View 2 RepliesI am creating a maths quiz...There are 2 input text fields..The instance names of 2 input text fields are inputField and inputField02. There is one dynamic text field to display the result....The instance name of dynamic text field is resultField.
Code:
var a: String;
var b: String;
a=inputField.text;
b=inputField02.text;
answer_btn.onRelease = function() {
resultField.text = a/b;
}
However when I press on answer button, the result displayed is NaN.
we all know its possible to make a share button for face book which allows users to share whatever item. but when we are directed to that page the user has two options. press the "cancel" button which of course closes the window, or to press the "share" button which then adds the item to the persons wall.
what i'm trying to do is determine if that share button has been pressed. see because when they press it i want my swf to trace out a message saying "thanks for sharing my item" and while i can redirect them to the page i have no way of knowing if they shared it or not. my idea was to use an enter_frame event and try and see if any data was being sent via php. because thats what the button would be doing when pressed. but i haven't had any luck making that work. here is the code so far. its a tutorial as the focus is at my problem:

i have something like a flv player in my flash site and i load different flvs depending on user interaction. I want to add a "share on facebook" functionality so the videos will be shared on fb in a way similar to youtube sharing. I've serached a lot but there seems to be a lack of documentation on this subject.
View 0 Replieshow to open the Facebook Share page above my flash content inside of a div.
Here is the JS I would use to open it in a new window:
function facebook_share() {
u="http://thepageiwanttoshare.com";
t="pagetitle";
[Code].....
I then call this JS code from flash with ExternalInterface.
This code will basically open the facebook share page in a new window 626x436 with no toolbar etc.
This works perfectly, but I want to take this functionality and instead load that content into a specific div, which I guess I can then place above my Flash (using the z-index of the div and the wmode transparent param on the flash embed statement).
This doesn't seem like it would be too difficult, but I have never done something quite like this before. I heard that Adobe AIR actually has a Window class that can be used like an html window within flash, but unfortunately I am using AS3/Flex SDK.
Anyone have experience with this? I'm not much of a javascript person. This would be the code you could use on an html page.
I fugure you somehow have to have flash read the js file from fbook and then pass the share_url variable to it?

I'm trying to duplicate the behaviour of the "Share on Facebook" button from Youtube. Basically, inside a Flex app I'll have a button and when I click it I want a popup that enables me to post something on the wall. While it is possible to make a call to javascript to open the pop-up I want to be able to set the images and the text of my posting. How I could set the images or text as a parameter to the sharer window?

I'm developping a flash photo gallery with deeplink and i would like to enable the user to share the photos on their facebook wall. I tryied to find some tutorials explaining how to achieve that but unfortunatly I had no luck. The ones I found don't enable me to customize the wall post (these fields: title, description, url and image)

How to share TextArea Component in multiple swfsaylib.swf (has TextArea Componenet)main.swf (Import TextArea Componenet from lib.swf)section.swf (Import TextArea Componenet from lib.swf)
View 1 RepliesAnyone know where to start thinking about logic for an XML quiz with multiple correct answers, that when the user gets the question right, that question is removed from the random array of questions so we never need to answer it again?
View 0 RepliesI'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
var permissions:Array = ['publish_stream'];
Facebook.login( onFacebookLogin, { perms:permissions.join(',') } );
However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):
Facebook.ui( "stream.publish", "popup", params );
Does anyone know of a work around this issue to make the share popup come up just like the login popup?
I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.
View 5 RepliesI have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it.
I am using the same code lines (literally!) as the example here (official adobe tutorial) and I get different result.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??
I am using a Flex widget for my facebook application. How can I get the current user's facebook ID?
View 1 Repliesi need to connect to have a button on my website that connects to facebook (if not already logged in) and posts to the users wall.I've only done this from within an iFrame - do i still need AppId etc etc?
View 1 RepliesI have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :
function postToFeed() {
var obj = {
method: 'feed',[code].........
I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
I can't find in the Adobe Facebook API how to log the user out of Facebook. The FacebookSessionUtil (and the related sessions and Facebook classes) all have a .logout() function, which will invalidate the user's current *session* within the swf, but it doesn't log the user out of Facebook.
What am I missing here? How are you supposed to log the user out of Facebook with this API? Since it's part of the TOS for Facebook Connect apps, you'd think this would be available in the API somewhere.
After I upload a photo on a desktop facebook application i need to store it's post id in a database. From the facebook ActionScript SDK documentation:pi() methodpublic static function api(method:String, callback:Function, params:* = null, requestMethod:String = GET):voidMakes a new request on the Facebook Graph API.Parameters [...]callback:Function — Method that will be called when this request is complete The handler must have the signature of callback(result:Object, fail:Object); On success, result will be the object data returned from Facebook. On fail, result will be null and fail will contain information about the error.
So I implemented my callback function as follows:
protected function handleUploadComplete(response:Object, fail:Object):void{
status = (response) ? 'Success' : 'Error';

I have the details in my flash and swf file, but I'll explain what's happening. If you click on the green "i", it opens a window, you can drag the window by the top bar next to the exit and minimize. But unfortunately, if you close this window and open other (duplicate of MC), you can not move the window like you can on the original. My guess is that the AS does not carry onto the duplicate; I am stuck right here, if I can get this fixed, it will fix a lot of my other animations. I've been trying to search for this on Kirupa, but there are no results
Code:
on (press) {
bn = "window" add n;

I'm wondering if you can either specify a specific path of where to save your S.O.'s? I'm trying to share a S.O. between two swf's. I know they get saved here:
Code:
C:Documents and SettingsusernameApplication DataMacromediaFlash Player#SharedObjects
and right now they reside under two seperate folders (named after the two swf's) under the localhost. The script for retrieving and saving, as well as the S.O. name are all the same for both files although the swf file names are the same.
I have to do a quiz, which will be a random 5 questions from among the 20 I have no idea how to go about doing this, please help.

At the end I have to sum the answers and show the result to the user but I can't get it.
Here is the code (I'm kind of new to actionscript, sorry if the code it's too long):
Code:
var p1=0;
var p2=0;
var p3=0;
