I've got a avi file which I can convert to a swf or flv file. What I want to do though is put this on a website with a play and stop button. Progress bar maybe.

I did a 10 second animation in Flash CS5 and exported to a swf file, but my client is asking me a to convert it to a video file with this requirements:
Size: HDTV 720P. (1280 X 720) pixels. 30FPS. (Frames per second)Format: stream format: HDV-HD1. Stream Type: MPEG-2. Transport Stream(TS). Aspect Ratio: 16:9. Britate Type: CBR (Constant Bitrate).
Number of passes: 1. Video Bitrate: 18300
I tried some conversion programs to do the job:
iWisoft Flash SWF to Video ConverterE.M. Magic Swf2AviXilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6Total Video Converter HD All of them recognizes the swf file fine, ( I set up the fla file with 1280 X 720 pixels and 30 fps) but when I try to export to a video format with the previous specifications using any of the programs, I get a very slow video, not smooth at all, and sometimes a large video with 2+ minutes (supposed to be only 10 sec). The swf file plays fine
Can I convert a Flash file to Quicktime or Windows Media Player? If so....how? (Also, is swf the only file format on Flash?) I've been reading I need to download some converter to do this.
View 5 RepliesI downloaded some videos from youtube and vimeo , and when I doubble click on the file, its just an empty container, I do have Flash 8 and my friend helped me a bit to play the file by using Flash 8 , but whenever I wanna play the file, I have to have that Flash plyer in the same folder, can some1 be kind and help me a bit to convert my Flee or Flea , whatever is that called to a AVI or any other types of file , which Premiere can load !

View 1 RepliesWith the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480
- so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400)
- but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish
- and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger
- Position the Player controls below the actual video

I heard about ffmpeg but I don't know how to integrate it with asp.net.As simple solution I can make my clients upload flv files but then I would still need to get a screenshot from that fvl.

Problem: I have two AVI video files... one 4GB (20 minute) long and one 2GB (10 minute) long... and want to combine them to have a single 30 minute long FLV video file.
Question:
- Can I do this in Flash? When I "convert" a single AVI video to a FLV using the File, Import method... I can't really see the video on the Flash time line.
- I tried doing a File, Import for file-1.avi and then doing it for file-2.avi... but the two were on top of each other... and not end to end.
I have a project that will have a video upload capability. The thing with this is when the user uploads it has to of course play in the custom Flash player - the only way for that to happen, to my knowledge, is if that video is in FLV format. how to convert the uploaded video file to FLV (serverside not client).
View 1 RepliesI use FCE to edit video. I then convert the video to flv for delivery (viewing) via the Internet. I've read lots of discussion on how to create the flv. I've tried various methods, including:
1) Since I have Flash installed on my computer, I've used FCE's Quicktime conversion to export/encode directly to flv, and
2) Export an uncompressed QT movie from FCE; then used Flash Video Encoder to convert the .mov to .flv
What's best practice (I'm open to other procedures too)?
I have created a booklet in InDesign cs4 that includes page turn transitions. I have saved it as a SWF file and it works perfectly on my PC with the ability to sweep through the page turns. My issue is now, what type of file can I export the SWF file to so that I can view it on an iPad and am still able to have the page curls?

View 2 RepliesI just updated to CS5 - I'm working on a custom video player. It works fine embedded in a web page both locally and on the network. It works fine in the debug player. However, when I test it in the authoring player I get a NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error and no video. I have tried setting the Local Playback Security publish settings to both local and network - doesn't find the video either way.
It used to run fine in CS4 in the authoring environment.
Is it possible to convert a fla file to a mp4?

View 1 RepliesAfter successfully creating a movie player following the tutorials, I am having problems getting a FLV file named in an XML file to play on the NetStream when called via variable as opposed to naming the FLV in the AS 3 code.
this is the code I have below, works fine when I keep the .flv after the ns.play, but when I remove the quotes and enter the variable name without quotes, nothing happens. The trace on the variable gives me the name of the file I am looking for, (I actually created two variables that trace the same thing), but for some reason, nothing happens.

I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

BUT when i uploaded the entire "site" on my web server - surprize The stream does not start. And i don't understand why. I've uploaded the exact structure ... and i also know that it reads well from the xml file, cause it loads the video thubnails and names ... just the video won't start.

I am loading an external swf file into my swf file in CS4 with AS2. The reason I am doing this is that the external swf file contains a sequence of images and I tried to convert it to flv video but using many tricks and software out there (like converting to AVI and then to FLV) but there was always LOSS in quality. My question is! Is there a SWF player component much like FLV player component, because I need to give the user the ability to stop, pause, rewind etc.... the loaded external swf file?
