ActionScript 2.0 :: Make A Decelerating Spring Effect?

how to make a decelerating spring effect? what i want is to have a ball that goes to a target using the spring effect (ie it goes a bit further than the target and springs back a bit before a few times decreasing each time the distance - giving a spring effect) - but what i also want is that as it goes to the first position where it 'springs' back for the ball to decelerate! I can do the spring - i can do the deceleration - but I dont know how to do the 2 together -

I'm trying to simulate the effect of a slinky spring in actionscript, and I've come up against an interesting anomaly.The code is fairly basic, and takes advantage of a certain degree of latency in the running of the code. The code basically asks all the movie clips to the right of clip that is being dragged, to keep a certain amount of pixels apart from its neighbour. You would think that this would mean the clips would be kept in rigid alignment, but instead you get a great rippling effect.
My problem is that this only seems to work in one direction despite my code being identical (but reversed)for each different case - left and right.If you take a look at the fla you'll see what I mean. Try dragging line No. 0 around versus dragging line No. 19.

I tried asking this on the Spring forums ([URL]) but did not get a response. I'm working on a web application that has an (end user) user interface built in Flex and a management user interface built using Spring MVC. I'm trying to secure both interfaces and can get each one working separately, but not together. I'm using a snapshot build of spring-flex-core 1.5.0 with Spring Security 3.1RC1 and Spring 3.1M1

I'm obviously missing something but while the Spring Flex documentation describes how to configure a hybrid MVC+Flex application at the servlet level it appears to only consider security from the perspective of a flex-only application.

I'm making a platformer, and I'm trying to make a spring to launch the character upwards, and im using this script:

The code works, but it just teleports the character 300 pixels upwards, but I need a fluid motion.

I can do normal movement, or accelerating and decelerating, and just random, but the issue I'm having is a random-ish type of movement that still manages to wander across the screen from point a to point b. (from x1,y1 to x2,y2). Is this doable?

I want to be able to make a movie clip (that acts as a button) so the roll over effect finishes before the roll off effect is triggered. Like if a marker circles a button, i want the circling animation to stop before the roll off effects happens. Anyone know how to do this.

I'm trying to make the same effect as in the Cooliris wall in Flash using the Away 3D classes.[URL]..1. (Dumb question) I don't know why the pictures from flickr feed are not showing when my site is online. It works on my local but I just saw that it doesn't when online. I thought flickr has a crossdomain.xml.
2. (This is my real question) How can I make a shadow of the last row? If you look at Cooliris plugin you will see that the wall looks like being placed over a shiny glass so the last row is reflected. What's the best practice to do that? Can I duplicate all thumbnails from the last row and just rotate them? Is that good for the CPU and memory when I will deal with a very long wall?

Im an aspiring flash game developer struggling with a bit of code in my upcoming game, I want to play a sound(A "ding") everytime the main character touches a cookie on stage. The main character follows the mouse cursor, and the cookies fall down from the sky.
I have scripted the cookies main class, with this function(which works fine)

And I was hoping it would go into the library and play the sound bit named "bellSound" but it doesnt do this, instead nothing happends, not even any errors under the "Compiler errors" So no im a bit lost, as I do not know how to make this work, so a sound is played when the main character touches the cookie.

Does anyone know how to make an LED scrolling text effect? This is the best way I can describe it as I don't want scrolling text in the normal way, I want it to be on one line moving right to left with very few characters. Like you might see in an elevator or shop window on an LED scroller.

I would like to make a mouse-over effect on an object. The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?
