Of course, this is especially important for visitors using iPhones! The site logo is part of the Flash movie, which makes it all the more important that something is displayed in the movie`s place. I`ve heard their are ways of doing it with Javascript, but is this really necessary?

Professional :: Template Site - Update XML And Provide New Assets
Jan 27, 2010I had someone create a template site for me that is pretty simple - a single swf that pulls resources from a directory of xml files and assets. In theory, I should be able to update the xml for my site and provide new assets. I know some code and within the xml there are some <font> tags that over ride the swf's formatting or provide and href.
My problem is that I now have to update our logo, which is hard coded into the source .fla file, which I know how to get in and swap out (the guy who did the work is not available). My problem is, when I publish, the new swf with the new logo does not want to read the <font> tags anymore. I have tried everything and I can't crack this. I've narrowed it down to two possibilities:
1. Something in the Publish settings, though I've tried every conceivable variation to no avail.
2. Something in the .as file that defines page template.
I know I need to provide more info but this is a start. I'm working on a Mac (as was the coder) and we were both using CS4.

Oct 10, 2006What I'm looking for is a fairly basic looking MP3 player, with the usual, Play, Stop, Pause and maybe a loadbar, that will only be playing one track. But the catch is, I want to be able to define the MP3 file to be played via the HTML code.My reasons for this is, the player is for a record label's website and they have audio samples for 3-4 artists a month. And it would make my life a lot easier if I could have one standard player for the site and then just change the HTML code, instead of having to make individual .swfs for each MP3, each month. And having to open the player(s) in Flash and define the file in there.

Professional :: Publishing A Flash Video: Player Not Visible - Height And Width Referenced 3-times In Html?
Mar 5, 2010When I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.
6 - I see the Height & Width referenced 3 times in the html file Flash created for me (and none are 640x480, they are 550x400 !)
7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?

Sep 13, 2011I have CS5.5, know very little about Flash, and can't find the answer to this anywhere. I know how to go into Flash, create an ActionScript 3 project, save it, imort a video, add a skin and export it. However, the result is two files. Not what I want.
Is there a way to combine a video file and player skin into one file?
Professional :: F4v File Won't Show Up From The Html File?
Jun 13, 2010I never worked with movie files before and I'm having problems to play a f4v file from a html file.
Inside flash, when I do a ctrl+enter, the video shows and plays just fine.
When building the .html file to play it all, only my presentation and movie skin will show up but the movie won't load.
Even if I do a file > publish the video won't show up or play. Everything I have on timeline is working just fine (and again, even the videoskin is showing up).
Now, do I have to change anything inside publish settings or do I need to try something different with html?

I've run into a roadblock, my flash video encoder is not installed, I no longer have the cds to install it and when I try to export to an mov file its saying that the version of flash is too new for my quick time application. There has to be an easier way to add add controls to your flash movies.

The flash has a preloader but it is still quite long for some to load.
