take a look at this link [URL]. Notice that the flash file in the middle window is off-centered (hanging to the bottom right corner a bit). Any thoughs on why this is? The swf file is fine when I open it seperately and locally, but looks goofy when I throw it in the page.
View 3 RepliesNot sure if there's a fix for this or not. I've had this happen to me on the last two sites I've built. I embed the flash movie into my site in Dreamweaver, and everything works perfectly in Safari. When I view the site in Firefox however, the flash movie loads a few pixels off (see pics). Anyone have a fix for this?I've tried setting the vertical align of the movie to "bottom," and I've also tried dragging all of the cells tight in the site. I've even tried rebuilding the site all together. As soon as I bring in the flash, the cells get off in FirefoxSite in Safari:

View 2 RepliesI have a flash document that I want to always take up the entire web page. Setting to 100% width & 100% height doesn't do the trick, because if the window dimensions aren't right, white space will show on the sides/top and bottom.
Is there a way to get the window dimensions are say if window height > window width : flash movie = window height (and vice versa)?

View 1 RepliesI have created a flash movie using actionscript 3 and an xml file with a list of images for a slideshow. After clicking publish, I can view the slideshow by previewing the html file it creates for you. However, I want to embed this flash movie in a different web page. When I try to add it in Dreamweaver, by dragging and dropping the swf file into the page, a flash placeholder is generated, but the movie does not play when previewed. It is just blank white space.
Now I watched the Tom Green tutorials on "flash the easy way" and my flash (CS4 professional) did NOT generate the AC_RunActiveContent.js files. I did find and download the file and manually added it to my Scripts folder. Still no joy.
I will note that the html file that embeds the flash video is in a different directory than the movie itself. Surely this cannot be the issue, otherwise people's websites would be incredibly messy with multiple flash videos. I am trying to put all the flash movies in their own child directories of a /flash directory to keep them neat and organized.
I am not sure what to do next. How do you make the dang thing play on a web page that is in another directory?

View 1 RepliesI am having a problem getting my flash file to work on my webpages. I first converted the original .avi to a .flv format,then I imported the.flv into flash. It has a skin because I wanted the users to be able to stop and pause the video. When I test the file outside of the web page it works fine. The skin file, the .flv and the .swf are all in the same folder. But when i Upload the webpage , the flash does not play online. If i preview in design mode, the flash file plays. Although with out the skin. Now if i open the flash file outside of the webdesign software it opens in a web browser and all works.

i have a mc that has 3 text fields category, name, amount and they are being loaded by xml. but when the movie is loaded it loads the mcs inline but i only want them to show 5 in each line. but when its a different category to go to the next line. so for ex.
1 1 1 1 1 - ROW 1

the numbers = a category so there are 5 (if there happens to be a total of 5) in each row but when the category changes it goes to a different row.
However, when i put the destination for my movieclip into the actionscript[code]...
View 8 RepliesI just created a basic flash file to play a video on my web page and it's taking several minutes to load before it starts playback. I'm using progressive downlaod and the file is in *.mov format and is 84MB in size. At first that seemed large to me for web play back, but I thought it could handle it since I thought the way progressive download works is that it would start playing the first frame right away and progressively play other frames as they download. However, this seems to be downloading the whole file first (or a major part of it) before starting any playback at all.
Is there some kind of setting I'm missing or is my understanding of the download incorrect and the file size is too large? Some vitals: I'm using Flash Pro CS5 - To create my flash file, I used the standard import video wizard and selected the a file that is "on my computer" and "load external video with playback component" and then, I selected one of the standard skins.- To deploy the vidoe on my webiste I have three files:
1) swf file containing the FLV component
2) the swf file related to skin
3) the actual video (84MB, mov file) - Web page includes/embeds reference to swf file
I am trying to organize a series of images horizontally on my site. All the tutorials I find about image galleries utilize image thumbnails of the same width. I want to be able to use images of varying widths but cannot figure out how the ActionScript should be set up to handle this.[code]

For some reason the width property of the rotated clips is not lining them up correctly for me. I managed to get the desired result by trial and error (see below), but really need to get an equation for this so I can move the clips around with little hassle.

Basically a video that allows you to click on products and pull up more info on them as they appear in the video.
The video I will be using is 3 mins long with 10 products you can click on, so I guess I will need to progressively download it. If I could embed it in the timeline it would be a piece of cake. I would just have buttons motion tweened moving with the products in the timeline. But the file size will be too large to make this a sensible option.
My question is, I understand cue points can be used to activate actions for progressive video downloads, but how would I track the buttons over the products using progressive downloading when I can't see the video in the flash timeline?
Is this possible with Flash?? I want to place a SWF in the top right of the webpage, and when people click on a link from the main menu on the left of the browser, it plays the SWF. This page is written in php, so there is no refreshing of the webpage, just the content.Basically think of an elevator user clicks on menu item, elevator wheel spins, and javascript loads new content....so the elevator wheel has to play everytime a link is clicked.

View 11 RepliesI've done a search and found out about LocalConnections but I don't seem to be able to apply them to my issue. I have two separate SWF files that appear on the same web page. Both are simple animations and all I want is when the first has finished playing for the second to start, and them when that has completed restart the first one again (and so on...).
I'm also guessing that in order for this to work I'll need some code in the first SWF to detect that the second has finished loading otherwise nothing will happen when the first SWF reaches the end.
I am trying to post the score that the player achieves to a database. I have set a web page "highScores.aspx" which gets a query string variable "webScore" and puts it in a database. This works fine as tested in a browser.
The problem I have is getting the correct information into the query string variable. I have:
form.loadVariables("http://www.rightjustified.co.uk/highScores.aspx", "GET");
where the text in question is located inside "form" (which is a movie clip). I've been following this tutorial [URL] and while not really relevant, it's got me further than anything else. The problem with this tutorial is it relies on the user entering text, whereas I am just displaying out the score in some dynamic text. This means that in output I get the following error:

I should point out, I do not need to read the text to get the value as it is stored in a variable beforehand, I just display it to the player via some dynamic text, but I'm not sure how to use this to my advantage.

The only problem I'm having is that when my wife goes to view the websit on her computer (much smaller size). The page cuts off and there's no scroll bar feature which I thought was like a fixture on websites. I've been looking for hours on how to add a scroll bar to my entire website .. like the standard browser scroll bar but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
I have two files, one is the index.fla file which i used to create my page in using Flash CS5 and the other is the index.html file which I can edit in Dreamweaver.

I've created my first animation using a set of digital Jpeg photos and I've figured out the code for inserting this into my web page. It works perfectly and I'm very impressed with the quality of the animation and how small the file is. Now I want to add a simple control bar underneath with Stop, Play, Rewind - the usual stuff you get on YouTube, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.
