I am using Flsh cs5. I have created a simple .fla file. But when i publish , .swf and .html file are not created in the folder.And when i test the movie(control->test movie), it doesnt open any window to show the flash.

When I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.
6 - I see the Height & Width referenced 3 times in the html file Flash created for me (and none are 640x480, they are 550x400 !)
7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?
I will be putting a website online, it has been built using dreamweaver with imported flash movies. Now when I put this on the server will the flash still be there? Or do I have to publish every single flash component in the file??
View 2 RepliesI create a file in 5.5, then do a "save as" to create a new file based on the previous file. Make the changes, save it, publish it. Reopen the fla file, and it is not what I saved - it's the file it was "saved as". Needless to say this makes me very unhappy, as I must redo each file again. Sometimes that fails again! May go back to v5.
View 19 RepliesSo I do the usual html publish to copy the code and there's no < embed > tag in the code... only the usual < object > with it's params.
So I mess around with the options of the html publish dialog and no luck, still exports without the embed tag.
So I think.. "hmm that must be a problem with the template of flash cs5" and I go to dreamweaver cs5 and try the insert media > swf option... and still no < embed > !
Did something change in the world where we don't need anymore the embed tag?

View 6 RepliesI have a task to upgrade a web site. I have a map of ND with some cities on it. I needed to add a new city to the SWF which did not seem to be hard (asuming I did it correct). The action on all the buttons for each city look like this except the name after the # is the city selected.

I never worked with movie files before and I'm having problems to play a f4v file from a html file.
Inside flash, when I do a ctrl+enter, the video shows and plays just fine.
When building the .html file to play it all, only my presentation and movie skin will show up but the movie won't load.
Even if I do a file > publish the video won't show up or play. Everything I have on timeline is working just fine (and again, even the videoskin is showing up).
Now, do I have to change anything inside publish settings or do I need to try something different with html?

I have an FLA file and movie and wish to upload the movie file to a server. However, when I click File | Preview in HTML the HTML file fails to generate (I see only the background colour of my FLA in my browser).

I have an intro page that allows users to enter either a high bandwidth (flash) version of the site or a low bandwidth (html) version of the site. The flash has a preloader but it is still quite long for some to load. I was wondering if it is possible and what the best way to have the swf file load behind the scenes on the intro page so that when the use clicks the high bandwidth enterance the swf is already loaded or mostly loaded.

I am a Flash novice and ran into a problem when my Flash generated html file opens in Safari (I'm designing on a Mac) but would not open on a recipient's computer - a PC using IE. I'm using CS5 and set up the file for actionscript 2.0. I know one needs to be sensitive to the various browsers being used, but how does one go about that and how can I begin to troubleshoot my current problem? I didn't use any special coding...I don't know action script yet.

View 1 RepliesI have been using Flash for a while Flash 8 and now Flash 9 I dont know too much about the program, someone wrote the program for me and I update it. When ever I publish the Site to upload to my server I have to go into the HTML file and insert <center> twice to get the site to be center on the web.It is not a big deal to edit the HTML file but every time I do it I figure there must be some button i dont have checked in Flash to just do it automatically.Seems like with such a huge and powerful program that must be an option that I am missing.

View 7 RepliesI have just completed a project and upon publishing it found the swf file to be bloated. I looked at the report found 411K to be Action Script and 10k to be EVERYTHING else! The key is that I did no coding at all. I used the standard motion tweens, but the project is very, very simple. I have one moving graphic and about 10 pieces of text fading/zooming in/out.
View 1 RepliesI've just created a quick video player using the FLVPlayBack Component. When I publish, the HTML file always has a bunch of JavaScript in the <header> tab. What is this JavaScript for? I've tried to move the JavaScript into a seperate file and link it in the HTML file, but the .swf will not load. I've also tried just deleting the JavaScript, but the .swf will not load. I have found the only way to get the .swf to play is to keep the javascript in the HTML file. The problem I am looking at is I am building a webpage that will have two seperate video players, thus requiring two seperate .swf files. What I am concerned about is I'll have to have a boat load of JavaScript in the one HTML page which makes it messy. I've tried searching the internet, but not able to find much help. Is there a way around having to keep the JavaScript in the HTML file?

I have made an animation, when i veiwed it as a preveiw in flash CS4 it works fine.So I published it as both a HTML fie and SWF.The HTML file runs perfectly fine, but the SWF file is missing almost all of the illustrations and the play button at the begining, the sounds all work fine however.

The following script does not generates compiler errors, each function seems to be executed yet the file is not displayed. When trying the same code with myCV.txt and myCV_TA.text = (loader1.data) the text file is displayed OK. Flash MX and actionscript 2.0 had handled that differently but with success?

I have Flash CS3. I have created a flash file. If I click on the SWF file I have no problems opening it It plays. It looks nice I'm the man.However, now when I try to publish it, the HTML file will not work. It says "windows cannot find this file,you have typed the location correctly".I am double clicking directly on the file and not typing anything, in fact I was considering checking on Ebay to see if I could upgrade my PC to have eyes.The feature has worked previously, which leads me to the conclusion that something else has changed. I have tried using the publish setting, I have also tried using Dreamweaver to embed the file, and have also tried manually inserting the necessary code after seeing some on a website.
