I have a PHP image object created using imagecreatetruecolor(). I'd like to send this via AMFPHP to Flash. I understand the best format is using a ByteArray. How can I achieve this without writing the image to the disk?
I've created a card (that extends movieclip) in flash and after that I've created an array and pushed some cards inside of it. The name of the mcs is already set, but now, I want to add them to the stage and set their x and y position.

I'm using an onLoad function (importing variables from a text file) and I'm creating arrays within a for loop in the onLoad function. I'm using something like this:

How can I access that Array from a function? Please note the function, the onLoad function and the arrays are all being created on the same timeline.I've tried tracing the array dvdAry0 from the function after the array is created in the onLoad function, but it comes up as undefined. Is the array created on the object that I'm using onLoad on?I'm using a loadVars Object called loadDVDsText.

I am developing an application with Flex for the GUI and Restlet for the webservices. I have a strange problem. I put my XML as a property on a generic object, and send it as part of a POST request. But in the Restlet webservice, this XML is irretrievable. How do I retrieve it? I tried initialising the received Representation object to a DomRepresentation, but thats not working. If I put the received Representation object into a Form object, then getFirstValue is returning that XML as a string! I noticed that the contentType of the HTTPService was application/www-form-encoded so I set it to application/xml and its not helping either. I use restlet 2.0m6 and here is the code snippet that I use -
how I can access array data inside of an mc from the main timeline.. I am hoping to get into an array called children, which is inside of an mc, which itself is inside of an array called mcs.

So I have two movie clips linked with classes- one with the class "theList" and one with the class "challengeBar". I need to use a function in challengeBar to access a function in the theList. They are both immediate children of the stage.so for now I have this (in the challengeBar class)-

should it be something along the lines of root.myList.dequeue? or stage.myList.dequeue? How can I access that function?

I was not able to figure out an implementation of the callback function for the filter() method, where the callback was outside of the getGallery() function. I wonder if there is a way to get the isGallery function outside of the getGallery scope?
I have been trying for an hour to clone an array, It seems that nobody has a true reference on how to do it. Two arrays - movieClipArray 1 and movieClipArray2 I want to duplicate movieClipArray1 entirely so that when I addChild(movieClipArray2[0]), it doesn't take away from movieClipArray1 or reference it in any way.
I am trying to use the following code to convert an object read in from a ByteArray to an Array and store it:

In debugging, I find that 'data' is indeed populated with the correct data and takes up memory and is in an Array friendly format. However, invObjects is NULL. How does merely saying 'data as Array' make the holding variable suddenly null?

What I should do is parse an xml and from its node name create object property and then create an object array based on those property. Am I able to make myself clear.
I'm basically loading an XML file to assign instances of a movie clip a distinct value, which it uses to modify its height. So, I'm looping through the xml and instantiating my class Object each time (Rect) and then placing that Object into an array:

"listPosition" in this bit is an Rect parameter, defined in the previous bit of code as "i", so I can keep track of the order of the stack.I've found one or two examples of putting objects into an array and getting them back out, but it doesn't seem to work with this, maybe because I'm using a class. I don't know.Could this be an area where I need to use the array access brackets, like around the movie clip the object is loaded into. I've tried everything I can think of -- referencing back to the movieclip, adding extra objectRef type parameters... nothing has worked yet.

I have a function that checks if 2 objects are touching OB1 and OB2, if they do touch it runs the rest of the collision code where OB1 is the character and OB2 is a tile that the player cannot pass through.
I came across an issue where i wanted sprites to be separate from the hitboxes but my collision code works by checking the height and width of an object (you guys know the drill).
So i have a Tile class with 2 parts to it, a bitmap and a movieClip.
So i have this setup(pseudocode):

This should work right? But it ONLY works for the first object in the loop!
When using flash remoting with amfphp, what can I write in php that will trigger the 'status' method that I set up in my Responder in Flash? Or more generally, how can I determine if the service call has failed? The ideal solution for me would be to throw some exception in php serverside, and catch that exception in flash clientside... How do other people handle server errors with flash remoting?
i want to use amfphp to get a very long text so i want to be able to show the progress of the download with a preloader but i dont know how to do this, also i dont know if it is posible to send or get an image or swf using amfphp.
