May 22, 2010I have use flash sparingly in the past. I am well versed in computers, but we can flash, very weak. Let's say this I do know how to get into Flash. This is the address for what I'm trying to accomplish. You can see the navigation in the upper left corner [URL].
I am trying to develop a menu tree that has these basic functions:
1. No heavy graphics - basically the information is more textbased.
2. The menu tree works within two tabs.
3. The menu tree using rollovers.
a. The rollovers display a graphic image or text in a "TV" box, display, underneath the actual menu tree.
"Master Swap Action" - there is also a horizontal tab selection available. The master display, largest display area, is changed based on the "Master Swap Action". Also, the menu tree is swapped out. The two areas that are swapped out correspondent to the tab's that were selected. Here is a small sample of how we control the Menu currently. It uses a language called iMint.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Have 2 Images One For The Menu And One For Rollovers?
Dec 31, 2006Is it possible to have 2 images one for the menu and one for rollovers and have actionscript determine which buttons I rollover? For example - I have a menu that I created in a graphics program with a background color, 7 buttons (HOME, ABOUT, etc) with text, and separators. I also have a rollover graphic with a different background color with the same 7 buttons with text, and separators.
Is it possible with actionscript, say I rollover HOME and it displays the rollover graphic but only over HOME and the same for the other buttons? I thought it would be easier using two images instead of separating the buttons etc.

I would like to house 3 more mcs or btns inside for a drop down (about mc has a tween to make the size of the drop down) The problem is i cant seem to put any more mc's or btns inside the existing mc because things seem to cancle themselves out. I have also tried attaching a movie clip with the extra btns to the stage to solve the problem but that does not work either.

Feb 16, 2010- The menu scrolls to the left when mouse is over the left side of the menu (there will be an arrow pointing left), and the menu reacts in the opposite fashion when the mouse is over the right side of the menu- The menu is constantly scrolling in the left direction when the mouse is not over the left or right arrow- The menu stops scrolling (or slows down) when the mouse scrolls over any of the items in the side-scrolling menu.

Mar 15, 2006I'm working on a flash website which is published as a 100% x100% with no scale but I want to add a menu wich has to been shown always at the left of the screen. At home I've got a resolution of 1024x768 but on my work 1920 x 1200. In both cases I like to see the menu in left. Because i like to design some sort of paper strips wich are only visible for like a bit. On a mouseover it will be totally visible. Do I need to add some actionscript with a screensize detection and then some code with _y _x and stuff to place it or do I need to change the settings for the html publish? Flash 9 :: Right Side Of Text Box Cut Off
Oct 16, 2008I have some text boxes nested inside a movie clip. In flash, all looks good, but when i publish the swf, the right side of the text box appears cut off just a little. The text is aligned right in the box. Has anybody seen this before and/or know how to fix it?

1. Timeline has only 2 frames
1. Make movie clip and give it an instance name (in this case: box_mc). Make sure this takes up frame 1 and 2 on timeline.
2. On a sparate actions layer on frame 1 put this down:
mouse_x = _xmouse;
setProperty (_root.box_mc, _x, mouse_x+((getProperty(_root.box_mc,_x)-mouse_x)/2));
3. On frame 2 of actions layer put:
gotoAndPlay (1);
how to do this in AS3? I really want to be able to have 3d rotation tweening in my flash file and AS2 won't let me do it.

Nov 11, 2010I am on a tight deadline and looking for the AS3 code of how to do what this company does on their site:URL...However, I don't know AS3.Literally my project requires I recreate the what is shown with the hand holding the sharpie and moving only back and forth restricted to a centered rectangular area at the bottom of the screen.I know how to import the image that follows the mouse to the stage, and to make it a movieclip. Let's say I have named the instance "Image_mc".Does anyone have the actionscript for how to do this? Do you attach it to the object or to a keyframe on a separate actions layer?

Sep 22, 2011How would I be able to create a scene where you scroll left to right using the mouse, but instead of having it at a constant rate and having the picture (background) move when your mouse is at a certain x coordinate to have it be that when you move the mouse away from an object the background will move, and will move faster the farther away the mouse is? I have tried scrolling back and forth with x coordinates, but I haven't been able to get this to work.

Feb 1, 2010This was super easy using AS2. I had 2 'loader' movie clips placed on the stage and simply used the loadmovie to bring up the external swfs. How would i accomplish this using AS3? I simply need one movie to display on one side of the stage, and another on the other side of the stage. do i still use these 'loader' movie clips?

Aug 15, 2011I have a stage on the iPhone Project in AS3/CS5, where I want two buttons to appear side by side with say 5 pixels between each button. It's the standard iPhone stage, 320x480. I can position them vertically fine, but side by side, the second button overlaps the first.
The first button, [Twitter], begins at position 10, and is painted out to 200 pixels from the right side of the stage. that is 190 pixels wide.I want the second button to begin 200 out from the left, and be painted for hmmmm 190 pixels. Too wide. Ok, adjust button widths. but you see what I mean I hope. It's probably something simple, but I can't just see it.
So really the question is, how do I get the second button to start at a position 5 pixels after the first one ends? I'll probably have to adjust the button widths so they both fit, but that's ok, so long as they are aligned left, and say 5 pixels apart[code]...
