I'm new to this so I downloaded the script to create a simple slide show. The swf plays perfectly locally, but when embedded in my html page, it gives me a blank black box. I have attached the xml file and here is a link to the test site. The large box is the image in question.

I currently have a carousel that displays multiple SWF files and I don't want any overlapping of video or audio. I've been looking into LocalConnection and JavaScript options but with no luck. My SWF files are currently ActionScript 3 and Flash Player 10. I have a large play button on them, with the ActionScript code:

I am trying to embedded a SWF file into dreamweaver. It plays fine in dreamweaver and when you preview it in Firefox or Safari, But when I upload my HTML files and SWF files it does not play and displays the following message "content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player". View 2 RepliesUsing Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.But it won't play. I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.

I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.
Can't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home.All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).

I'm trying to create a simple SWF file that can receive the name of a FLV file in the HTML file and play it since I have many FLV files. Basically using the technique of FlashVars. I've set the contentPath/source in the components to be blank, and set my actions in the first frame to be player.source = filename, as was instructed to do so in a Flash book I am reading. I then set the "filename" variable to a file in the same path as the web page in the HTML file, however, all I get is a blank Flash player skin. The FLV file will not load. I also tried setting the "filename" variable to load the FLV from a public website in the same domain and on another domain, but it still doesn't work.
View 5 RepliesI created a flash file that contains a flv file inside. After I published it on my Mac in both html and swf format and it played well. But when I copied all this folder include the swf, html and the source flv to test on a pc it played well but the video part (flv) was blank. So I copied the .fla file to pc and published again, then it works fine (including the flv video part) on both pc and Mac. All the settings were same while publishing.So I wonder what's wrong with publish from Mac side? I work with Mac and so it's very inconvenient to publish my work on PC.
View 5 RepliesI made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

Now which is this HTML file ? Is it the index.template.html file per project or the HTML file created per MXML application ?

However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
I was wondering if anyone has came up with a way to float html elements, with some content, over .swf without triggering any flash events.
In my case the problem is I have flash map, and drop down menu on top of it.
I simplified this into the following example:

View 1 RepliesI am trying to make a swf with one FLV playback player and 6 buttons. I've got 6 different videofiles that I want to have linked to this swf. Some of the videos are quit large.When starting the Swf, the first video has to start, after playing it, it has to stop. Then you must be able to choose which video to play by clicking one of the buttons. I don't want to have small thumbnails of the video, just plain and simple buttons.I have to have all my files, both fla, swf and xml files in the same directory (I cannot have them stored in different folders, since I have to upload this to a cms system which has limited upload properties).
I've tried to find the right script on the internet, I'm not very good at scripting myselve, actually rather poor educated there.It seems to me that I have to make an xml file with a list of all my videos, I have my default swf ready, with a FLVplayback and buttons.Now there's just the coding part....
I have created two buttons for separate audio files. Essentially if you click on the button it will play and stop. This works great! I have also injected a SoundMixer.stopAll(); to ensure if you click between both buttons that it will stop the current audio file to play the next one. My problem is when I select the 2nd button for the first time everything seems to be working...it's when I attempt to click on the first button again, that it will require 2 clicks and then it stops and plays accordingly...anyone know how I could eliminate this annoying two click process?

What am I missing here because my video doesn't have any controls? Is there a special parameter I need or do I need to encode the SWF file in a special way? I just used a MPEG to SWF converter provided by Blaze Media Pro.

I don't want to make different htm file, neither put a button on flash(ie on click...). I just want after a few seconds and after the flash has ended, the flash will go away and the page will appear.

I have a "movie player" that plays flv files using the code below (videoToPlay is the name of the file to play and is just a string). I want to use the same setup to play an mp3 file also.I tried using mySound = new Sound(); and then mySound.attachNetStream(ns);, but it gives me this error: 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method attachNetStream through a reference with static type flash.media:Sound.

View 1 RepliesI have a .mov movie that I want to play on my website. In years past, I would use Adobe Video Encoder CS3 (I believe that's what it was called) and would turn the file into a .flv. Then, I believe I would use swfobject and it would display with the typical play and expand to full size buttons as well as the timeline.
I downloaded the latest version of swfobject (2.2) but this only seems to play swf files.

Whats the best way to have my movie play only when the homepage loads? I have the movie on every page as it is my navigational bar however I dont want it to play except when somebody loads the homepage, and I dont want to create a static version because then my site will have to load 2 versions.Is there some query code in actionscript to query the current URL of the loaded page? I guess I just set up a conditional statement and if its true, gotoAndPlay.
