what is the frame code ? for example: drawn arc instead to appear/trail along the leading edge of the door _as_ the door swings open..

I'm setting up a scenario with 12 doors, each with unique (but not sequential) instance names. I've set up a variable that, when a door is clicked, it takes on the instance name of that door. This is working.When clicked, the door movieclip plays to a midpoint in it's own timeline and stops (open position). You can close it by clicking the now opened door which returns it to frame one of it's timeline.Now, I'm trying to make the next door clicked check first to see if the previously clicked door is still open. If it is, it will make the previously open door play() <----- this will hit the end of the open door's timeline which resets it to frame one > and then play itself and set it's instance name as the new "lastOpened" door variable.I was able to manually do it (trying to avoid overlap with neighboring doors) by just directly referring to the instance names so I thought it'd be as simple as dropping the instance name and referring to the variable.[code]

The look I am going for is a set of doors that will open to reveal the website, the animation part will give it the look like the doors are opening and then it will go to the site. So two questions.
1) What is the best way to give a realistic door opening effect?
2) How can I make it go to the website once the door opening effect is complete?

I'm using AS3 and Flash Cs5 and trying to make an opening door effect.I used this code which seemed to work:

But now none of my actions will work in the frame after , Its like something in this code is preventing the AS in frame 6 to stop working.

I'm using AS3 and Flash Cs5 and trying to make an opening door effect for a flash website.I used this code which seemed to work:

But now none of the actions on frame 6 will work now. Its like something in this codeis preventing actions from working in the goto frame. Ive tried stop(); and gotoandplay, and nothing seems to be working.

I am doing a flashfile with a lots of doors that you can click so they swing open. Now, I wan't only one door to be open at once, so whenever you click on another door, the last open door must close itself automatically. Every door look diffrent from another and have their own open- and close animations.

This actionscript 3 stuff is giving me trouble with the easiest functions. I was able to get a movie clip to play by clicking on a button, but now I am having trouble with the close button. Basically, I just need the movie clip (box1) to go back to frame number one when the user clicks on the "X". I set up the button the same way as I did the pop-up box:

I'm new to Flash and am looking to use the following tutorial to create an advanced button. I know it is probably a very simple fix, I just cannot figure it out. [URL] In the tutorial the rollover and onrelease has the following script this.onRollOut = function(){ rewind = true;} this.onRelease = function(){getURL [URL]); } I have tried to change the on.Release command to go to and play another frame in to movie instead of opening a new url. But I'm not getting it to work correctly.

The premise of a game is that a character moves between doors when a player clicks on them. The doors change colors when they are clicked and the character can only move between doors that are the same color.
All instances of the door use the same symbol. The symbol contains the following frames:
So, let's say there are two instances of this symbol on stage- one called Door1 the other called Door2. Door1 is on frame 1, Door2 is on Frame 2.
How can I make it so that the player jumps from Door2 to Door1 when door 1 is clicked?

I have a fla with a button that makes a movie clip appear. The movie clip is draggable (via the DragDrop class I created) and contains a small "close" button which I cannot get to work, so there is no way to make the movie clip dissapear.

On looking into buttons, I understand that to get a movie clip to play when a button is clicked you simply place the movie clip on the buttons 'hit' state. Having done this it does not work? Have I read wrong? Also the movie clip has a background the full size of the stage area. So when I attach this to the button, the button changes size to the same size as the movie? (i.e. whole stage area). How do I keep the button in it's original size while still playing the movie clip with large background?

I have a simulation of a 3d rotation in a movie clip and what I want to do is on button press:
1) check to see if the movie clip is on a certain frame and if it is do nothing
2) if it is less than the 16th frame reverse the movie clip and play until it gets to a certain frame
3 if it is more than the 16th frame play until it gets to a certain frame

I made a vertical list of thumbnails and converted them into a movie clip. There is a total of 20 thumbnails. I masked the movie clips so that it only shows 5 thumbnails at a time. I created keyframes at every point in the clip that 5 thumbnails are shown so that I can pause it.I was trying to use this code to scroll down from the first set of 5 to the second:
on (release) {
design_thumbnails.gotoAndPlay (20)
}
When I click the button nothing happens I'd also like to know how to rewind the movie so that when I press the up arrow it goes up to the previous set of 5.

I have been using flash for a while, but AS3 is a whole new world to me.
I simply want to have a movie (box1) to play when a button (btn1) is clicked.
NOTE: The button is within a movie clip (bulb1) which is within another movie clip (trees).
I tried this, but it just kept replaying the whole animation:

I have a very simple fla i built, all i need is the hover "over" stage to play this tween. On the keyframe I made it a symbol, movie clip. In there all the tweens are set exactly. It seems if you wanted motion on a stage,you would just put that clip on the over stage. I uploaded the fla file: [URL]

I am trying to create a button that will play an imported MovieClip.I have a movie clip that I've imported into it's own layer (Layer1) Frame 1 I've given the MovieClip an instance name offoundationMovie.I've created a button and have that on its own layer(Layer2) above layer1, it is also in Frame 1.I've added a top (); action to layer2The video is not set to autoplay.I want the video to start playing when the viewer clicks the button. I know I've got to put some kind of event listener using AS3 in my timeline somewhere.I've found some code and I've been trying to work with it. I'm sure I've mutilated it beyond usability but this is what I've got.

I have a button on the stage called 'play_btn' and a movieclip called 'movie_mc'. The movieclip has a stop on it's first fame so that it doesn't play on the main timeline. I want to use actionscript to have the movieclip play when the button is clicked.I know i need to do some kind of movie_mc.gotoAndPlay('2') on the button or something like that.

I am using flash. I have a layer containing my movie clip animation. Another layer contains my 2 buttons and a 3rd layer contains my action script. Here is what I have managed to do- I got the stop and play buttons to work so when the movie plays I can click play and then click stop and the animation will stop and play as I ask. I added a stop(); command at the beginning of my script so that when the movie loads nothing plays until I click play. The problem is I would like to click play and allow the movie to continually play over and over even when it finishes. However I would like to keep the movie with my stop(); command so when it loads nothing plays until I ask it to.
what I can do so that when I click play my animated movie clip continues to loop again and again.
