When you click one, that single photo zooms up to almost fill the page and rotates to go from crooked to straight. And then a button would appear saying Back to have it zoom back out to it`s place. kind of like this one click Woodward on the left, then click The Camp)

Aug 17, 2005I followed the tutorial concerning the "Photo Gallery using XML and Flash", and everything works great. The only problem is that I have to make some alterations in the initial code, and I just can't get it right.
Here's what I have to do:
1. Introduce a fade out that intertwines with the fade in of the nextImage;
2. Add a link to the xml, so that when the user clicks the images, each leads to a different page.
To achieve this, I've tried to play around with the alpha values on prevImage, slideshow, and nextImage functions, but as for the results either the pictures don't appear, or simply flash intermittently when they do. As for the Link part, I've trying to introduce a <link> line on the xml file, and put a 'href' value on the <image> line. None worked.
ActionScript 2.0 :: Photo Gallery - Big Display / Fade Effect
Sep 12, 2006I am new in the marvelous world of flash 8. I am building now my photo galley that I will then include in my Web site. Here are my 2 questions : My pics are featured in a big display with a thumb gallery under it. Until now I managed to create a mouse rollover effect on the thumbnails so that a big image of the thumbnail appear in the big display when I roll my mouse over its thumb. Codes are ok everything work perfectly. I want now to create 2 things :
1 : I want my images to appear in the big display by fading and
2 : I want a bigger preview window of my thumb when I roll over my mouse on each of them ( the preview window appear more or less like a tooltip and strech)
Here is the code I basically use for the gallery I achieved till now.

Dec 11, 2010I am trying to make a grid of photo thumbnails where the thumbnail grows when you mouse over it. Sort of like the Mac Dock effect but in a grid. And I'd be happy with an effect in which the individual thumnbail grows on mouseover, or one more like the Dock effect in which the nearby thumbnails grow too, but less.

Jun 7, 2004I'm looking for a way to setup a slideshow of pictures that I can control with Actionscript. I've come up with something using setInterval, but I'm having problems with that, so I'm looking for an alternative method. I have maybe 5 photos. Starting with the first photo I'd like to have it slowly fade on, when it reaches an alpha of 99 or higher, it will wait a certain amount of seconds and then the next picture will fade in. I'd like to do this automatically through actionscript, don't want to use keyframes or animations.

Feb 23, 2010I've searched the forums as well as other areas of the internet to find a solution to this issue I'm having. I've managed to gather bits and pieces here and there and they have kind of came together to get me further than I expected. I've basically went about my own little way of trying to make a photo gallery using php and flash. So far I've made more progress than I figured I would, but I have ran into a few issues and I fear I may have to start over entirely.
What I've done is pieced together some php code to read the contents of a directory, it then writes them to a php file and assigns them each a variable name and finally assigns the number of photos in the directory to a variable name, it looks like this once the script is ran[code]...

Nov 9, 2008I want to make a dynamic photo gallery. The layout will be a scrollable bar at the bottom with thumbnails and then when you click one, a big version of the picture in the main window. Pretty simple layout. But! I want it to be dynamic in the sense that follows;
I have a txt file that contains the number of photos in the folder (at the moment, there are 5). Flash reads that number, and inputs that into a for statement, which then gets the filename of each of the 5 files (p0, p1, p2, etc) and slaps a .jpg on the end. Its like this so that i can add files to the folder, change the number in the text file, and be done (no site maintenance required).
Now comes the problem. I want to be able to, within the for statement, load those files AND be able to resize them. What i'm doing now is putting an instance of the gallery itself on the stage (just an empty movie clip), and in the for statement I am adding a "thumb" movie clip into that gallery movie clip, and loading the image into that. Visually:
Gallery_mc
--->thumb_mc
------->loaded image file.
The problem is that I can't resize them. I've tried using the loadercontentinfo stuff, but when i do that, it messes up my for loop somehow. I could always make all of my thumbnail files that size anyways, but I am also hoping to maybe implement my creation here in the future so that I can give it to others who aren't tech savvy and having them be able to use it without any difficulty. Here is the code:

I took out the loaderinfo stuff because it didnt work. As it stands, this version actually does sucessfully load the images, but doesnt do anything to resize them.

If I then add some scaling or resizing in onLoadInit() it just sits there. Any way to do what I'm trying to do?
