View 1 RepliesI am in a pinch for time and know very little about Flash and even less about Actionscript, but I need to know how to make a ball fall according to gravity!

I have a graphics object.I want it to doa full turn all the way round.To give the impression that it's turning around.What I can do is create an object, put another instance on a key frame later, and on that instace simply flip the object horizontoally.When I play the animation...It has the effect of doing half the turn.what I want is something that flips all the way round!I've played with trying to do this...But i just cant get it to work.
View 1 RepliesDoes anyone know of a light flip class to flip a movieclip that is animated? Away3D is overkill for this project since this simple flip is the only 3D effect needed.
View 0 RepliesI want to convert my pdf file to page flip book. And put the flip books on my webpage.[URL]..
know anything about aXmag and page-flip? or any other good software to recommend?
i m trying to develop a bb playbook app. how can i make a flip book effect with as3? i need to have 10 images(pages) to flip
View 1 Repliescreating a flip-book in flash (using AS3) . I've looked at the other flip-book programs and editors out there, and none really give the customization that my company wants.I have something working, but the page scoping seems to be off. The pages will turn back and forward with a button click but they flip out of order. However, it all runs fine with no error when the user clicks on the pages themselves. This is the code from the main timeline (where I'm getting an error).
View 6 RepliesDoes anybody has a source file I could use as an example on how to make a display to turn (flip) around and show the other side
View 3 RepliesIs there a possible way to make an object flip (change directions, vertically or horizontally) using actionscript?
View 4 RepliesI've been messing around with hittest and I can't figure out how to detect when the actual content of the MC collides with the other's, rather than just detecting when the bounding boxes collide.
View 3 RepliesI have a dynamic TextField set as input field. I listen for the FOCUS_IN and FOCUS_OUT events to enable black border and grey background when the user clicks on that text field and remove them when the text field loses its focus - when the user clicks on the stage or any other element.
That works perfect until I drag any of the Flash components on the stage. In order to lose the focus from the text filed I need to click on a component otherwise it won't work. It looks like components "steal" focus out event...
ActionScript Code:
import flash.events.FocusEvent;
inputField_txt.addEventListener(FocusEvent.FOCUS_IN, onFocusIn);
[Code].....
_root.createEmptyMovieClip("vsound",_root.getNextHighestDepth())vSound.attachAudio(ns);[code]....
Before i had the volume slider, the mute button was fine. but now, it doesn't work anymore.
I am developing a game with Flixel as a base, and part of what I need is a way to check for collisions along a line (a line from point A to point B, specifically). Best way to explain this is I have a laser beam shooting from one ship to another object (or to a point in space if nothing is overlapping the line). I want the line to reach only until it hits an object. How can I determine mathematically / programatically where along a line the line is running into an object?
I could try measuring the length of the line and checking points for collision until one does, but that seems like way too much overhead to do every frame when I'm sure there is a mathematical way to determine it.
Edit: Before checking an object for collision with the line itself, I would first eliminate any objects not within the line's bounding box - defined by the x of the left-most point, the y of the top-most point, the x of the right-most point, and the y of the bottom-most point. This will limit line-collision checks to a few objects.
Edit again: My question seems to still not be fully clear, sorry. Some of the solutions would probably work, but I'm looking for a simple, preferably mathematical solution. And when I say "rectangle" I mean one whose sides are locked to the x and y axis, not a rotatable rectangle. So a line is not a rectangle of width 0 unless it's at 90 or -90 degrees (assuming 0 degrees points to the right of the screen).
i want to use a DisplayObject to determine collides with hitTestObject function how to create a DisplayObject for BitmapData? so it knows totally transparent pixels are not collidable
View 2 RepliesIm trying to make the cursor invert so when you go left on your mouse the mouse pointer goes right, basically the cursor goes the opposite way to your mouse. I have no idea where to start or even if its possible. I assume it be a case of hiding the original mouse pointer then using a MC of a pointer which has the inverted movement applied to it?? The inverted cursor also needs to be able to click a button that would put the cursor back to normal. Im using CS5 so either AS2 or 3
View 4 RepliesI've been looking for a simple way to invert a mask in flash. Its just amazing how it doesn't have this feature.
I just really need to paint shape and whatever is below (in layers) wont show up.
well, i was wondering. there is the regular masking way, where we can draw an area and what that drawing catches behind will take the drawing form.but what i was trying to do is the inverse, so that the image from behind will appear, but the masked area will be empty
View 9 RepliesI currently have a vertical slider that is controlled by the user using startDrag. The puck is restricted in movement by a track movieclip that is 115px high.
[Code]....
i try to invert the mouse movement. when you move the mouse the the left it will go to the right and viceversa. the same for the Y axe.
View 9 Repliesi was wondering if it's possible to invert columns and rows - I need the rows to become columns a columns to become rows.
[Code]...
Problem is becouse number of rows (1,2,3) is changed dynamically. I was trying to create new arrayCollection and use different variations of addItem but non of them works and I'm stuck. Maybe some of you know how to do this?
Is it possible to invert the Y-axis from the cursor? So moving up would move the cursor down?
View 4 RepliesI made a volumeslider, but the problem is that the sound plays at 100% when the slider is down and at 0% when the slider is up.Of course every volumeslider does the opposite. adjust this code so down, the volume becomes 0% and up 100%?
sliderVolume.onPress = function() {
this.startDrag(false,150,150,150,250);
}
[Code]...
reason is i'm copying this grayscale Perlinnoise smoke image and makig it such that the darker the color, the more transparent it is. (I'musingcopyChannel.RED/GREEN/BLUE->CopyChannel.ALPHA). But right now, it's the other way round at the moment (ie. the brighter the pixel, the more opaque it is.). I want it to be more transparent instead (inversely proportional), so if i could find simple & fast way invert the alpha channel, it would do me so much more good. (I need a fast method...performance is critical!)
View 6 RepliesLooking for a tutorial to make individual pages (jpg or gif) into swf pages so we can add links in an on-line flip book. I have flash, but have not learned as of yet.
View 2 RepliesI'm wanting to render this character as a flash animation (which i will create with swift 3d), could I make the walls of this corridor mask him so that only his head would only be seen as he walked through it, as below?I would later render the animation of walls as normal like so ..lkThrough.html (so that i would have a vector character walking through a bitmap corridor, you may ask why i want to do that, and that's because later on the character will be mainly animating on a still background and i'm trying to conserve download time for the Flash file).
View 0 RepliesI worked on a new Flash project, but I cant seem to find a good solution for how I want my objects to collide. In my project I have: a Ball(moving object) and a Floor(not moving).
The ball is positioned over the floor and drops onto the floor through the gravity that is applied with the code.

Is there a way to have a global gravity in flash AS3. In which you could choose what objects you want to be affected by it? Is there a way to have a block of code that separates moving from still objects and will not let any objects collide(not overlap)?

referring to Pom's tutorial on gravity (up and down), I was wondering how to alter the code to make it so that the object moved and bounced along the x-axis. I tried this:
Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
gravity = 2 ;

i'm trying to recreate gravity. this is what i have so far:
[AS]G = 0.005;
m1 = ball1._width;
m2 = ball2._width;

scrnH = 400
[code]....
the script looks alright to me but when run, the effect is wrong...
