Html :: Html - Video Embed Code Doesn't Work In Internet Explorer 8
May 12, 2010
Following embed code is from [URL] but it doesn't work in Internet Explorer 8. Firefox no problems. Any recommendations for improvements?
[Code]....
UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.
It does display on IE 8 however it does not maintain the width and height dimensions I have set. I have also made sure that my flash is 960 x 360. How can I get it to show my desired size in a way which will still be compatible with other browsers?
I DLd one of those free Flash templates. [URL].. It opens great in my Flash CS4 and plays the swf perfectly. However when I Publish the .html, it opens in IE but stays on the first frame of the preload. loading 0%" A pop occurs to tell me I have to allow Active X which I do but the html never plays foward or completes the preload. Here is a screen shot of the AS on frame 1.[URL]...
how to tell what is causing Internet Explorer to give a security warning for some flash videos on my site? I've looked through the HTML and can't find anything, so it appears to be somewhere in the Flash itself.
The site I'm working on uses the age-old CSS "suckerfish" menus to do drop downs rather than Javascript or some other CSS solution. On some of these pages there are flash pieces, and for Internet Explorer 8 only, the menus get "blocked" by the flash area. After seeing questions related to this issue, i.e. here and here, I tried both wmode="opaque" and wmode="transparent", which solved the problem for Chrome, Opera, and Safari. Firefox worked without any wmode specification. However, IE 8 isn't working with either of these ... the css menus don't overlay the flash. These flash elements don't have a position assigned to them, so assigning a z-index won't help as far as my understanding goes. How do I make this work for IE 8?URL...
I have a html paga which loads a flash(flex) swf file. Using https it loads successfully with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, but not with Internet Explorer.Another page, a simple aspx page, does load in Internet Explorer using https (and no flash in it).Haven't found anything so far on the internet to solve this... Anyone?UPDATE: When I right click on the white screen, 'About Adobe Flash Player 10...' appears... so Flash is loaded. Also, in Charles (http sniffer tool) I can see that the swf is loaded over the network.
So, apparently, Flash Player is running inside my html page, the swf is loaded over the internet but the swf is not displayed in internet explorer browser... Very strange. How can I debug this further to see what the problem is?Meanwhile, in the left down corner, IE keeps on saying: 'Waiting for https://....In all other browsers it works like a charm. You can see that IE shows a Certificate Error, but that's also the case in other browsers. I already clicked on Certificate Error to install the Certificate, but with no success.
I have a video that does play when I preview it in Flash, but does NOT play when I preview it in .html. I've gone over the publish settings, and I think they are correct. This was working fine awhile back, but isn't working now.
I have a flash-based ad that displays/hides based on some javascript. It works in Firefox, Safari, Chrome ... but not in Internet Explorer 8. This is for donations to a non-profit during the holiday season,
I would want to catch click with javascript on a embed flash object on my page. I used wmode="opaque" (tried transparent too) and put a low z-index. I tried catching click on a div, on the object element and on the embed element. On FF (5), all three of them work. On IE (7 & 8), none of them work. Here's my code (I removed some attribute for flash like type or classid) :
Recently struggling with weird IE9 + Flash problem I came over multiple advices to use classid and codebase attributes specifically for IE. But couldn't find any explanation of why they might be required or what they simply do. Any good writeup on this topic anywhere? Side-question: Can I just make classid value up out of my head or it should be generated according to some rules?
I have a preloader with the following code stop(); this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PRO GRESS, onProgress); this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete); function onProgress(erogressEvent):void { var loaded:Number = e.target.bytesLoaded; [Code] ..... It works great with Firefox and Safari on a mac but when viewing in internet explorer on a pc, the loader does not work at all.
Internet Explorer will not display flash video in stand alone video players, similar to the one at: [URL] The other embedded flash content is viewable. In the IE8 tools, manage add on's, Adobe Flash Player is not listed.I've also noticed that when I access the Adobe Flash Settings manager, I can not uncheck "hardware acceleration".Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 is the operating system.
I'm using swfobject (2.2) to load blip.tv videos. Everything was working fine with their old player, but now that they have switched to the stratos player, it fails to load properly in IE. It shows a grey video window, with the play button half showing on the left side, and the button won't work.
Here is my js code:
function loadBlip(videoFile,width,height,cssID) { var blipSWF = "http://blip.tv/scripts/flash/stratos.swf"; var expressSWF = "/lib/js/swfobject/expressInstall.swf"; var attributes = {
[Code]......
The file that I pass to the loadBlip function looks like: [URL]
Again, this works fine in FF/Chrome/Safari, but fails in IE.
i have to embed my flash file in my html using satay code since my html has to be xhtml compliant. my problem is when i try to embed 2 different movies on the same page, the first movie loads in both containers. does anyone know how to fix this or if there is another xhtml compliant way to embedding flash?
I have been searching Google trying to find a solution to my problem with no joy, so I thought I would post in here to try my luck.I have created a small movie which can be found here, [URL], the problem I have lays with the button at the top of the movie titled "Click Here to Create Your Canvas". I have 'Publish Previewed' in Flash and the button works fine - changing on mouseover and opening link, however when viewed in HTML the button changes as intended but the link does not open on release.
I have a flash file (main.fla) that contains an empty movie clip which has the action :loadMovie("myMovie.swf");When I test the movie in Flash it works fine.It also works fine when I have Flash closed & just open the (main.swf) file. And, of course, the loaded movie (myMovie.swf) plays fine too.HOWEVER, when I embed the main movie file (main.swf) into an HTML page, it will NOT load "myMovie.swf" like it's supposed to.Note: when I embed "myMovie.swf" into the HTML page, it works fine.
I've been spending hours now reading up on IE7's issue with rendering Flash content on top of other elements, particularly navigation menus (this is often a problem with dropdown menus and Flash ad banners, for example).
Update
At Mercator's request, I am providing a large code-sample to assist in any advice you might have. Consider the HTML below:
[code]...
The footpanel uses jQuery-powered flyout menus, if that provides any further context. These menus have z-indexes in the 300X range to appear above the footpanel. The Flash in question is JW player playing a flash video or mp4. Currently, the object and embed tags are inside a container div.My understanding of previous solutions was that the combination of the param changes and the positioning/z-index change on the container div should have resolved the issue. Alas, it is not so. The player resides on top of the footpanel.Other information that may or may not be helpful is that the page is XHTML 1.0 Transitional and that Dreamweaver reports 1 error in the HTML code: <embed> is not in the XHTML 1.0 specification. This fact does not prevent the video from being viewed in any browser tested, and the page still displays correctly in FF.
I embed a video in html page with swf file. that is running on local host but when i run this on live server. than it dosent work properly.I link flv video in swf file and embed it in html.
<script type="text/javascript"> AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','width','600','height','338','title','testing','src','Edit_video/9vi/home-page2','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movie','Edit_video/9vi/home-page2' ); //end AC code
I am trying to use HTML to embed a flash video, however I encounter the following errors:
Error #2044: Unhandled skinError:. text=[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text=" Error #2035: URL Not Found. URL: SkinOverPlaySeekStop.swf"] Here is my HTML code:
[Code]...
Whenever I open the page I'll get a popup window with the above errors and once I click "continue" it will go ahead and play the video, but without the control skin. how to get the skin to show up?
