Required functionality is: MPEG4 video and different VoIP audio decoding (e.g. G.711 or G.729) custom controls waveform representation (or just flexible drawing API) I think about Adobe Flash (or Flex). But I know little about this technology. My biggest concern is multimedia decoding.
Can you recommend Adobe Flex or anything else for this project? What pitfalls can I expect on this way?

Recommend Simple Streaming Music Player With Just Play - Pause And Stop?
Feb 24, 2010I just need something simple, where there is only pause, play and stop buttons. I usually load the music within the flash movie and play from there, but I would like to build one where if you press play, the music loads and plays streaming on the spot. I have got a couple of more complex streaming style mp3 players but I would like to use a simplified streaming version. Any recommendations or code that I can just add to a button?

Jan 30, 2011I'm trying to put a mp3 player on my web page and it should work on iPad. So, I learned iPad doesn't support Flash. However, apparently partly it does. I couldn't find the information on this. How is it possible: [URL]. That is a mp3 player working on iPad (when browsing on Safari). However, it uses audiojs.swf (1644 bytes) and without that it doesn't work at all. How can iPad use the swf if Flash is not supported? What is another good free mp3 audio player that works on iPad.

I have successfully embedded the swf in a web page but when I play the video from the web page the quaility is significantly degraded. Unfortunately I have no control over the internals of the swf so what I would prefer to do is to embed the mp4 rather than the swf. Aug 22, 2011Since recent versions of Flash have come out (perhaps the last few weeks), when loading up the website, [URL] , the flash loading bars show, various SWF files in their layer appear, but then when loading completes, the web page goes blank (usually black, sometimes white).
This occurs on Windoes 7 (64), Vista and XP. It occurs in IE9, IE8, and various Firefox browers. So, I am comfortable believing that it is a recent Flash player issue.
The HTML page loads a file "back.swf" which in turn loads "menu_eo.swf" in level 10 and "intro_eo.swf" into level 5.
What it looks like is that when the intro page finished loading and moves to the correct frame, the screen goes blank.
My clients rarely update their Flash Player, but I asked them to do so this morning. They had the same problem in all those other browser and operating system after updating to Flash Player 10.3.1832.5.

May 18, 2009I need to play a FLV file on a web page, but I don't want it playing in a visible player. That is I don't want there to be the usual Play button and no frame. I want it to work and look much like this link: [URL]. It is similar to those infamous "Mac vs PC" videos which occasionally play on the home page of [URL]. My flash ability in this area is limited. (I'm a Joomla pro but not a flash pro.) Looking at the source code, I see various swf controller file links, and some javascript, I think.
I have no idea what is in the swf files that may or may not be making it all work. First of all I don't even know if it is possible for a FLV file to play above html and then disappear revealing the html when it is finished playing. I assume with the swf and javascript and divs this is possible, but am not sure.Ideally I would love the complete code if possible. Or links to where I can find out how to do it.
Perhaps Someone Could Recommend A Firebug Extension?
Feb 8, 2011I use firebug a lot for my work. Recetnly I have begun to start embedding swfs into html pages, and they don't always work (no!) - debugging can be quite a slow process.
Is there a way I can use firebug to peer inside my swf - often the errors are stupid like pulling in assets with incorrect urls. Perhaps someone could recommend a firebug extension?

Sep 23, 2009I'm new on FMS, but I've managed to create a web page with an embedded player that shows a live stream that I capture with a webcam and FMS. What I need is to be able to pause the live stream from the web page player and to play it again from the point I've paused it. I thought to stream a live video and save it to a file on the server as well, but I don't know how to tell the player to start from the end of the file rather than the begining of it. The client should connect to the page and see the live stream, but he can pause it and continue watching it later from that point, but if a different client connects, he should see the live stream.

Media Server :: RTMFP Protrocol In Flash Player 10.x Is Not Compatible With Flash Player 11.x
Feb 11, 2012I have a swc plugin embedded in my product to stream live video to a group of recipients.The plugin uses the NetStream, NetGroup and NetConnection objects, the server I use to handle the RTMFP session is Influxis.One client creates a group as a publisher, and stream a live video.His Camera is enabled and I can see the video on the screen as well. The others connect to his group and play the video.Peer assisted Networking is enabled for both the publisher and the recipients.The plugin worked well in all 10.x versions (10.1/10.2/10.3)However, when upgrading to flash player 11.x, it stopped working.
-11.x to 11.x isn't working.
-10.x with 11.x isn't working.
-only 10.x to 10.x is working.
The server I use to handle the RTMFP protocol is Influxis.com I sent them the same question as well.The weirdest fact is that I'm using flash builder 4.6 with 4.6 sdk, which is aimed for flash player 11.1, and it is only working with 10.x flash players.
ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Player 11 Performance - The Flash Player Chokes And Skips About 10-20 Frames?
Dec 9, 2011I'm having a performance problem that seem to be related to Flash Player 11.I noticed this mainly because Chrome auto-updates the flash player. So, it's now up to 11 in Chrome. During a sliding section transition, the flash player chokes and skips about 10-20 frames. In essence the content jumps, not a smooth transitions. You can see this at the following url. Using a browser with 10, plays as intended, a separate browser with 11, chokes and jumps ahead.

Adding it to the stage and then animating them in from the left or right of the stage, using Tweenmax. The one I can't show is a series of images, 1280x640 pixels, 10 in total.Removing items from the stage when they are not visible, so I can get the CPU usage back. On Flash Player 10, this is working as intended.On 11 it jumps. I don't think it's the removing assets from the stage that's choking the player, because the above link has the same issue.I feel like this is a Flash Player 11 performance issue.
