Making simple player to allow viewing on website.Adding flv file to create a published player.Works fine after publishing on local system as long as the flv is located in the same directory as the swf player.When copying to a website, it seems the player does not know how to find the video file.
View 1 RepliesI need to play a FLV file on a web page, but I don't want it playing in a visible player. That is I don't want there to be the usual Play button and no frame. I want it to work and look much like this link: [URL]. It is similar to those infamous "Mac vs PC" videos which occasionally play on the home page of [URL]. My flash ability in this area is limited. (I'm a Joomla pro but not a flash pro.) Looking at the source code, I see various swf controller file links, and some javascript, I think.
I have no idea what is in the swf files that may or may not be making it all work. First of all I don't even know if it is possible for a FLV file to play above html and then disappear revealing the html when it is finished playing. I assume with the swf and javascript and divs this is possible, but am not sure.Ideally I would love the complete code if possible. Or links to where I can find out how to do it.
I am looking for a video player that can be embedded in a webpage and can play .swf files. I have tried Strobe Media Playback but it has a lot of bugs to it for .swf.

I tested the video.swf both - both the html doc and the swf file and the skin is in each.I uploaded to my web server the following:1. video.swf,2. skin.swf3 video.html. and4. the AC_RunActiveContent.jsAll are in the same folder.When I goto the url the the video.html is located I do not see the skin ... on line.

View 2 RepliesSince recent versions of Flash have come out (perhaps the last few weeks), when loading up the website, [URL] , the flash loading bars show, various SWF files in their layer appear, but then when loading completes, the web page goes blank (usually black, sometimes white).
This occurs on Windoes 7 (64), Vista and XP. It occurs in IE9, IE8, and various Firefox browers. So, I am comfortable believing that it is a recent Flash player issue.
The HTML page loads a file "back.swf" which in turn loads "menu_eo.swf" in level 10 and "intro_eo.swf" into level 5.
What it looks like is that when the intro page finished loading and moves to the correct frame, the screen goes blank.
My clients rarely update their Flash Player, but I asked them to do so this morning. They had the same problem in all those other browser and operating system after updating to Flash Player 10.3.1832.5.
I am working on an AS3 file for one of my webpages, in Flash it is 660 x 2800 pixels in size, which is relatively large, and to view the entire file contents i need to have a zoom level of 40%! Once publish as an SWF file and uploaded to my webpage, the file appears very small!! I expand the file to as large as possible on the webpage and the file still appears undersized. Obviously I wish it to fill the whole content area.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to use the new unCaughtErrorEvent, as explained here: [URL] When testing the event I run across two problems:
1 - when testing the movie from the flash IDE, the uncaught error is indeed caught and handled (as in the example) BUT the original
error still gets thrown! For example, when loading an XML file that does not exist: - first the uncaughterror event gets called. (good!) - then I get an unhandled event error (ioErrorEvent for not finding the xml file). Isn't the whole point of catching uncaught errors that you can catch ALL these errors? This way it seems rather useless to me.
2 - when testing the uncaughterror handler from a html page, the debugger gives an entirely new error: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.events::UncaughtErrorEvent could not be found. So for now, I'm truly baffled as to what UncaughtErrorEvent is supposed to do and why it doesn't work
I'm trying to pull in dynamic text from a txt file and display in a web page. The text works great when I view the .swf, but when I place the .swf in a web page the text no longer appears. I'm using loadVariables("text.txt", ""); in my ActionScript and text.txt is located in the same directory. I have embedded the fonts and I'm using Flash CS5 and I have selected Classic Text/Dynamic Text.

View 2 RepliesImagine two movieclips, both on the same Y axis. I want one MC to be able to diagonally move to the other MC X axis, all while making a perfect diagonal line until it reaches 100y. So just like this picture, that MC moves in a perfect diagonal until it matches the other MC.x, and 100y (no matter what, it can't go past 100y but must equal 100y). I probably made it sound more complicated than it is.

Is it possible to add a player component to your fla file? In all the documentation I'm finding the only thing I can find is adding it to an flv file. I've run into a roadblock, my flash video encoder is not installed, I no longer have the cds to install it and when I try to export to an mov file its saying that the version of flash is too new for my quick time application. There has to be an easier way to add add controls to your flash movies.

View 2 RepliesI am new to Flash and I am working on updating a website that was created by co-workers in 2009.I was not here when it was created and those people are no longer here to help me out.The website is URL...I am simply trying to update a few of the photos in the flash file that plays on a few of the pages.We recently upgraded from CS2 to CS5.5 and I am working on a PC.When I try to open the SWF file in the Flash Application, it only lets me play it through the player and I'm not granted access to any of the editing tools(see image).I recently found a photoshop file where it looks like they created the animation, but I'm confused how they saved it as an SWF file.

View 6 RepliesI'm trying to put a mp3 player on my web page and it should work on iPad. So, I learned iPad doesn't support Flash. However, apparently partly it does. I couldn't find the information on this. How is it possible: [URL]. That is a mp3 player working on iPad (when browsing on Safari). However, it uses audiojs.swf (1644 bytes) and without that it doesn't work at all. How can iPad use the swf if Flash is not supported? What is another good free mp3 audio player that works on iPad.

View 1 RepliesI'm working on a project that I want to export as a .avi file. I'm using Flash 8. I can go through the steps of exporting the movie fine, but once I try to play it in Windows Media Player, I get this error:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
I've tried playing it in VLC and DIVX player as well I got similar error messages. This is a time sensative project,
I have an mp4 that is wrapped (or published) by an swf. I have successfully embedded the swf in a web page but when I play the video from the web page the quaility is significantly degraded. Unfortunately I have no control over the internals of the swf so what I would prefer to do is to embed the mp4 rather than the swf. I understand Adobe Flash Player supports mp4 since version 9, but I haven't been able to figure out the html to make this happen. Here is the code I am currently using with the swf.[code]...
