Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.But it won't play. I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.

i have a movie that has worked fine in past during Html test but ive been doing some dubugging using the flash test latly and it runs fine here but when i go back and try to test in Html mode no errors come just the movie never fully starts (starts up about as much as if there was an error).

I'm making a map creator for a tabletop game. The idea is that the map creator would consist of a 48x48 grid and would allow people to drag items onto that grid and save the positional layout of objects like trees and buildings.So I'm working on the very first steps of this and have written the script so far to dynamicaly generate a 48x48 grid and created a test object to be dragged called "follow".
The dynamicaly generated MC draws from the "grid" MC from the library which consists of two layers; the outline of a box and an MC named "grid_bg" which contains a coloured square (set to the same size as the outline). This is all placed into the "container" MC which by default is empty.This part I get working fine.the "follow" mc is set so that it can be dragged on a mouse click.Now the idea is that if a hitTest is run to see if "follow" is in contact with any of the "grid_bg" MC's and if so, run code (i.e. hide or show the grid_bg mc).
This is where I am encountering problems. If I set the hitTest into a layer within the "grid" MC, it only runs the hit test when the movie is first loaded and ignores you dragging and dropping the "follow" mc. If the hitTest is placed into the actions of the "grid_bg" MC and used in conjuction with an IF statement, it seems to act like there is a collision on every box generated.Code to generate the grid:

I need to pass multiple flash vars into my swf -- I see multiple places in the adobe-generated HTML in which to put the flash vars. While I can do this successfuly for one flash var, I can't for more than one (I'm using something like this at the moment, which works, but cannot be extended URL

My buttons only work when I click on them on the stage while having the "enable simple buttons" option on. They do not work if I try to "test movie," "test scene" and publish it to a SWF. Nothing responds whenever I am in these modes. I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Actionscript 2.0.

I have been working on a flash website inside flash CS5 here at school. I have been working for almost 3 hours with no problems and I have made sure to save from time to time. I have saved with no problems. My problem came when I clicked on test movie. As the movie was loading to test the SWF of the website flash crashed and closed out on me. I had just saved before testing so I could have the latest saved. I double click on my flash document to re-open flash and I get a message that says "Failed to open document."
Right after the message it lists the folder where my file is located. I still cannot get past this message and my file is a website I have been working on for over 3 hours now. I needed this for school and I guess if I can't fix it I will have to start from scratch although I had so much work completed. I even tried to open flash first and then go to file open but that did nothing except give me the same error message. Then I looked under recent documents and clicked on the file document and got the same thing.
I've created a custom textInput componenet that handles it's own validation using a private validator. The validation is enabled depending on the state of the component i.e. validation is enable when the components state is "edit".However, when the state changes from edit the internal validator is set to not enabled but the validation errors on the textbox do not clear - the textInput still has the red border and on mouseover the validation errors come up. What I want to happen is that when a validator is disabled the error formatting and error messages clear from the text input control.
Does anyone have any idea how to do this I tried setting the internal validator instance to enabled = false and dispatching a new focusOutEvent as below but the validation error formatting is still applied to the textInput contrl.

Let's say I create an empty movieclip called "Test_mc", then I create an as3 class "Test_mc" like below and then I set the movieclip class to "Test_mc".

Now I can drag out instances of the Test_mc into the scene and get red circles when I test the movie. The problem however, is that I can't see the circles on the canvas inside the Flash IDE. Is there a way to get these actionscript generated grapics to show up?
Compilation failed while executing: as. I am publishing a swf with one frame, no scripts, no graphics, nothing. This is a result of removing asset after asset from my original swf, which produced the same publishing error, in an effort to determine what the issue is. What conclusion can I draw from this? I just want it to do what it says on the tin: Publish flash to iOS apps. Why is this not possible?
View 4 RepliesI'm currently developping a quite big (multi-lingual) application in Flex and I'm now confronted to a problem.I have to do some custom Buttons which have special fonts, special design (like shadow corner radius etc)and the most important, which are oblique not straight.I've made the button in Flash from which I've exported it in SWC.The thing is that, I need different buttons with different labels/icons/backgroundColors.So I would like to know, if there's a way to pass variables to the button class through theSWC file in order not to has one file for each button and each language.

I created an multilanguage application with the "strings "panel. My customer need to put some words in italic inside the dynamic textfield. So I used <i> tag or cdata tag insied the xml, but nothing works, even if I put the textfield in "html" format. So How can I do. Do we need to change the "locale.as" class?
View 3 RepliesWhenever I publish a Flash project, when I open the html file that is generated along with the swf, I am never able to see the swf embedded in the html file (when I open it in Dreamweaver, for example.) This is frustrating as far as manipulating the html file is concerned. All I see is some text about "Place alternate content here for those w/o Flash Player installed, etc." Why can't I see the swf file? It is there as expected when I upload all the proper files and/or view them in a browser locally. Alternatively, what I am having to do in order to design the html file properly is open a new file and embed the swf manually. But this approach is not good as I am missing out on all the other browser detection features that the html file that is published by Flash includes naturally. How can I preserve this benefit and still get into the details of designing the html file?

Yes, I'm also using Maven). Can I eliminate or disable this warning?The code which generates the warning is below, though I would definitely prefer not changing the html - as I say this is the template suggested by Adobe. On the Ecard is a form to fill out, your name, your email, a comment, and the name and email to the person you are sending the ecard to.[URL].. When you push the "Submit"-button it sends an email to the receiver, and it creates a .txt file on my server with the info.

I am creating a 4 frame application demo which stops on the first frame and lets the user navigate to other frames using buttons. I've done something very similar before and didn't have this problem. Now with this new project I've created the pages in photoshop and imported them onto the stage. The dimensions are 1024/768 px. When I go to Control -> Test Movie -> In Flash professional. The window pops up very small , but the page looks nomal size so i get the top left portion of the design. Then when i expand the window, instead of seeing the rest of the design the desing floats to the bottom right as I pull the window open leaving all this white space around the top and left margins.

View 3 RepliesI am putting together a Flash Form. I had it all finished and posted it on a testing site, then I realized there was a problem.I have form validation that works like this. If a user hits the submit button but has not entered information in all of the required fields, the user will get an error message telling them to input all required information. However, there is a workaround. It seems that Flash sees the value of the "spacebar" as a positive value and lets users get past my validation.I need to assign the "spacebar" a value, make it a variable, or something along those lines. Then tell it to be equal to "0", which is not an acceptable number to pass my form validation.
View 5 RepliesI created a graphic on one layer in my timeline in FLASH CS4 and then added a new layer above it with text to create a zoom out effect. When I click Control>Play the movie plays fine with the text zooming out as it is supposed to but when I click Control>Test Movie the movie shows white with the text constantly visible and the graphic flickering on (visible) and off (not visible) so fast that it's barely visible.
