 buttons on the main.swf,each will load the game out on a new layer...this is the code I used... btn1.onRelease = function(){
it didn't work. Apparently this code doesn't function in AS3.All the games are in a subcontent folder.Index file will call them out on a new layer...and the back button in those games must be able to go back to the index.swf.
I am working on one project which have 7 links. HOME:TRAINING: WEBSHOPERODUCTS: CONTACTS: SERVICE. all this pages are in one movieclip called PAG with appropriate names to moviclip and frames.I am having problem with Home page i hv some icons which shld take user to links. but its not working .and same link works fine with training page.the link in training page is :
on (press, release) { _root.pag.training.gotoAndStop("t2"); }

I am developing a web page at the moment using Flash CS3 AS2.0, and I have developed like a title header that has some flash animation. I want to be able to place that title header into the main page that I have created. I can not for the sake of it, get this external swf to place into my main page.[code]I have created a spot for the swf on my main page and even set it to act as a movie clip. I will upload the files so you may take a look at the coding.UrL...This is the online file folder where the 4 files are located.Index.fla is the main page, and index.swf is the output top.swf is the the external movie clip i want to add to index.fla at the top.top annimation.fla is the actual working file.
scrollpan with the news on the main page? I have tried tons of things, but haven't gotten something I want..I have made something just now that works like that, except the text doesn't work completely...Basically, I have a bounding box with a mask over the test I want... Code I use (and this is applied to an MC with the whole "container" pan")
My problem is basically I place my content box in the mask and it will start the whole thing at half way... the box will scroll and everything works. it's just that the content starts half way, so half the box will be empty towards the bottom.
I have designing my website with Dreamweaver and am wondering how exactly I can make a non-interactive slideshow for my main page, preferably in Flash or Fireworks. I want the slideshow to begin each time the main page is loaded. I have been using Simple viewer to make my galleries because I don't know html, I'm a photojournalism major and happened to get the entire cs4 suite with my macbook. I'd like to learn to put more than PS and Indesign to good use.
My problem is that I have a moveiclip (called "clip") and I have other movieclips on that stage that are "branches", and those branches are made up of branch parts. These branch parts are in a movieclip called (branchpart) and some of these have been placed on the branch stage. When I am on the clip stage and I try to get the location branch[i].branchpart[j].x and ranch[i].branchpart[j].y,this location is given in the coordinates of the branch stage, not the clip stage. These branch parts are being moved in complex ways with respect to one another, so I am hoping that I can simply access the location on the clip stage of a single part without having to deconstruct the whole branch.
I have 12 movie clip buttons on the main page (3 rows of 4 buttons).When a button is pressed,it gives the answer to a question which remains visible.On this answer screen, there is another button to click for further information. I pointed to this button to go to another frame within the same movieclip (containing the further information).However, this "further information" shows up UNDERNEATH the 12 buttons, and you can't read it.
I'm about 10 hours deep into getting an external swf to be loaded on a page in my main timeline. I've gotten as far as loading the external swf (within the first few hours) hahah but now, have spent twice as long trying to get the external swf to be removed when a person navigates to a different page of my main timeline.
I have a videoplayer on one frame which is my "video" page. I've gotten the external swf to load two different ways, for example, the latest code i am using to load the external is below and seems so nice, clean and simple:
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("VideoPlaylist_HV.swf"); var loader:Loader = new Loader() loader.load(request); addChild(loader); loader.x = 180 loader.y = 50
But I would like to add a function that says on any mouse click event (navigation) close the swf that is loaded.
If any of you genius people out there can help me, please do. I thought getting it to load was going to be the hard part but I was wrong. I am very discouraged by Actionscript in general.
download what i have so far, i left alot of the content out so the file size isn't big. And yes, i am sure once you see how I work you will be sure that I am no flash expert. I can send a link to the .flas, the site won't allow me to post the link as I am new.
i am making a full flash site in MX and i need to know how to make a preolader so that it loads the main page (alone)...then loads the next page when the button is clicked on...i want it so that all my pages dont load at once, only if they are clicked on..
here is my script.[code]the link opens up fine...but it opens up a tab in firefox that displays the following text."[object Window]"in internet explorer it gives me the error. and won't open the window.internet explorer cannot download.unspecified error.URL...
I have a flash item on my website and I have Flash Professional CS3 software. On the main index page I need to remove a printed name and replace it with a logo. Is it possible, I can find directions on how to do it?
I have two external swf files which I need to load to the main page of the website, one is the about page which consist mostly of text, the other is an image gallery.Both of them have the same intro animation at the beginning.
My problem is, while testing the main page using bandwidth profiler, the about page loads beautifully, while the image gallery plays its animation first before it even finalizes to load the whole page.
I have a home page in that their are 4 buttons which lead to 4 different pages, I essentially need mine to be able to click on a button and then have it go to that page, oh and Im working with Flash CS4 in AS3
I'm loading from my main page an external js file, with a function.
I have a flash file in the main page invoking the javascript function.
Everything worked very well until when the javascript code was in the main file, but when I moved javascript to an external file the function seems not called anymore.
So... there is no way to move the javascript code to an external file ? Or any other solution ?
I would like to scroll a movie clip (my main page itself actually). If I put my mouse to the left it scrolls right, to the right it scrolls left, up it scrolls down, down it scrolls up... seen it on so many pages, still can't find any code for it.
I have a website, basic overview. I have my main movie, which contains the logo and navigation. I have a blank movieclip created with actionscript that loads the individual movie swf files. That works fine. What I want to do is dynamically have the main navigation buttons' text indicate what page you the user is on. Right now the code is on each button instance, example:
Each button has the same code, just pointing to their respective pages. Here is the code in the first frame for setCurrentMarker()n function: var aMenu = new Array(home, jschaer, work, contact); function setCurrentMarker(){ for(i=0; i<= (_root.aMenu.length-1); i++){ if(_root.aMenu[i] == pageHolder){ [Code] .....
So the variable aMenu holds the moveclip names of the buttons. PageHolder holds the the name of the current page that is loaded. Thats how I change the pages to be loaded. To explain, if you look at the button code, the text for each button is by default greay and when you rollover it becomes black and off and it becomes gray again. That is on the first frame.
On the second frame the text is black. In the code I tried to make the black dynamically, but it didn't work, so I settled for going to the second frame and stopping. How do you get those little scroll boxes where you can put code. I guess its preference, but is it generally good to put the code on each instance of a button or put in in the main frame where your code lies. Is there any benefit either way?
I have a home page and five other pages. The five pages have a main menu at the top containing buttons that allow you to go to the other pages:
on(release){ gotoAndPlay("gallery"); }
I have an actions layer. Each section has the following action in the first frame: stop(); When I view the website the home page works correctly. However, any page with the main menu automatically switches to the next page after about six seconds. The code seems pretty straightforward so I have no idea what I'm missing.
I have my mp3 audio clip and made my play and stop button. I am using cs4 and as3. I want to have the play and stop button on my main page but still have the music play when the users clicks onto one of the buttons which takes them to a new page.
