How To Make Intro Slideshows For Main Page Of Website
Aug 18, 2009
I have designing my website with Dreamweaver and am wondering how exactly I can make a non-interactive slideshow for my main page, preferably in Flash or Fireworks. I want the slideshow to begin each time the main page is loaded. I have been using Simple viewer to make my galleries because I don't know html, I'm a photojournalism major and happened to get the entire cs4 suite with my macbook. I'd like to learn to put more than PS and Indesign to good use.
So I am doing a flash intro page, but the intro becomes the home page, as in all the pieces come together to create the Flash home page, so that there is just one file for the home page that includes the intro from Flash..how do I make it so that all the parts on the page stay there indefinitely, because right now after a certain amount of time, they disappear due to using the timeline in Flash.
Though many people before me have asked the same or similar question, I can't find any satisfying answer in these discussions. Note that I'm quite new to working with Flash.
I have made an intro with Adobe Flash using ActionScript 2.0. This intro consists of 82 frames. I want to play my intro once to people visiting my website and subsequently (when the visitor of my site sees frame 82) the browser has to be send to the real mainpage of my site. I already know how to import flash to my site and to name it index.html or index.php and so on.
I just need to know how to create this intro playing once and redirecting to another page and predominantly which codes I'll have to type in my Actions-window (F9).
I'm relatively new to Flash and AS3. I've created a website thats a dynamic photo gallery. The site is self-contained (no scrolbars) and I want the frame work of the gallery to draw itself in as the page loads. The frame work is just simple lines and drawing objects on the maintimeline. Do i combine the lines (the "frame work") into a mc and then somehow use the deco tool? How can I acheive this in action script?
I want to know how can I make like this sliding menu, and also the intro of the website (likes a papers or book) and flower background (growing). [URL]
I have a movie clip that I imported into flash, used a skin and have a nice little player for this website intro. I want to proceed to the sites home page upon completion of the movie. Searched but the best I could come up with was;
What I want to build is a photography site using flash for the thumbnail pages and slideshow, but have the navigation buttons their own separate flash entities. Can these separate flash button entities influence the thumbnail flash entity? The purpose of the multiple flash entities is so that I can embed it in my html and use css to position them so that it stretches or shrinks to fit a browser window depending on screen size. Or is that a bad idea?
I have two external swf files which I need to load to the main page of the website, one is the about page which consist mostly of text, the other is an image gallery. Both of them have the same intro animation at the beginning.
My problem is, while testing the main page using bandwidth profiler, the about page loads beautifully, while the image gallery plays its animation first before it even finalizes to load the whole page.
I am new to flash and trying to make a simple flash website video intro in Flash CS5 Pro.I have a flv viedo on the stage, under an image with a trasnparent center.I have the video on the bottom layer, the overlay image on the middle layer, and the top layer is my AS layer (AS3).
The video is currently autoplaying when i export. All i want is for it to open my website in the same window as the intro played when the video ends.I dont need a "skip intro button" or anything.I just want it to play the intro when you go to my site, and then bring up the index page of my site after it plays.
I am making a website purely on flash (actionscript 2.0), for a school project, and I have set up one frame for each page. I also made a drop down menu, but unfortuantely I can't link them to the actual pages, since the drop down menu is a movie clip, if I use an actionscript such as:[code]it goes to the 3rd frame in the movie clip and not the main scene.
If I have an FLV that I've output as SWF with skin to have embedded into an HTML page, and now a 'skip intro' is needed - though I'd have to make note of the actual time or keyframe in which the intro completes...How is this possible? Clearly, a button would need to be added for that kind of interactivity?
i am making a full flash site in MX and i need to know how to make a preolader so that it loads the main page (alone)...then loads the next page when the button is clicked on...i want it so that all my pages dont load at once, only if they are clicked on..
making an intro for my site.Right now, it's coded in php, but I'd like to take it to flash. In the intro, (I fail at making images) I'd be making two characters that come in from off-screen and do a small fight. Then the winner gets shot with a bullet and dies. They fade out and then the site comes up.
how I can make a 95% black MC cover everything on the website page (full screen onResize) so I can present an externally loaded image by itself? I have seen this done before in a few flash portfolio websites but I can't seem to find the solution on any previous thread. I may have missed some threads. is there an actionscript that can do all of the above without having to resize an MC?
I have to make a flash product displayer for the main page of their site. They don't know a whole lot about web development (but they know enough), so they keep asking me to do things that I keep telling them I can do.Well, I can't. What I need the thing to do is have the user hit a button, and the product change. They can also hit the back button for the last product. The previous and next product will be visible but not touchable. Almost like a scrolling wheel of products.
Im new to building site and started using flash cs4. I need to know please what actions i need to redirect my intro to my website within the same browser. Im using flash cs4 i have created my into and now im ready to bring it into my site and have it take me to my index page once the intro is done.
how to add a animated intro to my website. I have a pre loader setup already. Would I have to have another pe loader for the animation?, i'm completely boggled I would additionally like to provide a skip option for impatient viewers.
I have an intro movie for my website, I know how to make it load another URL after it has played but how do I get it to load another swf. I know there is an easy answer that is escaping me.

I made an intro animation for a website. Packaged it up into a movie clip, selected "Export for ActionScript", dragged it into my timeline, and gave it an instance name (myIntro_mc).
This is not an exported swf... it only exists in my library as a symbol (and what ever folder of classes it goes to when you export for action script).
The intro plays some animation, has a button to continue to the site, plays some more animation and then stops.
The movie clip is in its own layer and has 4 frames of the main timeline.
If I don't tell the main timeline to stop in frame 1, the intro never shows up... playback goes directly to frame 5 (which is the home page).
If I put a stop(); in the first frame the intro plays and stops and the main timeline never resumes.
I can't sort out how to tell the movie clip to play the parent timeline when it reaches the end... nor can I figure out how to wait in the main timeline for the intro to finish playing before resuming the main timeline.
I've been gnawing at this an embarrassing amount of time and have tried all sorts of bad code in both the main timeline and in the child movie clip.
I'm creating a flash intro and i was wonder how i would set it up so that the intro only plays the first time the viewer views the website. so that the next time they visit it takes them directly to the main page. this is dealing with cookies b/c once they clear their cookies it would play again.
i want to make an intro swf which is small and loads quickly but i would like the main swf to start loading while the intro is playing. i'm not worried about the intro finishing once the main movie is loaded but i just want to the main movie to START loading while the intro is playing to cut down on load time.
I created an intro_mc on frame 1 of my main timeline that I want to play before loading the rest of the site. I have nothing else on the first frame except intro_mc, and actionscript.Script on main timeline is: intro_mc.gotoAndPlay(1);top();The timeline inside intro_mc has this actionscript on the very last frame:gotoAndPlay(2, "Scene 1");So right now, the it just stops on the first frame. If I take out the stop(); action, it just skips over my intro_mc and loads the whole site.
I have a full flash website which is broken down into:
- Main movie which contains navigation and interface components
- Several content movies which are loaded into the main movie on demand
- An intro movie which is around 3MB in size; its a full CG movie.
At the moment the main movie preloads and then the intro movie preloads afterwards in a sequence; like so:
Main Movie > Intro Movie > Content Loads
There is a skip intro option which will skip the intro movie step and jump right to the content load once the main movie has loaded.
My client wants me to do something which is proving very difficult and I am starting to wonder if its even possible as searches on the net have given results which don't really work properly.
Here is what I need to do:
When the main movie is requested, its preloader appears which it has a load bar and a "skip intro" button. The difference being, this preloader will be loading the main movie AND the preloader; which the load bar representing both movies load progress.
To complicate matters, if the skip intro button is pressed, the preloader needs to drop the intro movie from the equation and just account for the main movie & thus skip the intro; straight to the content.
The way I have tried to do it is to have a preloader code in the intro which sends the total size and bytesloaded back to the main movie which deals with those values, adding it onto its own size. This is proving cumbersome and although appeared to be working, isn't working propery.
I have a swf called main.swf that is loading an external swf called main-intro.swf.main-intro.swf has a clip that fades up and then I have a stop action 24 frames in. The problem is is that I get a null object reference error (1009) when calling the external swf. If I remove the stop action then it works, if I rename the external swf to intro-main.swf it works with the (stop action). It seems it just doesn't want to run the external swf's actions when it's called main-intro.sql
I have created a number of Projectors which are all linked with loadMovieNum. The problem is is that they don't load when I open them I go from the Intro to the Main but only the Intro shows up and when I click enter it does not go to the next projector which is the main.
I have a movie clip that I uploaded as an .flv (so I could have the sound) as something on the timeline. I set up a button below the video to skip to the website (or welcomePage)However, I cannot get the button to work for some reason. Below is my script, am I missing something? Also, for whatever reason, now my movie clip does not autoload when it did before...I also do realize that I could probably condense the timeline, but I am just working teaching myself, so bare with me.
