I'm using Flash Pro 8, and this is my scene right now: For some reason, I can't put anything over the door.I can't draw on it or anything. I can draw on anything else in the room.
I have a website [url]... which has dynamic flash images, the images have the same info in photoshop. However, some of them load as half grey. 1'st page, gallery image 4 and contact page.
I received a Flash project from an outside source. In it I found that some library items had these grey, dashed guide lines. It seems like they are used for assigning resize boundaries or something. Anyways, i can't reproduce them in my own library elements nor can I find any information on them.
I'm new to programming AS 3 and Im trying to create just a simple puzzle game for learningI am trying to make it so when someone selects a puzzle piece, it becomes selected with a box around it that is dynamically created depending on clip size. I tried adding the clip that was created to be a child of the movie clip that is selected, when I went to drag it though it selected the shadow box instead.
I'm using AS3 and Flash Cs5 and trying to make an opening door effect for a flash website.I used this code which seemed to work:
at[0].addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH,goin); function goin(e:Event){ at.push(new Tween(door1,'z',Strong.easeIn,0,-300,3,true));[code].....
But now none of the actions on frame 6 will work now. Its like something in this codeis preventing actions from working in the goto frame. Ive tried stop(); and gotoandplay, and nothing seems to be working.
I'm trying to make a modal pop up in my Flash application, not unlike the ASP.NET version seen here. I've already got the dialog box made, but I'm trying to add a semi-transparent gray rectangle over everything behind the pop-up, again like the one used in ASP.NET. Is there a way to do this in ActionScript? It needs to be semi-transparent, not fully, so you can still partially see what's behind it. I'm assuming you could apply this property to a Shape class somehow.
But when I open the html page in which the swf is embedded, as a full-screen pop-up window, using javascript, the stage colour of the swf is always grey - not the black I set. This happens with whatever colour I set as the stage colour.
I am doing a flashfile with a lots of doors that you can click so they swing open. Now, I wan't only one door to be open at once, so whenever you click on another door, the last open door must close itself automatically. Every door look diffrent from another and have their own open- and close animations.
I'm setting up a scenario with 12 doors, each with unique (but not sequential) instance names. I've set up a variable that, when a door is clicked, it takes on the instance name of that door. This is working. When clicked, the door movieclip plays to a midpoint in it's own timeline and stops (open position). You can close it by clicking the now opened door which returns it to frame one of it's timeline. Now, I'm trying to make the next door clicked check first to see if the previously clicked door is still open. If it is, it will make the previously open door play() <----- this will hit the end of the open door's timeline which resets it to frame one > and then play itself and set it's instance name as the new "lastOpened" door variable.I was able to manually do it (trying to avoid overlap with neighboring doors) by just directly referring to the instance names so I thought it'd be as simple as dropping the instance name and referring to the variable.[code]
The look I am going for is a set of doors that will open to reveal the website, the animation part will give it the look like the doors are opening and then it will go to the site. So two questions.
1) What is the best way to give a realistic door opening effect?
2) How can I make it go to the website once the door opening effect is complete?
I've tried to incorporate Flash seamlessly into a website and the results are pretty clean, but when people actually click a button on the SWF, a grey dotted line appears around the sides of the Flash. This is in Firefox 3 only, but that's what the client uses.
I have dabbled in flash now for a few years and can manage to do some basic things. I client asked if I can make sliding doors for the header of their website using this site as an example[url]...
i have just started to use flash and i am in the process of making a game but im stuck on putting actionscript into one part. i have a character and i want the game to go to the next level (next frame) when he hit the exit door. i know this might sound stupid but i have only just started.
I have a grey rectangle, with a drop shadow that I use as a backdrop for some portfolio images, to view the images and and their explanation I have set up some rollover buttons at the side. Now every piece of type or image I lay over the grey box also has a drop shadow, no matter what I do, they have nothing attached to them in the filter menu....
i have loaded a colorful image. when i rollover this image, then the image has to change in grey scale.i think it can be done with filter adjust color, but i want to do this with scripts.

I have a problem about input text fields. I have an application that uses input text field and users can write and print. The problem is sometimes the input text fields backgrounds prints grey instead of white. In my actionscript code I have the properties to config background and stuff and even so the grey boxes always appear.
The premise of a game is that a character moves between doors when a player clicks on them. The doors change colors when they are clicked and the character can only move between doors that are the same color.
All instances of the door use the same symbol. The symbol contains the following frames:
So, let's say there are two instances of this symbol on stage- one called Door1 the other called Door2. Door1 is on frame 1, Door2 is on Frame 2.
How can I make it so that the player jumps from Door2 to Door1 when door 1 is clicked?
I have a picture and I want the object to be on the left side. When I click on the door on the right side, the object will start moving ( with motion tween ) to the door and when it reaches the door, Scene 2 will appear.
I'm having trouble when scrolling across keeping my eye focused on the layer I want... is there anyway to change the view so that they alternate between grey and white(or anything like that) or are each there own color..
I am using the draw() method of the BitmapData to encode a jpeg of part of the image. Now this should be easy enough given the object I want to draw to the bitmap is on the stage at design time so I know its location and dimetions exactly! Heres the code I have in place.
Code: var myBitmapSource:BitmapData = new BitmapData ( street.width, street.height, false, 0x333333); myBitmapSource.draw(street, null, null, null, new Rectangle( 96, 5, 571, 450 ), true );
I know for a FACT that no part of the street clip I am drawing out is in negative space, and it's registration is (0,0). However, it cuts off A lot of the top of my image. y=5 in the above rectangle is where I need the top to be, but it cuts the top off of the image... even if I change it to 0, it has no effect.
I'm trying to do some lean blitting for an object that rotates by rotating it once at startup and capturing a BitmapData snapshot of each 5 degrees. The problem I'm having is that the draw() method of the BitmapData object is only picking up pixels in the MovieClip that are below and to the right of the registration point. If I change the MC so that the registration point is in the top left corner, I sometimes get what looks like most of the pixels, but the entire object rotates into and out of the frame, since it's rotating around the corner and not the center.
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
