ActionScript 2.0 :: Turning Html Code Into A Flash Button?
Mar 20, 2008
I have some html code that is for a button in html that when pressed sends you to a certain url but also somehow adds an 'id value' and a 'website value'.
How can I convert this code and or put it into a flash button?
Disregard the gif info...that's just for the html graphic that goes for the button.
sometimes Flash Authoring colors my actionscript inappropriately. for example: i have custom variable that i've named "closeButton". closeButton does not reference any of the official classes yet it always colored blue as an identifier. i'm assuming it's referencing some internal, private variable from some class in the frameworks. is it possible to remove the color for specific identifiers?
i'm having trouble finding a tutorial on this through google. in html, i have this code on a text link:Code:<a href="page1.html" onclick="return loadIframe('ifrm', this.href)">Page 1</a>basically just returns a page's height to the iframe called ifrm so that the height of the iframe will be dynamically changed.the page's nav is being changed to flash, so i need to somehow script that snippet into a flash button. normally i'd use something like:
there is a simple solution to this. I have the following onclick HTML code that I'd like to get working in a flash environment:<a href="#" onclick="jwplayer().load('movie.mp4')">Click Here</a>I am familiar with the following kind of button code for Flash, but am open to any ways if they work better:
- I made a flash-based website using Flash CS3 and then embedded the file into a blank html page with Dreamweaver cs3.-All my buttons, linking, and content were made in Adobe Flash CS3 using ActionScript 2.0 (AS2).The issue I am encountering is that when i click on some buttons that have get URL codes, they will not load the html files assigned to the As2 code of the button. The html files are supposed to load in a separate browser window for each html page assigned to each button. The html files are located within subfolders in my Main Site Root Folder. All my AS2 code is Object-based; meaning I applied it directly to my button symbols.
I'm trying to create a series of scripts that will create some custom event listeners. I have three movie clips on my stage. One is a movieclip who's sole function is to hold array's and the event listeners. A second which moves around the screen. And a third that is motionless.
The problem is that the argument I want to test (which activates the custom event) is held within a string.
What I want to know is, how do you test to see if the string argument is true?
Is it something similar to this:
[Code]...
I think I'm going about this in the wrong manner, however this is the only way I can think of this working (since I need to be able to dynamically create these events)
I'm retrieving an unformatted String from a twitter feed. I want to be able to turn a text URL (http://blah.com/qwerty/) into a link but don't know how...is there a handy regular expression for this?
a flash/flex application for turning wiki Google like mark up into html. In actionscript and mxml. Is there anything like that? When do you need such thing? - you need it when you create an app for some multiple editors at the same time to work on one document, probably on same line and share ideas while live wideo charting. Such app can be done using as3 and Red5 for exalmple...
I'm building a survey in flash and I have multiple movie clips that cover the entire work area and are layered on top of each other, cycling through them (page to page) by tweening alpha on/off. I'm pretty happy with the way it looks except for the fact the buttons. While I can not see them, my cursor still turns into a hand if I happen to scroll over them.I've tried using, useHandCursor = false; and buttonMode = false; without any luck. Can anyone tell me how these commands work or can you tell me how you cycle multiple pages in the same flash file?
I'm making a website and I've just finished the intro. Basically, I have a movie clip in the intro of a leaf floating down, stopping in the center and then has text fade in over it. I'm trying to turn this clip into a button that will take you to the main page
Ive been trying to get this straight for days. I simply want the buttons in the attached file to be replaced by movie clips doing exactly the same job. When I write the code it doesnt work. How is the code supposed to look?
I've made a mute button for my embedded FLV sound. I'm usingSoundMixer.stopAll(); as the controlling action. How do I start thesound up again? From what I could tell, there wasn't aSoundMixer.playAll();, which would be the logical choice. The sound is embedded into the FLV, so I don't have direct
I have a button, in default, and rolled over state, it has Movie Clips. however, when entering the scene, the Movie Clip in default state of a button is playing. what I want to do, is to somehow stop the movieclip, and have it played ONLY when mouse rolls out of button. So put in simply, Movieclip is frozen in button, point on a button, leave button, movieclip plays. Is it possible? P.S. This is what I have right now [URL]
I've used the XML connector to use an xml file to populate amenu>submenu> thumbnail image flash application. Everythingworks except that I'd like the last step to be that the user clickson the dynamically generated thumbnail image to open acorresponding pdf. I'm using the Loader component to generate thethumbnail. Essentially, I want to turn that image into a buttonthat launches a pdf.
I have a flipping book component. It come with the basic page turning function where the user can turn each page manually. Because there are many chapters,I created buttons under the pages so that the user can navigate directly to specific pages. I can not find and create the codeto attach to each button to make the pages flip directly to the indicated page? The component uses AS2,Here is main code that appears at frame 1.
I am building a website, but am fairly new at it on flash... Am I able to add HTML code to the file? I am trying to add a code which creates a map from mapquest...?[code]
I am trying to create a flash text field which is html formatted using the code to link to a text file already containing html formatted text. Both these files have been saved in the same folder on my hard drive.Having created a text field on my stage (on one layer) with an instance name of myText_txt I have entered this into the actionscript (on the layer above):[code]I have tryed moving both files to the desktop but this hasnt worked.

Following embed code is from [URL] but it doesn't work in Internet Explorer 8. Firefox no problems. Any recommendations for improvements?

UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.
I am creating a website for a client and am using google checkout for their selling of their products.... The button thos, is a HTML code, SO, how do I create this button? Can I add HTML code to my flash movie? Can I add it somewhere to add the "Checkout" and "buy now" buttons?
Is there a simple way to change a string hexadecimal color value... eg.Code:var fillColor: String = "#ff0000";I want to be able to change it to the flash equivalent (which can still be a string, not necessarily a uint)Code:var fillColor: String = "0xff0000";I tried fillColor.replace(); but I'm not quite sure how to do it.
manipulate my flash code through HTML. My application should have two variants - with panel and without panel.I want to tell Flash to make my panel visible only if there is "yes" parameter in the HTML code. I am doing it with FlashVars. I know there is way to make it so: [code]When I start the application on a browser Flash makes no difference between "yes" and "no" parameter so I am doing it wrong. That's my first time passing variables from html to flash and it's a bit hard to understand.
If i (rarely) put Flash onto a website i develop i would always use this
[Code]..
Yet the code that Flash gives you is a horrible messy bit of code. Why is 5 lines of code = to Flash's default HTML embedding code. Am i right in thinking theres no disadvantage to use the jQuery version?
