where the input text box var is "input" but for some reason, its not working. the "else" command is working perfectly, but when i try and use the password "35" to get to frame 35 it treats it treats it as "else" as if its not recognizing the password.
is there a cleaner and more efficent way to wright this. i need 20+ different passwords. client wants to keep to htm and php no mySQL.

I am new to actionscript. I have a movie clip (mc)in my library. The Movieclip has a dynamic text whose instance is "dynamic_txt". I need to create copies of movieclip and each dynamic_txt within that mc, want to assign a value.

However, "_level0.mymc.dynamic_txt.text = i " is giving me compilation error. Will it be

or anything else. I have tried few combination and either its compilation error or not working as required.
I have 29 buttons, named img1, img2 ....till img29...I need to access them all in a loop. I had asked this question earlier, but at that time the buttons had to be accessed via their holding movieclip, but this time the code is within the clip, so I need to directly access the button.
So originally the code I was using to access them was

now I need to access them as
this.img2._alpha //due to a path change
I tried using
this.img[i]._alpha but this is not working.
I want to put this in a loop where I moves from 1 to 29.
Is there a way to do something like this?

All i really want to do is be able to affect multiple movieclips at once with event listeners and greensock tweens.
The first snag I hit was that I couldn't create references to movie clips using the old [] Associative array referencing method. Maybe I still can with AS3, but I couldn't get it to work...
So I found another technique using getChildByName that returns a reference to a movie clips and allows me to store that reference in a variable.
However, the movie clip I'm trying to affect with an event listener resides inside of another movie clips, so to build the address (aka, root.mc1.m2.mc3) to the mc I want to get to is proving to be difficult. (I'm very new to AS3...)
I thought the trace(target1_mc.target2_mc.name); at the bottom of the following code would output the name of target2_mc but it doesn't.[code]...
I am having a problem trying to make a little game. I want to create a password box using input text but i dont know how to put a variable on my input text. It's telling me i can only do it with AS2. What I am trying to do is that if you enter (in the password box) a specifically word like ''Pizza'', your sended to ''Question 1'' using go to and stop. I want to ask you if you know some way how to store the password in no plain string. I can store it in the file but everybody can read it there... Is there any way how to encrypt and then decrypt saved password?

Is there a way to get around this? View 21 RepliesI am just learning AS. I am trying to make a username and password box that will return a welcome message if the two text fields are entered correctly and a "Sorry Charlie" message if they are not.
I am using an If-Else statement. If I have the Else part commented out, I am able to enter text into the two text fields and get a welcome message. With the else statement though, I am not able to finish entering text in the second text field before the "Sorry Charlie" message appears.

If I can automate the process so I do not need to make individual packages but can control their use... this would be good. I'd like to set up a user name and passowrd that the user enters in the Air app. Is it then just a matter of sending POST data to the php file, and have it check the user and pass variables? Is that a reasonably safe way to do it? If not, can someone please point me in th edirection of a good tutorial that they're used on this topic?
