Flex :: Disable Eclipse Warning About Generated Html?
Jul 25, 2009
When developing Flex projects, Eclipse gives warnings about the default index.html file generated by Flex Builder. The file is in the 'target' folder (or "generated artifacts" folder. Yes, I'm also using Maven). Can I eliminate or disable this warning? The code which generates the warning is below, though I would definitely prefer not changing the html - as I say this is the template suggested by Adobe. Eclipse warns of "Undefined attribute name (xxx)" for scroll on the body tag, and most of the embed attributes.[code]
I did suppress warnings in flex compiler using "-show-binding-warnings=false". But what I am interested to achieve is to suppress run time warnings (especially binding warnings - since I am getting data in model mostly in XML structures and it is fine for me if its unable to bind to its nested child nodes) in console (I am working on flex on Eclipse with the flex plug in). Is there a way to achieve it?
I am working with FLAs created by another developer. The swfs are live and working. What happens when I open the FLAs and publish from Flash Cs4 is this:The actionscript is not in the action window. In it's place is this: // Warning: in this unregistered version, no Action Script will be generated while exporting the FLA.The SWFs do not work, all actions are removed.
Note: I am not using any compilers, etc. although I do have a trial of Swish installed. I just recently installed and started using CS4.
When I called Adobe, they confirmed that my version of CS4 is registered correctly, and advised me to simply remove the warning text, and re-write the actions. This is not an option, as I have hundreds of FLAs to edit, and I KNOW the code was in there and working before I opened the FLAs in CS4.
Data binding will not be able to detect assignments to "data"
I know that the data provider will be never changed in this case, and want to suppress this warning in this case, but I don't want to completely disable it, -show-binding-options=false in all project is not an option.
I'm using mxmlc to compile '.as' scripts. Is there anyway to disable the 'internal visiblity' warning that occurs if you don't stick 'internal ' before all var/function decls?
i am working on an application which has a huge data. whenever i run my application, the flash player tells me that if i continue, then the system might become unusable.if i choose to continue, then i get correct results. so is there a way by which,i can disable this warning.
I want to run the Flex SDK 4.5.1 on Eclipse IDE. I have followed this http:[url].....step by step and it was same as it was written. But then when i first built my sample code and ran it, it gave me these errors. I cant figure out what the problem is:This is the sample code:
and these are the ERRORS: Loading configuration file C:Mario's FilesSTFFlex SDKflex_sdk_4.5.1.21328frameworksflex-config.xml _application_Styles.as(24): col: 38 Error: Syntax error: expecting rightparen before s.[code]....
Do we have to get a compatible Eclipse-FlexSDK-Flash version??
In Flash Builder, for objects, properties, variables and such where your cursor is on it, the editor highlights all instances of that name in the code with a grey box. This can be very distracting and I was wondering if there was a way to turn it off or if there is a hot key to disable it.Another things that is very distracting are the mouse hover popups, although apparently there's no way to disable those :
I am getting Warning: 'flash' has no property 'prototype' every time I load a swf in my flashlog.txt.Does anyone know how to disable that warning or all warnings in the mm.cfg file or maybe some other way?
how to tell what is causing Internet Explorer to give a security warning for some flash videos on my site? I've looked through the HTML and can't find anything, so it appears to be somewhere in the Flash itself.
I'm a very new user to AS3 and I'm attempting to migrate a site from Flash CS3 to CS4 on a Mac. I keep getting the following compile warning: "Warning: Actions on button or movie clip instances are not supported in Action Script 3. All scripts on object instances will be ignored." This is very confusing to me. I thought that scripts could be attached to both frames and objects? Is this a bug that is a result of switching from versions? Or is this warning true; and I have to abandon all uses of attaching scripts to objects on the stage?
Also: Can anyone illuminate me on the keystroke to call the actions window in AS3? It is supposed to be the F9 function key and another that I can;t locate on my keyboard!? As I said,I'm a very new user, so be kind!!
Eclipse has a built in functionality to find unused variables (and methods too I guess). Flash Builder 4 is built on top of Eclipse but it doens't have that functionality. Do you know any plugin to achieve that functionality? Also, if you know any other kind of plugin besides SourceMate to improve Flash Builder let me know.
I created an multilanguage application with the "strings "panel. My customer need to put some words in italic inside the dynamic textfield. So I used <i> tag or cdata tag insied the xml, but nothing works, even if I put the textfield in "html" format. So How can I do. Do we need to change the "locale.as" class?
Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.But it won't play. I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.
Whenever I publish a Flash project, when I open the html file that is generated along with the swf, I am never able to see the swf embedded in the html file (when I open it in Dreamweaver, for example.) This is frustrating as far as manipulating the html file is concerned. All I see is some text about "Place alternate content here for those w/o Flash Player installed, etc." Why can't I see the swf file? It is there as expected when I upload all the proper files and/or view them in a browser locally. Alternatively, what I am having to do in order to design the html file properly is open a new file and embed the swf manually. But this approach is not good as I am missing out on all the other browser detection features that the html file that is published by Flash includes naturally. How can I preserve this benefit and still get into the details of designing the html file?
This is my first experience with PHP, so bare with me. I've made an Ecard using Flash and Dreamweaver. On the Ecard is a form to fill out, your name, your email, a comment, and the name and email to the person you are sending the ecard to.[URL].. When you push the "Submit"-button it sends an email to the receiver, and it creates a .txt file on my server with the info.
I need to pass multiple flash vars into my swf -- I see multiple places in the adobe-generated HTML in which to put the flash vars. While I can do this successfuly for one flash var, I can't for more than one (I'm using something like this at the moment, which works, but cannot be extended URL
warning: unable to bind to property 'image' on class 'XML' (class is not an IEventDispatcher)Is there a way I can turn off this type of warning (but keep the others) as it is driving me crazy when I try to trace something else.
In my flex app I have some radio buttons. When a user clicks the radio button, I want to popup an Alert, and if the user clicks ok the radio button will change, otherwise their change will be discarded.
How do I accomplish that? I tried event.preventDefault(); while handling the click event, but that didn't do anything.
I have installed eclipce and I want to work with flex.I found some site (url...) where somebody said that we need to install flex sdk. And than they said that we need to open window->preferences and on left side select 'Flex'. But I don't have 'Flex' item here... What is wrong? I also installed Flash Builder trial, but it does not make any sence.
I am getting the error: warning: unable to bind to property 'Description' on class 'Object' (class is not an IEventDispatcher)
this is only when the data is bound to a List as an ArrayList, though. I had it in a Datagrid before (just as an Array) and it did not cause any issue. I'm not expecting to be able to bind any data back to the class 'object' not even sure which object exactly it's referring to.
My list data-provider is an ArrayList.. populated by a result event from an SQL query contained in another class:
private function loadDayComplete():void { var Meals:Array = _day.MealResults;
[Code].....
The day class I have is a data holder to get all the data (from several tables) for a 24 hour span.. I have classes for each individual datatype for editing them. But I'm not sure do I even need to worry about the warning if I don't plan on editing the values? it completely spams the console though whenever I touch anything, so I really would like to get rid of it. I tried an object proxy as I saw described elsewhere but nothing changed. The text is in label fields right now anyway, which can't even be edited.
I've migrated to FDT from flashdevelop and kind of have a hard time getting things to work the way I'm used to. In Flashdevelop, you could easily choose if the compiled swf was a release or debug version. In FDT however, it seems like there is no way to compile a version that has debugging information without it automatically opening up the debug perspective with a ton of debug windows, a profiler and actually entering debug mode.
As an extra plus, I keep getting a message saying "This feature is only available in FDT Max", although from what I know the debugger is included in the free version. Is there a way to do what I'm trying to do or should I just get used to this new way of working?
I installed Flex Builder plug in (3.2) into Eclipse 3.4. The installation had no errors, but I get this error when trying to start a new Flex Project. The selected wizard could not be started.
[url].... was unable to load class com.adobe.flexbuilder.apollo.ui.wizards.flex.FlexApolloProjectWizard. com/adobe/flexbuilder/editors/common/ui/project/wizards/AbstractFlexProjectWizar d
I have tried re-installing several times, even tried the older eclipse versions.
Is it possible to add multiple Flex Modules at a time to be built in a project as opposed to adding them one by one, as this is becoming a very tedious task. This is for both Eclipse and Flash Builder 4
