ActionScript 3.0 :: Upload Local Video File To Server

May 10, 2010

I'm building an art installation which records video files and the idea is to upload each video to a server. The files typically come at at somewhere between 5 and 15mb and are in AVI (mpeg4) format.I'm using a Max/MSP patch (program) to do the recording and encoding, and controlling it remotely from Flash.Once Max has recorded the video file it passes the path to the finished file back to Flash.Flash is interacting with a web server via SWX/PHP for a number of other reasons to do with the project. I'd hoped to upload the video files using the following method:Load the video file into Flash as a ByteArray via URLLoader.Serialise the ByteArray as a String using Base64 encoding and pass that to a SWX/PHP method on the server which would in turn save it to a file.The problem is that serialising a large file such as an AVI is causing the Flash player to crash, so I'm going to have to look at a different method of doing the upload.Get a video file from the local machine onto a web server simple as that.

Flash :: Execute An External .exe From A Local .swf Using A Local XML Socket Server (C#)

Jan 7, 2012

I'm developing a game add-on/plugin which replaces a built in feature of an online game. The game loads an .swf therefore, my solution also has to be an swf for it to work 'in-game'.

I would like to be able to have the user press a button in the custom .swf I am making - and this would open an external application (amongst other things). I.e. if there was a button that said Notepad, it would open Notepad.exe on the machine.

My initial thinking was that i could have a XML Socket server 'daemon' runnning (c#) , which i could connect to with flash - however, as both the swf and the daemon are local, flash complained and gave this error: "Error #2010: Local-with-filesystem SWF files are not permitted to use sockets."

The only way i know to fix this - is to change the security settings of flash - not very user friendly!

So! Any thoughts on how I could otherwise go about this? I was thinking a custom http server could do the trick (connected with URLRequest) although i'm not too sure.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Using A PHP Upload To Upload Files To Server?

Nov 8, 2011

I am using a PHP upload to upload files to server. I have a loop for the 5 files to upload....

ActionScript Code:
if (PDFFiles[i] != false){
PDFFiles[i].upload(uploadPHP);
}

As the loop runs quicker than PHP can upload, the success of....

ActionScript Code:
function fileUploaded(e:DataEvent):void {
trace "Success"}

....can get out of synch. It doesn't cause me any real problems but is this bad form? Or am I better to upload one file the wait for the PHP to return success before uploading the next one?

Actionscript 2.0 :: BitmapData And Local Vs Remote Images

Feb 27, 2012

I am creating an interactive post-it for an upcoming event that allows for us to tap into a sql database and post tweets, survey answers and images. We've already tapped into the Twitter API and the survey, so those are A-OK.The problem lies within loading the images from a location other than the local interactive board's server.If the image itself is locally hosted, it loads just fine.If the image is hosted elsewhere, the image will not load, even though I have a trace on the URL of said image.I'm loading all tweets, surveys and images through an XML load and all the data is loading properly.I AM loading the image through a smoothing filter so that when the "post-its" are slightly rotated, they are not jagged. Here is THAT code:[code]

This is a two part script where the bulk loads in the image and places it into an empty movieclip, then adds the smoothing filter. The second part is a resizer that automatically resizes the image and keeps the aspect ratio.When I test the flash piece (not embedded in HTML) the thing works 100%.As soon as I put the swf into an html and view it on a web page, the remote images will not load.I'm a bit stumped on why this is, could this be a firewall or security issue? Because I work in a high security firewall environment.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Upload Image And Saving It To The Local Map?

Mar 2, 2011

how do you upload the image for temporary savings and then save it down to the local map?

My Situation: Making an flash website for my father in law and we got a server/domain which has got no database... Which make it impossible to basicly just save it to a database.

so I will make a admin place where he can go on and save the image to a map specified. and then it will upload the images by it self...

So how do I move the image from the local computer to the server where the website is. He wount have access to the server so he can't manually go in and put the images into the folder he needs an admin way of the website to save the images into the folder by remote access.

When I run it on my computer, the webcamera works correctly (i.e. I see my image flipped) however, when I upload it along with the .html and .swfobject file, I see my flash file (with graphics) but my webcamera video isn't showing up? I also am not seeing the "adobe flash player settings" prompt to enable my webcamera (I always see this prompt when testing it on my computer, however it's not showing up now that I uploaded the file) I can tell my camera is on because the light on my iSight is showing up, what gives?

Professional :: BitmapData / GetPixel Mystery - Works Perfectly On Local, Failing When Uploaded?

Dec 13, 2010

I'm working with a video in Flash where I am capturing each frame and testing the color of a single pixel. I'm using it to determine when a white/transparent background changes to be a color. The following AS2 code works flawlessly when I preview it in Flash and on my desktop in the browser (the direct SWF and placed inside HTML using SWFObject) but as soon as I upload it to my server it fails and produces "FFFFFF" continuously regardless.

this.onEnterFrame = function()[code]..........

There is no difference in the files; they are both pulling from the same video source (hosted on an Flash FLV server).The only difference is one set of files is hosted on my local computer and the other is hosted on my web server.

Media Server :: Upload My Pre Recorded Flash Clips To The Server?

Mar 11, 2010

I now have a Windows PC and I purchase Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5 software and install.I but server space on a managed server arrangement.I upload my pre recorded Flash clips to the server and my website and playlist to my host. Basically the website is channelled via http and the clips via RTMP. The key question that no one inside Adobe seems to be able to grasp (or answer) is ~ will it work if I stream my own clips?! or is it inferior to say that of a professional streaming company.The streaming companies charge anything from $125 to $250 a month, a big cost for someone like me, streaming around 1000mb a month. So does anyone out there have direct knowledge of this software and can you stream via rented server space without using a streaming company?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Saving BitmapData To Server As JPG

Jun 29, 2010

I'm trying to write a contest where the user can paint an outlined image I provide, and then submit it. I want it to then save the image on my server with properties so I can tell who submitted it. They will be asked to input these values of course. I looked into the JPGEncoder but could only find examples for downloading the image directly. Is there an easier way to do a contest like this? I'd rather not have them have to save the image locally and then e-mail it, as this is geared towards kids and I don't want it to be confusing.

Movie Will Not Upload To Server?

Oct 24, 2008

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3. I'm new to Flash and It seems that every time I take 3 steps forward I have to take one back. I've inserted the .swf into the html page, where it resides inside a cell within a table. It plays there, and in Preview In Browser.I've uploaded the .html page to the server but the movie (and all the code relating to it) will not go along with the rest of the page contents. There is no trace of any movie coding anywhere on that .html page on the server.I have three other Flash movies on this site, all on different .html pages. All the elements of all the Flash movies are in their own folders, all of which reside in one single Flash folder. The other three movies play successfully on the server.

And on my computer, in Dreamweaver Code View, the correct path to the .swf file is present.But, only for that one movie, none of the Flash movie code will upload to the server. I'd like to supply a web address, but this forum does not allow the inclusion of URLs. To bad, it would certainly clarify the problem.

Php :: Saving Bitmapdata To Server And Getting Filename Back?

All is well, so far and I am able to save the image on the server. Where I am stuck is that the PHP function generates the image file name randomly and I have no clue on how to get the name of the file I have just saved on the server.
