No matter what I do though, when I publish the fla file, a small margin appears around the edges.Now, without adjusting the html, can I get the fla file to publish without a border so that it appears naturally as 'full' within the browser?

I have this weird problem when it comes to using flash in dreamweaver, every time I use a flash file & after I test it on a browser Both Firefox & IE), I get this weird border around it everytime I click it & here is a pic to show u what I am talking about...
View 2 RepliesI'm well aware of the Eleos/Microsoft issues that came before IE 8. However this isn't my problem. My company's website is able to display the swf file fine in FF but in IE, as soon as somebody clicks on the swf file, it does its thing without having to double-click (as in the ActiveX issue previously discussed) but also has what looks like a pink border around it. I'm testing in IE and created the Flash component in Flash CS4 using AS 3.0.Like I said before, the SWF object is activated on the first click, and doesn't have to do with the previously mentioned ActiveX control issue.

View 2 RepliesI am facing some problems with publishing of flash file. After publishing at HTMl; it shows white border at all sides of document. My document size is Width :- 1280 Height : 650. It is adding border on all sides border at top and bottom are greater than that of Left and Right. I have tried it many ways, altered my flash setting as well but no use. I am really stumped due to this. To my surprise at SWF file it showing perfect match and fit exactly into window (not showing any borders like HTML) I dont know exactly from where it is getting white borders. I'm trying to apply a GlowFilter (border) to a image and then rotate+skew it. Unfortunately, doing this makes the filter look bad (jagged edges) even though the image itself is smooth. View 2 RepliesI tried all suggestions from the dreamweave forums and none worked.I am placing a CS4 swf movie into dreamweaver CS4 and when I preview in firefox I can't get rid of the 1 pixel white border.Have tried all settings, including setting the wmode parameters to transparentBorder set to 0, frame set to 'top', image set to top.If I change the background of the frame to blue for example, I get a 1 pixel blue line. I believe the problem is in dreamweaver.How do I fix this?

Is this possible with Flash?? I want to place a SWF in the top right of the webpage, and when people click on a link from the main menu on the left of the browser, it plays the SWF. This page is written in php, so there is no refreshing of the webpage, just the content.Basically think of an elevator user clicks on menu item, elevator wheel spins, and javascript loads new content....so the elevator wheel has to play everytime a link is clicked.
View 1 RepliesI've done a search and found out about LocalConnections but I don't seem to be able to apply them to my issue. I have two separate SWF files that appear on the same web page. Both are simple animations and all I want is when the first has finished playing for the second to start, and them when that has completed restart the first one again (and so on...).
I'm also guessing that in order for this to work I'll need some code in the first SWF to detect that the second has finished loading otherwise nothing will happen when the first SWF reaches the end.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to post the score that the player achieves to a database. I have set a web page "highScores.aspx" which gets a query string variable "webScore" and puts it in a database. This works fine as tested in a browser.
The problem I have is getting the correct information into the query string variable. I have:
form.loadVariables("http://www.rightjustified.co.uk/highScores.aspx", "GET");
where the text in question is located inside "form" (which is a movie clip). I've been following this tutorial [URL] and while not really relevant, it's got me further than anything else. The problem with this tutorial is it relies on the user entering text, whereas I am just displaying out the score in some dynamic text. This means that in output I get the following error:

I should point out, I do not need to read the text to get the value as it is stored in a variable beforehand, I just display it to the player via some dynamic text, but I'm not sure how to use this to my advantage.
take a look at this link [URL]. Notice that the flash file in the middle window is off-centered (hanging to the bottom right corner a bit). Any thoughs on why this is? The swf file is fine when I open it seperately and locally, but looks goofy when I throw it in the page.

The only problem I'm having is that when my wife goes to view the websit on her computer (much smaller size). The page cuts off and there's no scroll bar feature which I thought was like a fixture on websites. I've been looking for hours on how to add a scroll bar to my entire website .. like the standard browser scroll bar but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
I have two files, one is the index.fla file which i used to create my page in using Flash CS5 and the other is the index.html file which I can edit in Dreamweaver.

In HTML I can't achieve the same look, and feel, on the other hand sacrificing the look for functionality is the last thing I would do.
View 2 RepliesI have a flash document that I want to always take up the entire web page. Setting to 100% width & 100% height doesn't do the trick, because if the window dimensions aren't right, white space will show on the sides/top and bottom.
Is there a way to get the window dimensions are say if window height > window width : flash movie = window height (and vice versa)?

I'm new to Flash and I'm pretty sure this a dumb question that has been asked many times - but go easy on me as I have searched and searched through and just can't find the answer.
I've created my first animation using a set of digital Jpeg photos and I've figured out the code for inserting this into my web page. It works perfectly and I'm very impressed with the quality of the animation and how small the file is. Now I want to add a simple control bar underneath with Stop, Play, Rewind - the usual stuff you get on YouTube, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.
I have a menu bar button for my website but I need to resize the object on the roll over state, so it can be seen so it needs to be much bigger the problem is, when I create the hit are it can either be the size of the small button on the up state, or the large button on the over state. The problem here is when I make the hit area Large or as large as the over state it make the hit area way past the perimeters of the up state button so you scroll anywhere near that button and it will activate to the roll over state which can be anoying. My question is how to I make the scroll area as small as the up state button and once I am on the button itself, make the scroll area as large as the over state. So I don't scroll off by mistake. is that possible without making a roll over animation on the time line its self I would want to avoid this if at all possible.

View 1 RepliesI have created a flash movie using actionscript 3 and an xml file with a list of images for a slideshow. After clicking publish, I can view the slideshow by previewing the html file it creates for you. However, I want to embed this flash movie in a different web page. When I try to add it in Dreamweaver, by dragging and dropping the swf file into the page, a flash placeholder is generated, but the movie does not play when previewed. It is just blank white space.
Now I watched the Tom Green tutorials on "flash the easy way" and my flash (CS4 professional) did NOT generate the AC_RunActiveContent.js files. I did find and download the file and manually added it to my Scripts folder. Still no joy.
I will note that the html file that embeds the flash video is in a different directory than the movie itself. Surely this cannot be the issue, otherwise people's websites would be incredibly messy with multiple flash videos. I am trying to put all the flash movies in their own child directories of a /flash directory to keep them neat and organized.
I am not sure what to do next. How do you make the dang thing play on a web page that is in another directory?

- use File > Import an AVI video and convert it to an FLV video.
- use File > publish to publish it.
- Then upload the four files...
.. MyVideo.flv
.. MyPage.html,
.. MyPage swf
.. AC_RunActiveContent.js
to my website.
Works Great!
My Question: Since Javascript seems to run the .swf file which pays the .flv video... (or some such) Can I use Javascript (or html) to tell when the FLV Video has finished playing... And then automatically call another webpage..
I have created a Flash-based image gallery using a template purchased from Activeden.net and have successfully published this on a dedicated html page that contains nothing but the SWF file. I would now like to learn how to add an SWF movie to an existing web page. In other words, the movie would run within a rectangular space in a position of my choice surrounded by loads of other stuff.
My first attempts to add a Flash movie to an ASP.NET aspx page were only partially successful. The movie runs within its allocated space but I can only see the bottom third. The rest is cut off by the upper edge of the rectangle (which is big enough to take the whole movie).
