ActionScript 2.0 :: Navigation With Flash On Webpage?
Dec 28, 2006
I've really been trying to do this navigation in flash, [url]Does anyone have any insight or explaination on how this is done? Is it a bunch of Masks that once rolled over expand to reveal more beneath? I can't seem to grasp the concept.
I'm currently developing a full flash site. I've made the dropdown navigation menu with flash also. However, whenever I insert or import it into the webpage .fla, nothing works. When I preview the navigation menu swf file it works perfectly, ie, the mouseover effects, however I lose all actionscript coding when I bring it into my webpage .fla, what am I doing wrong?
I'm using Flash CS4. When a page is opened it plays a 20 second Flash movie. At the end of the movie I want to be able to transition directly to another web page. How do I do it?
From JavaScript, you need to get a reference to the Flash Player object. There are two basic Flash Player versions that run in the browser: ActiveX and the plug-in version. The ActiveX version runs natively in Internet Explorer, while the plug-in version is used by the rest of the browsers. The ActiveX player is controlled by the object tag in an HTML page, and you can retrieve a JavaScript reference using window. objectId where objectId is the value of the id attribute of the object tag. For example, if the object tag's id attribute is example, then the reference to the ActiveX player would be window.example.
The plug-in player is controlled by the embed tag in an HTML page, and you can retrieve a JavaScript reference by using window.document. embedName, where embedName is the value of the name attribute of the embed tag. For example, if the embed tag's name attribute is example, then the reference to the plug-in player would be window.document.example.And here's the question itself:Why does the Flash Player Object exist as a window property when embeded via the object tag, while, when embeded via the embed tag, it exists in the window.document property? And what is the most modern way of getting the Flash Player Object from within a web page?
I have a flash application that runs on web browsers as well as on desktop with some extra functionality, i use webkit for air with desktop app and i need some alternate of it for web app,
actually i want to render html in flash player and then do some processing on it and allow some operations on it,
Question is how can i open a web page in flash application in browser such that i can do the required operations on it
I have a web page all in flashWhen page is loaded I can scroll it with mouse, But when I load first external movie clip the mouse scrolling function disappears. Is there anything I can do?
In my .fla file i have several buttons. On my hosting webpage i need to know which button was pressed. I was going to use fscommand which works when passing a variable to a regular form, but I cannot use it when passing to a webpage. How do i establish communication between flash and my hosting C#asp.net webpage?
I found a flash movie on the internet and I modified it to meet my needs and works perfectly, but when I uploaded to my website it doesn't load correctly: it should have load the spiral carousel photoslide but instead it loads only the background photo. The flash movie is inside a folder with all the flash files included including the actionscript files, I uploaded that folder to my website and in my index.html page I've put my flash movie.
I have obtained the Free Video to Flash Converter v 4.7.25 build 602 from www.dvdvideosoft.com, and find it creates flash movies from my .wmv files fine.
I selected the 'New Maxi' player and after converting a file, sample HTML script is provided to put onto a web page. Also, it directs copying the contents of the folder in which the movie is created into the folder that contains the web page.
I've done this OK, as can be seen on [URL] where there are four movies selectable amongst the 'still' pictures (e.g. 9th row, first column).
Each uses a hyperlink to a separate page for each movie containing the script provided above in its own folder with the copied contents mentioned above. This all works OK, and enables a full-screen view of the movies if required.
My query concerns the fact that I duplicate most of the files and folders for each movie page, when only the actual .flv and preview .jpg are different.
I've tried putting the 'common' files into a separate folder ( fl ) and only keeping the html page and settings.xml in each movie page folder. I put all four flv files in the fl.videos folder.
I amend the references to swfobject and videoPlayer in the individual four movie html pages by putting ../fl/ in front, and similarly with the videos location in settings.xml
When I do this, I get a black rectangle, but no controls, no start picture and no video.
I have a flash swf file that displays some training information that must go out to about ten thousand people in our organisation. Maybe only 70% of people have the flash player installed on their work PC's and IT have the systems locked down so tight this remaining 30% can not install flash player themselves. Flash is only rolled out with new PC's.
I am wanting to create a website that uses flash elements to show my portfolio/ resume/ contact information.it worries me because I look at these professionally done flash sites and I honestly have no idea how to make mine look even close to that!
this is what i want to happen, i want the flash to stop animating/looping (i already have that done) and then instead of opening a seperate page to load a website i want it to load within the swf. CS4 ActionScript 3
take a look at this link [URL]. Notice that the flash file in the middle window is off-centered (hanging to the bottom right corner a bit). Any thoughs on why this is? The swf file is fine when I open it seperately and locally, but looks goofy when I throw it in the page.
Building a webpage entirely in Flash??I have to admit that I really like flash.I am using it for about 2 years, but I am still not sure if building a webpage entirely in flash would bee a good idea. In HTML I can't achieve the same look, and feel, on the other hand sacrificing the look for functionality is the last thing I would do.
I have a flash document that I want to always take up the entire web page. Setting to 100% width & 100% height doesn't do the trick, because if the window dimensions aren't right, white space will show on the sides/top and bottom.
Is there a way to get the window dimensions are say if window height > window width : flash movie = window height (and vice versa)?
I have flash video files to display on to website. The flv files are in 1024*768 size. But , when i am displaying the flv on website with 960*720,the video quality is not good.
I'm editing a web page to access it only after login, so now it's a php page with an inital <?php session_start(); ?> and in the body of the page I test the value of a session variable. All works fine but in the header there is flash animation that don't load background picture. In the old version of the page this picture was loaded fine but not now.The address of old version of the page is this and new versione is this this.
I want to programmatically detect flash on a web page. From my search, I understand I need to parse the code and look for embed tags that have the attribute "application/x-shockwave-flash". Is that all? Or there are other ways to embed flash into a web page?
What is the way to embed a FLV video on a web pageAre there available SWF ready to use and easy to customise that would allow a streaming of the FLV from our site to the client browser? In this case what would be the wrapping code to run and setup that SWF?
I have a web page with certain tabs and adding flash with jqueryThe swf is shown on default, and when u click tab 2, 3 or 4, the content of that page is shown over the flash. (meaning the flash continue to run)This is what i attempted
<div id="game"> You must have flash installed to view this game </div>
I am looking for advice how to set web pages where user can interact with it using microphone. The aim would be that user can say word and the word would be recorder and the file compared on server with another sound (word) and then the result (the searched word) would be displayed. It would be a spoken dictionary.
