making an intro for my site.Right now, it's coded in php, but I'd like to take it to flash.In the intro, (I fail at making images) I'd be making two characters that come in from off-screen and do a small fight. Then the winner gets shot with a bullet and dies.They fade out and then the site comes up.
Though many people before me have asked the same or similar question, I can't find any satisfying answer in these discussions. Note that I'm quite new to working with Flash.
I have made an intro with Adobe Flash using ActionScript 2.0. This intro consists of 82 frames. I want to play my intro once to people visiting my website and subsequently (when the visitor of my site sees frame 82) the browser has to be send to the real mainpage of my site. I already know how to import flash to my site and to name it index.html or index.php and so on.
I just need to know how to create this intro playing once and redirecting to another page and predominantly which codes I'll have to type in my Actions-window (F9).
Im new to building site and started using flash cs4. I need to know please what actions i need to redirect my intro to my website within the same browser. Im using flash cs4 i have created my into and now im ready to bring it into my site and have it take me to my index page once the intro is done.
how to add a animated intro to my website. I have a pre loader setup already. Would I have to have another pe loader for the animation?, i'm completely boggled I would additionally like to provide a skip option for impatient viewers.
I have an intro movie for my website, I know how to make it load another URL after it has played but how do I get it to load another swf. I know there is an easy answer that is escaping me.

I have designing my website with Dreamweaver and am wondering how exactly I can make a non-interactive slideshow for my main page, preferably in Flash or Fireworks. I want the slideshow to begin each time the main page is loaded. I have been using Simple viewer to make my galleries because I don't know html, I'm a photojournalism major and happened to get the entire cs4 suite with my macbook. I'd like to learn to put more than PS and Indesign to good use.
I made an intro animation for a website. Packaged it up into a movie clip, selected "Export for ActionScript", dragged it into my timeline, and gave it an instance name (myIntro_mc).
This is not an exported swf... it only exists in my library as a symbol (and what ever folder of classes it goes to when you export for action script).
The intro plays some animation, has a button to continue to the site, plays some more animation and then stops.
The movie clip is in its own layer and has 4 frames of the main timeline.
If I don't tell the main timeline to stop in frame 1, the intro never shows up... playback goes directly to frame 5 (which is the home page).
If I put a stop(); in the first frame the intro plays and stops and the main timeline never resumes.
I can't sort out how to tell the movie clip to play the parent timeline when it reaches the end... nor can I figure out how to wait in the main timeline for the intro to finish playing before resuming the main timeline.
I've been gnawing at this an embarrassing amount of time and have tried all sorts of bad code in both the main timeline and in the child movie clip.
I want to know how can I make like this sliding menu, and also the intro of the website (likes a papers or book) and flower background (growing). [URL]
I'm creating a flash intro and i was wonder how i would set it up so that the intro only plays the first time the viewer views the website. so that the next time they visit it takes them directly to the main page. this is dealing with cookies b/c once they clear their cookies it would play again.
I'm relatively new to Flash and AS3. I've created a website thats a dynamic photo gallery. The site is self-contained (no scrolbars) and I want the frame work of the gallery to draw itself in as the page loads. The frame work is just simple lines and drawing objects on the maintimeline. Do i combine the lines (the "frame work") into a mc and then somehow use the deco tool? How can I acheive this in action script?
I am new to flash and trying to make a simple flash website video intro in Flash CS5 Pro.I have a flv viedo on the stage, under an image with a trasnparent center.I have the video on the bottom layer, the overlay image on the middle layer, and the top layer is my AS layer (AS3).
The video is currently autoplaying when i export.All i want is for it to open my website in the same window as the intro played when the video ends.I dont need a "skip intro button" or anything.I just want it to play the intro when you go to my site, and then bring up the index page of my site after it plays.
If I have an FLV that I've output as SWF with skin to have embedded into an HTML page, and now a 'skip intro' is needed - though I'd have to make note of the actual time or keyframe in which the intro completes...How is this possible? Clearly, a button would need to be added for that kind of interactivity?
I have a movie clip that I imported into flash, used a skin and have a nice little player for this website intro. I want to proceed to the sites home page upon completion of the movie. Searched but the best I could come up with was;
Trying to make it so when you click anywhere on the flash file, it loads a specific website. It works when I go to File > Preview > Flash, but if I try and preview in html it doesn't navigate anywhere. My actionscript is:
Code: myButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onMouseClick); function onMouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void {
I have a few questions on creating some animated buttons for a nav. There are 2 actions I want to trigger on moue over. If I want to use a static (PNG) image that I created in Photoshop for the actual button, can I use that? I want to smoothly slide button down on mouse-over and slide back up on mouse off. If I push part of the button off the "canvas" (sorry, this is coming from a Photoshop guy) will it disappear in the final animation? Another way to put that is, if I put an animated element off the white area, will it no longer show up in the movie (.swf) when it's published?
For the second part; you can see a bit of what I want to do if you look at this website's top Nav: [URL] I need the "light" above the button and it's going to be on another colored <div> so I can't set one solid BG color for my flash document. But I want to achieve the effect of the "bar" lighting up above the button and the actual button sliding down upon moue over.
I have published my intro to my website I checked "Loop" and unchecked "Loop" under the Flash section of publishing no matter which I it continues to loop and not go to my website. This is the action I am using:[URL]...
I'm making a piece of flash used for a website banner, previously i've had very little experience with action scipt as i've made various animations only having to use simple functions such as "stop()" and i've made a never ending scrolling menu also, but now i want to have an event that "onPress" a small animation is played where the mouse clicked the banner. What would be the appropriate script to link the .swf i make to the "onPress" command? or what is the right command in general assuming it is that command
Let's say i have a class that simulates a 'button section'.The button bears a title. Like news. I click on it, i transfer the title in the button and the respective news to the body.The body exists outside the class. It's a textField variable. let's assume.
ActionScript Code: public function xmlLoad()[code].....
keeps giving me an error.1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Number to an unrelated type String.but i've seen this done before, except it was on a loader variable...but i don't see how that would be any different.
I'm looking at making some PHP Flash shortly to replace my current website, http://www.mathsnotes.com. I was thinking about allowing users to download a standalone version, i.e. the SWF file or an EXE file. My question is: Will the PHP still work, or is it parsed by another entity, e.g. the users browser?
Also, I wanted to add a live news feed - So is it possible to have flash check every frame ( like a _root.onEnterFrame() = Fucntion{ ... ) the mysql database to look for anything with a timestamp less than say, 5mins, and then display it? Or does PHP require a user to do something like "Update News"?
I'm making a website with a couple of loadMovie bits of script in. I'm loading these into empty movie clips in the .fla file, to load a photo gallery and a portfolio.
The problem I'm having is they're not keeping the individual paramaters (if thats the right term) of each .swf file (the movie it's loading)
For example, my gallery.swf requires the scroller to be at x. 29 for it to work. Dunno why, but i worked around it. However when it's loaded into the website.fla file, it's using the x and y co-ordinates of the website, as opposed to the original movie. So, if I place the empty movie clip where i want the movie to load, the scroller doesnt work. However if I place it a 0,0 it does.
With my portfolio.swf the files are not located in the root folder. But my website .fla is. It's not possible to have the files in the root folder because of the way it works. When loading the portfolio.swf on it's own the files work fine and are linked okay. But when the .swf is inside the empty movie clip on the .fla file, it's not going to the correct source, it's seaching for the files from my root folder as opposed to the portfolio folder where the .xml and sub folders are located. Changing the path it looks for doesnt help either. I tried to make it search for "portfolio/gallery.xml" (as opposed to "gallery.xml") and that made the rest of the code try to look inside a portfolio folder (so instead of "gallery/design/image1.jpg" it was looking inside "portfolio/gallery/design etc." whilst already being inside the folder).
What I want to know is, is there a piece of actionscript that will tell the loadMovie function to use the original paramters of the movie it's loading, and not intigrate them with the .fla you're working on.
Well first off here is my script so far on the page:

Here are the errors I get everytime I try to debug or Test Movie:

what im trying to do is make an interactive webssite 100% out of flash.on one of the pages in that website i would like to have one of my custom youtube players that youtube lets you make and gives you an embed code for.problem is that it is an HTML embed code.ive tried everything to get this to work and the best i could do was get the player to work in an independant .swf file but whenever i try to incorporate it into a page in my website and load it in a browser i get a security error saying that i cant let flash access youtube and i have tried everyway on google to get around that with no luck.
For a project, I'm making an interactive side scroller.You move the character with the arrow keys and press the space bar to interact with things.So far, I followed DexNote's tutorial on YouTube.I thought that I would make the interactable objects as buttons, while the mouse focus would be on the character and when you press the space bar it make a mouse click in that area.The trouble I'm having now is that I don't know how to make the space bar trigger the "interactions."
