Videodisplay Control - Black Screen?
Jun 18, 2009Cut and pasted example with buttons for videodisplay control in chp 9 of Adobe Flex 3 developer guide. Having problems.
History - take avi, create flv. In my mxml, file define mx:videodisplay, refs flv file and define buttons for play and pause, all within mx:application.
Compile mxml with mxmlc to create swf. Call swf file within html using <object> and <embed>. Run html.Result is that the buutons show but the video control is black - no video.i have written mxml file as an air file (so use mx:windowedApplication) and compile with amxmlc and the resultant app runs as expected.I can also convert the flv into an swf file and run that from html but then I do not get buttons.

Jan 8, 2010I have a swf that loads in video, the video plays, finishes, then is followed by timeline animation. When the swf is playing in Full Screen mode, the video plays fine, but when the video is over and it's time to play the animation, the screen goes black. When I press escape, turn off Full Screen, the animation starts.

The Problem is that if you click the fullscreen button very quickly after opening the page, it goes fullscreen but the display stays black!As you can see, i add the current Image to the mcSlideHolder just when the onFirstSlideLoaded-event occurs ... so if you click the fullscreen button before it has finished loading the image it will/should add it after the image is loaded ... so the image MUST be loaded then ... but why does the screen stay black???

Jun 7, 2011I am currently having a problem when launching the trial version of flash cs5.5 . The screen that says the timeleft at my trial comes up but the flash cs5.5 screen stays black and is "not responding". About two weeks ago, it worked, so i don't know what is happening. All my other programs work. May 21, 2010The client complains that sometimes on initial load, the jwplayer will autostart playback as intended but with a black screen. Sound is alright, and the progress indicator in the transport is moving.No matter what I do, I can't recreate the error on my machine.I'm using version 5 of JWPlayer.

Sep 18, 2010I have tried getting my videos to play and all I get is a black screen with audio only.
After I got a blank screen, I uploaded the .flv (2MB) and the .fla (14MB) files to the server as well (same folder as the .html file) but that didnt help same blank screen.

Ubuntu 9.04 64Bi T : Get A Black Screen And Shortly It Also Displays The Initialize Bar?
Jul 18, 2009I tried the plugin that comes with Ubuntu 9.04 64Bit (from what I see that is using nswrapper and the 32Bit plugin) and also the current 64Bit Pre-Release alpha AND videos there just won't play.I only get a black screen and shortly it also displays the initialize bar. However, it won't play. It doesn't even show the control elements.This is for FireFox and for Epiphany.However, when I now click on the embed button to get a direct link for embeding the video on another site and using that URL the video will play but I believe it is a different player and a worse video quality.

Oct 21, 2010I'm using a playback control that is giving me problems. The only thing that I'm using is a play/pause buttons and the time scrubber. I found this code on a website. Now, when I preview the swf, it plays fine, but when the video starts playing, the screen turns black and flash quits automatically.

The movie played correctly before being placed and made into pdf. I have a stop in the first frame of the movie. So when you open the movie there is a black screen (first two frames only) with two buttons, a start and a stop. click the start the movie plays. when made into pdf and opened the movie plays automaticly no black screen and the buttons do not work.

It looks fine in normal mode - everything is scaled perfectly - but when it enlarges there's a black bar above the video and the bottom 1/3 falls off the screen.

Apr 13, 2010I am developing for a project which I inherited, coded in Actionscript 2 but deployed for Flash 9 (I personally use CS4). Since this is AS2, there is no fullScreen option in the FLVPlayback component. The system I am working with uses multiple layers and movieclips in order to display an interface. Sometimes a video will be displayed as well; the video is published in a standalone SWF, using the FLVPlayback component which loads the FLV file.I created a button/movieclip combination which I would like to use to resize the FLVPlayback component to "full screen". What I do is this:
- read the browser window's available height and width using javascript
- on the onRelease event for the button, resize the FLVPlayback to the maximum available size and place it at 0, 0.
- on the other onRelease event for the button, resize the FLVPlayback back to its original dimension and place it back to its original coordinates.
My problem is twofold: the FLVPlayback skin disappears when I resize the FLVPlayback and it seems that the FLVPlayback is taking more space because I cannot see some of the content of the FLV itself.Does anyone have any experience with manually resizing FLVPlayback components?

Sep 22, 2009I'm currently working on a project using FLVPlayback Components. I'm having this issue: The user launches the page, the Component loads fine. They play the video and click the "FullScreen" button. The video launches nicely in fullscreen by using this code

When the user hits esc. or exits fullscreen, they come back to the movie and see that it has shrunk and moved over a few pixels. It doesnt move the entire SWF, just the component. I assume it has something to do with the "else" line. Let me know if you can be of some assistance. Linked please find my FLA and a link to the page where the issue occurs.
Professional :: FLVplayback Fullscreen Not Working When Stage Is In Full Screen Mode
Jun 8, 2011I have an SWF file with a full-screen button working perfectly. I have added an FLVPlayback component, working correctly.
However, if the whole stage is in "Full Screen" mode, and I click on the button which loads the FLVPlayback component, the screen becomes black and the FLV doesn't even load.
I have tried addind the action movieHolder.fullScreenTakeOver = false; but it did not help.

Apr 27, 2010I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:

Why Is Swf's Background Black
May 24, 2010i embedded a swf into a page recently. I got it outsourced as i dont know my flash but the guy sent it to me like this.[code]however, the logo was then black in the background. which was really annoying, cause i'd asked for a transparent background and now i had a black one which didnt match the gradient of the header of the page.so i went back to the logo designer and i asked, he didnt know how to make the background transparent with this new code i've used. So, i asked him to make a new one with the gradient in the background. he did, and there are still black bits to the side of the logo..so i thought best to come to a knowledgeable place and ask - how do i set the background for this embedded swf as transparent?URL...
