Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.But it won't play. I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.

It plays fine in dreamweaver and when you preview it in Firefox or Safari, But when I upload my HTML files and SWF files it does not play and displays the following message "content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player". I created a flash file that contains a flv file inside. After I published it on my Mac in both html and swf format and it played well. But when I copied all this folder include the swf, html and the source flv to test on a pc it played well but the video part (flv) was blank. So I copied the .fla file to pc and published again, then it works fine (including the flv video part) on both pc and Mac. All the settings were same while publishing.So I wonder what's wrong with publish from Mac side? I work with Mac and so it's very inconvenient to publish my work on PC.
View 5 RepliesI made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.
Whenever I publish a Flash project, when I open the html file that is generated along with the swf, I am never able to see the swf embedded in the html file (when I open it in Dreamweaver, for example.) This is frustrating as far as manipulating the html file is concerned. All I see is some text about "Place alternate content here for those w/o Flash Player installed, etc." Why can't I see the swf file? It is there as expected when I upload all the proper files and/or view them in a browser locally. Alternatively, what I am having to do in order to design the html file properly is open a new file and embed the swf manually. But this approach is not good as I am missing out on all the other browser detection features that the html file that is published by Flash includes naturally. How can I preserve this benefit and still get into the details of designing the html file?

On the Ecard is a form to fill out, your name, your email, a comment, and the name and email to the person you are sending the ecard to.[URL].. When you push the "Submit"-button it sends an email to the receiver, and it creates a .txt file on my server with the info.
The .txt-file has a unique name generated by:

I'm trying to create a simple SWF file that can receive the name of a FLV file in the HTML file and play it since I have many FLV files. Basically using the technique of FlashVars. I've set the contentPath/source in the components to be blank, and set my actions in the first frame to be player.source = filename, as was instructed to do so in a Flash book I am reading. I then set the "filename" variable to a file in the same path as the web page in the HTML file, however, all I get is a blank Flash player skin. The FLV file will not load. I also tried setting the "filename" variable to load the FLV from a public website in the same domain and on another domain, but it still doesn't work.
View 5 RepliesI'm trying to get a .swf (a game, with three total .swf files: main, title, game) onto my site and am having a problem. I understand how to actually do it and make it run (publish as HTML, copy/paste code in Dreamweaver, etc..), but my problem is having multiples .swf files and them not loading. When I embed code for one of the files, the page will play that .swf file and won't load the next .swf file (Main just contains a loader that loads title, Title will load the game .swf when prompted, Game will run). If I just 2x click the .swf files in my folder it will work, as will an .exe, but can I make it so each .swf file will play in HTML?

Note that the array is full of sound samples - a complete generated waveform. It isn't an array containing an mp3 or other compressed data.

I have an intro page that allows users to enter either a high bandwidth (flash) version of the site or a low bandwidth (html) version of the site. The flash has a preloader but it is still quite long for some to load. I was wondering if it is possible and what the best way to have the swf file load behind the scenes on the intro page so that when the use clicks the high bandwidth enterance the swf is already loaded or mostly loaded.

I'm using CS5 and set up the file for actionscript 2.0. I know one needs to be sensitive to the various browsers being used, but how does one go about that and how can I begin to troubleshoot my current problem? I didn't use any special coding...I don't know action script yet.

I have Flash CS3. I have created a flash file. If I click on the SWF file I have no problems opening it It plays. It looks nice I'm the man.However, now when I try to publish it, the HTML file will not work. It says "windows cannot find this file,you have typed the location correctly".I am double clicking directly on the file and not typing anything, in fact I was considering checking on Ebay to see if I could upgrade my PC to have eyes.The feature has worked previously, which leads me to the conclusion that something else has changed. I have tried using the publish setting, I have also tried using Dreamweaver to embed the file, and have also tried manually inserting the necessary code after seeing some on a website.

If you go to the about page there is supposed to be a video in the TV that plays, when I use the FTP server to upload the swf and index.html file, where am I supposed to put my video file so flash finds it and it plays? also having the same problem on the portfolio page with my pictures not being there. I dragged the FLVPlayback to the stage and set the source to my FLV file name and set the skin to one of the options. My HTML page calls upon the published SWF file. Do I need to name the additional SWF file to the same name as my skin?
How do you publish the skin file also?
I'm thinking this issue lies with the dimensions of the movie. The FLV says it is 640 x 480. So I went in and modified the Flash document to the same. Do I need to use the Transform tool and make the actual player to these proportions so it fills the stage? - here is where the confusion lies...or is it 'smart' enough to conform. My settings are the default of 'maintain aspect ratio'.
