I received a Flash project from an outside source. In it I found that some library items had these grey, dashed guide lines. It seems like they are used for assigning resize boundaries or something. Anyways, i can't reproduce them in my own library elements nor can I find any information on them.
I keep getting dashed lines between keyframes after I select "Motion Tween" in the properties. Even a bouncing ball won't give me a solid tweening line in the Timeline. I created symbols and all but no go.
I'm using Flash Pro 8, and this is my scene right now: For some reason, I can't put anything over the door.I can't draw on it or anything. I can draw on anything else in the room.
I have a website [url]... which has dynamic flash images, the images have the same info in photoshop. However, some of them load as half grey. 1'st page, gallery image 4 and contact page.
I'm new to programming AS 3 and Im trying to create just a simple puzzle game for learningI am trying to make it so when someone selects a puzzle piece, it becomes selected with a box around it that is dynamically created depending on clip size. I tried adding the clip that was created to be a child of the movie clip that is selected, when I went to drag it though it selected the shadow box instead.
I'm trying to make a modal pop up in my Flash application, not unlike the ASP.NET version seen here. I've already got the dialog box made, but I'm trying to add a semi-transparent gray rectangle over everything behind the pop-up, again like the one used in ASP.NET. Is there a way to do this in ActionScript? It needs to be semi-transparent, not fully, so you can still partially see what's behind it. I'm assuming you could apply this property to a Shape class somehow.
Is there seriously no way to convert a vector graphic into a motion guide for Flash? Are the Pen and Pencil tools really the only way to define the path for a motion tween? I have CS3 (Flash, Illustrator, PhotoShop). I just got the trial version of CS5. I have a subscription to[url]... I have searched these forums and the internet in general for hours.
All I want to do is move a symbol around in a circle, but my pen/pencil skills are not sufficient to create a circle. Editing the CS5 motion path has proved exceedingly tedious and not round. There's a perfectly good circle tool in all four applications...
I am using Flex 4 and AS3 and I am trying to make it so that the user can draw a freehand line with the cursor - I have this part done. However, I also need the line to be a dashed line instead of one solid line like it is now. below is my code I am using. I have found some examples on how to do this, but they are all for straight lines, not for a freehand line.
Here's my latest attempt at rendering a dynamic rectange (w/ width, height, border_width, border_color & background_color) I'm trying to render a dashed border, and can't seem to get the code right...
I've reworked my logic about five times, and can get the dashes to render right (almost) but the fill color disappears. It's rendered using actionscript. You can see the issues if you change the border width.[code]...
As i understand, flash cant assign dashed or dotted linestyles. Ive googled it for a while and found 2 classes which actually draw dashed and dotted lines, but i can't manage to implement it with my drawing tool.
But when I open the html page in which the swf is embedded, as a full-screen pop-up window, using javascript, the stage colour of the swf is always grey - not the black I set. This happens with whatever colour I set as the stage colour.
How can I create a rounded rectangle with a dashed line? I've seen several routines that draw their own straight lines, but nothing for rounded rectangles.

It seems like the moveTo function isn't behaving right when I get to the end of each line.
I have been working on a map viewer based blitting technique. As part of the map I need to draw approximately 50000 lines and performance is currently really poor.
[code]This code is drawing a colum chart with two columns and drawing a line across the top of both columns. I have two requirements: the line need to be dashed as of now the line starts from top right corner of the first column to the same corner of the second column. How can i shift the line to the left, so that it starts from center of first column to center of second column.
I've tried to incorporate Flash seamlessly into a website and the results are pretty clean, but when people actually click a button on the SWF, a grey dotted line appears around the sides of the Flash. This is in Firefox 3 only, but that's what the client uses.
My code is on the main timeline.I call a function loop to draw lines between them. The lines are drawing between the right x, y values BUT between those values on the main stage, not those values within the kite. For example, dot1_mc is at x100, y0 inside kite. the line that should go from its center, draws from stage x100, 0.How do I draw the lines inside kite so that they draw between the dots?Heres my code that draws the linesPHP Code:
function loop():void{ lineDrawing.graphics.clear(); var a:Point = new Point(kite_mc.dot1_mc.x, kite_mc.dot1_mc.y); var b:Point = new Point(kite_mc.dot2_mc.x, kite_mc.dot2_mc.y); var c:Point = new
I have a grey rectangle, with a drop shadow that I use as a backdrop for some portfolio images, to view the images and and their explanation I have set up some rollover buttons at the side. Now every piece of type or image I lay over the grey box also has a drop shadow, no matter what I do, they have nothing attached to them in the filter menu....
i have loaded a colorful image. when i rollover this image, then the image has to change in grey scale.i think it can be done with filter adjust color, but i want to do this with scripts.

I have a problem about input text fields. I have an application that uses input text field and users can write and print. The problem is sometimes the input text fields backgrounds prints grey instead of white. In my actionscript code I have the properties to config background and stuff and even so the grey boxes always appear.
I'm having trouble when scrolling across keeping my eye focused on the layer I want... is there anyway to change the view so that they alternate between grey and white(or anything like that) or are each there own color..
I want to align some text to a path but I want it so that the each letter in the text follows the path and goes around curves and stuff. I don't just want a block of text following the path. This is what I am getting no
I have a simple problem, i have only the basic knowledge of AC3 like making simple tweens and doing some if else.
But as you can see, i have a triangle and a motion path. And lets say i need it to tween with an easeIn to the x location of my mouse, so the y location remains on the path, how would i do that?
i am using CS4 on a PC, and I have created my motion guide layers as I normally do, created a path, but when I scrub the playhead, the symbol just goes from point A to point B without follwing my guide. Also they are not snapping to the guide. I have not done a motion guide in a while, what am I missing here. Also where is the pallete to turn on object orienting?
