View 2 RepliesI've tried to incorporate Flash seamlessly into a website and the results are pretty clean, but when people actually click a button on the SWF, a grey dotted line appears around the sides of the Flash.This is in Firefox 3 only, but that's what the client uses.
View 7 RepliesI'm having trouble when scrolling across keeping my eye focused on the layer I want... is there anyway to change the view so that they alternate between grey and white(or anything like that) or are each there own color..

View 2 RepliesThe website that I built, I used Adobe media encoder and flash to make it a .flv file, the website works fine as far as playing the pages with video in Safari and Firefox, when I go to the same website in internet explorer the video plays with a big black border each of my video's, why would that be ?
View 2 RepliesI've noticed when browsing my flash site sometimes--not on every computer but--when I click on something (like a button) suddenly an outline or border appears around my entire flash movie. Anyone know what causes that and how to make it go away?

I received a Flash project from an outside source. In it I found that some library items had these grey, dashed guide lines. It seems like they are used for assigning resize boundaries or something. Anyways, i can't reproduce them in my own library elements nor can I find any information on them.
I tried all suggestions from the dreamweave forums and none worked.I am placing a CS4 swf movie into dreamweaver CS4 and when I preview in firefox I can't get rid of the 1 pixel white border.Have tried all settings, including setting the wmode parameters to transparentBorder set to 0, frame set to 'top', image set to top.If I change the background of the frame to blue for example, I get a 1 pixel blue line. I believe the problem is in dreamweaver.How do I fix this?

I'm new to programming AS 3 and Im trying to create just a simple puzzle game for learningI am trying to make it so when someone selects a puzzle piece, it becomes selected with a box around it that is dynamically created depending on clip size. I tried adding the clip that was created to be a child of the movie clip that is selected, when I went to drag it though it selected the shadow box instead.
View 3 RepliesThere is a thin border at the top and left margins of my Flash movie when the .html is viewed in a browser. How can it be removed?Here's the movie.One solution suggests replacing some code, but the code they suggest replacing doesn't even exist in my html file.I have found questions similar to mine being asked all over different forums, but their solutions either don't work, or like the above, don't really apply. For such a common problem, finding the solution is getting a little frustrating.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a modal pop up in my Flash application, not unlike the ASP.NET version seen here. I've already got the dialog box made, but I'm trying to add a semi-transparent gray rectangle over everything behind the pop-up, again like the one used in ASP.NET. Is there a way to do this in ActionScript? It needs to be semi-transparent, not fully, so you can still partially see what's behind it. I'm assuming you could apply this property to a Shape class somehow.
View 3 RepliesNo matter what I do though, when I publish the fla file, a small margin appears around the edges.Now, without adjusting the html, can I get the fla file to publish without a border so that it appears naturally as 'full' within the browser?

View 5 RepliesI'm well aware of the Eleos/Microsoft issues that came before IE 8. However this isn't my problem. My company's website is able to display the swf file fine in FF but in IE, as soon as somebody clicks on the swf file, it does its thing without having to double-click (as in the ActiveX issue previously discussed) but also has what looks like a pink border around it. I'm testing in IE and created the Flash component in Flash CS4 using AS 3.0.Like I said before, the SWF object is activated on the first click, and doesn't have to do with the previously mentioned ActiveX control issue.

View 3 RepliesIs it possible to have Flash content from one Iframe appear over the top of content in another Iframe? e.g. as if one wanted to have a drop down menu?I tried exporting an animation beyond movie size, with a windowless transparent setting but that didn't work
View 2 RepliesAfter some search and reading the Graphics class document, I can't find a way to specify the line style of a line. I mean whether the line is a solid one or a dotted one.
View 3 RepliesAs i understand, flash cant assign dashed or dotted linestyles. Ive googled it for a while and found 2 classes which actually draw dashed and dotted lines, but i can't manage to implement it with my drawing tool.

Is there a way to apply styling to the line of a rectangle that is drawn using AS3? So instead of the solid stroke, can I apply a dotted or a dashed one?
View 3 RepliesHow do I make a line dotted programatically? A line can be made dotted if drawn in the IDE, so it's got to be possible, but there doesn't seem to be anything in the Graphics (lineStyle) class to allow for this.

Specifically, I'm trying to change the border size of a text box.
why the skin's overall border (the little 1px line) gets cut off on the right side? Link: [URL] I have not resized the video, so I have no idea why the line would go missing.
View 5 RepliesIf you take a look at my flash movie you will see that I have draggable movie clips, which contain dynamic text fields. These text fields contain text drawn in from a simple xml document. The problem I have is that the text in the text fields is hedged right next to the border of the autosized text box. This makes them look untidy and in the worst case difficult to read. I wonder how I can add some margin to the left and right of the text to fill in some space.The code which formats the text boxes is:
with (main["dragAct"+i].dragActText) {
text = actText[i+1];
background = true;

Flash cs4 was installed and worked fine until lately. I cannot draw, use pen, shape tools, or load any previous pictures created in flash using the actionscript 3.0 new doc create. When I click/drag-- the image is there, but as soon as I unclick the image dissapears. Properties inspector shows that there is content but they are invisible. .fla files that I hve created and saved before open, but page is blank. The weirdest thing is that when I open a new doc using the AS 2.0 selection, everything works fine.I am somewhat coherent in the basic functionality of flash, and have tried the obvious i.e. fill and stroke colors, but I don't remember changing any settings.
View 8 RepliesMy company standard is IE7I'm charged with developing flv that will auto play on PC from a removable thumb drive.in addition it should be able to launch a url.I'm using CS4 Flash and Dreamweaverdeveloping on a Mac.I've used action script 3 to program buttons that start, stop and launch urlI've worked everything out on a Mac.it works fine in Mac environment. when I try load the html web page on the PC with IE7 the flash content (either a swf or flv embedded using Dreamweaver) does not load.IF I leave the IE specific html in the code IE7 returns a message that flash player needs to update. - IT has installed the latest version of flash player.If the swf file auto loads and plays then Why is that a problem?I've not been able to test the code on any other version of IE
View 5 RepliesI had that 'Access denied' error message whenever I tried to access help within Flash CS5 (that's pretty bad). I searched for far too long and found the obscure solution.
During the process I decided it might be safer to access the online help from my browser in the meantime. But with the problem solved I want to switch back to viewing the content through the Flash IDE.
I can't find those preference settings again though
