I have created a loader for the begining of my project, however when i simulate download there is just black (background colour) for about 10 seconds and then the loader suddenly starts at around 70%.So i know the loader works but why the black screen?? is it loading the loader?

What should I do to fix this? This is not going to be an HTML file, however, so the initial thought of changing the publish settings does not seem to work this time.
I have the following code which simply loads an external swf, puts it in the right place and should all be hunky dory.This works:

to set the dimensions of the loader so the external swf doesn't 'spill over', the result is a blank screen. No matter how high I set those dimensions it just doesn't display anything.
Cut and pasted example with buttons for videodisplay control in chp 9 of Adobe Flex 3 developer guide. Having problems.
History - take avi, create flv. In my mxml, file define mx:videodisplay, refs flv file and define buttons for play and pause, all within mx:application.
Compile mxml with mxmlc to create swf. Call swf file within html using <object> and <embed>. Run html.Result is that the buutons show but the video control is black - no video.i have written mxml file as an air file (so use mx:windowedApplication) and compile with amxmlc and the resultant app runs as expected.I can also convert the flv into an swf file and run that from html but then I do not get buttons.
I have a swf that loads in video, the video plays, finishes, then is followed by timeline animation. When the swf is playing in Full Screen mode, the video plays fine, but when the video is over and it's time to play the animation, the screen goes black. When I press escape, turn off Full Screen, the animation starts.

The Problem is that if you click the fullscreen button very quickly after opening the page, it goes fullscreen but the display stays black!As you can see, i add the current Image to the mcSlideHolder just when the onFirstSlideLoaded-event occurs ... so if you click the fullscreen button before it has finished loading the image it will/should add it after the image is loaded ... so the image MUST be loaded then ... but why does the screen stay black???

I am currently having a problem when launching the trial version of flash cs5.5 . The screen that says the timeleft at my trial comes up but the flash cs5.5 screen stays black and is "not responding". About two weeks ago, it worked, so i don't know what is happening. All my other programs work. I tried to reinstall it, to delete the left flash cs5.5 program files after the uninstall and many other things, but it dosen't work.Here is a screen capture of the flash cs5.5 blackscreen. notice that in the frame of the window it tells" not responding".

Sound is alright, and the progress indicator in the transport is moving.No matter what I do, I can't recreate the error on my machine.I'm using version 5 of JWPlayer.

I have tried getting my videos to play and all I get is a black screen with audio only.
After I got a blank screen, I uploaded the .flv (2MB) and the .fla (14MB) files to the server as well (same folder as the .html file) but that didnt help same blank screen.

I want to create a simple static image on a 392 x 72 document. When you move your mouse over the image, it changes to a black screen with a cursor following mask in the shape of binoculars which reveals an image below (not the same image as static one).There is going to be a clickable monster which takes you to the next scene and from there,the next scene.I have attached a storyboarded idea of my banner.I have the images, I am just struggling with the ActionScript code.Click on the image to see comments on right hand side.
View 1 RepliesI tried the plugin that comes with Ubuntu 9.04 64Bit (from what I see that is using nswrapper and the 32Bit plugin) and also the current 64Bit Pre-Release alpha AND videos there just won't play.I only get a black screen and shortly it also displays the initialize bar. However, it won't play. It doesn't even show the control elements.This is for FireFox and for Epiphany.However, when I now click on the embed button to get a direct link for embeding the video on another site and using that URL the video will play but I believe it is a different player and a worse video quality.

My problem now is that if I click the fullscreen button too quick (--> before the image has been loaded and hasn't therefore been added to the stage) the screen just stays black and nothing is working anymore (the following images aren't loading either. I'm using a playback control that is giving me problems. The only thing that I'm using is a play/pause buttons and the time scrubber. I found this code on a website. Now, when I preview the swf, it plays fine, but when the video starts playing, the screen turns black and flash quits automatically.
This is the Error that I'm getting:

One of my clients installed FMS 3.5 and has the following issue:
a model was video chatting w/ one or more customers in a chat room. but sometimes, one customer entered her chatroom but saw blackscreen only, couldn't see model's activity, nor the video. the model did not see that customer entering the chat room either.
how I can make a 95% black MC cover everything on the website page (full screen onResize) so I can present an externally loaded image by itself? I have seen this done before in a few flash portfolio websites but I can't seem to find the solution on any previous thread. I may have missed some threads. is there an actionscript that can do all of the above without having to resize an MC?
View 4 RepliesI have created a .swf with flash cs4 actionscript 3. I placed it into an indesign page (cs4) and then exported to make a pdf. The movie played correctly before being placed and made into pdf. I have a stop in the first frame of the movie. So when you open the movie there is a black screen (first two frames only) with two buttons, a start and a stop. click the start the movie plays. when made into pdf and opened the movie plays automaticly no black screen and the buttons do not work.

View 2 RepliesI have two swf files, each one almost with the same classes, the most important one is a Singleton class, each swf does "singleton.getInstance()". The diference is that one swf is like a container and the other one is like a module. So when the container loads the module from an absolute path like loader.load("file://c:/modules/module.swf") or loader.load("[URL]"), two different singletons (same class) are created
But when the container loads from a relative path like loader.load("module.swf") , just one singleton is created (that is what I want) I am just intrigued with this behavior, could someone explain me this? PD: I believe is something related to loaderContext and applicationDomain but It also appears that isn't working right. -Patricio Foieri , Vertigo Labs
The title describes the problem: Loader.load() is firing the INIT event, but in my listener it's reporting loader.content as null. The description for INIT event is "Dispatched by the associated LoaderInfo object when the properties and methods of the loaded SWF file are accessible."I'm loading a lot of JPG images, and 95 percent of the time it works fine; the init listener fires and reports valid loader. content.I absolutely need loader.content available because I need to set the bitmap smoothing property to true.I've tried using Event.COMPLETE and it has the exact same problematic behavior.

A simple loader loads my simple game and runs VERY FAST on even slow pcs BUT when I build this other loader, it goes quite slowly and I don't know where the app is going wrong. WHERE is the processing consumptoin coming from out of my app.

I got this very strange behavior from FlashPlayer debugger 10.1 r82. When I call loader.load method, no ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. But if I open the file and call loader.loadBytes instead, an ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. I suspect the ADDED event is dispatched because the content is being set as the child of Loader object, but why in the other case it is not dispatched?
View 4 Repliesthe file loads correctly but the loading screen only flashes up at the end.The only thing being exported in frame 1 is the loader image, and that is extremely small.Is it possible that there's a queue of things being loaded and the loader image is at the bottom of that queue? Since that was one of the last things added to the project
View 1 Repliesi have a main loader swf file called loader.swf and it loads an RSL.swf (runtime shared library for my swf files) and then 10 swf files, each one to a container (fE.: movieclip '01' in loader.swf, then movieclip '02' and so on). the 10 swf files have a lot of references to RSL.swf, and i have to use RSL.the problem is when loader.swf loads the RSL and the other 10 swfs the loader throws errors like this:

I'm loading some images with Loaders, cloning the BitmapData to a new Bitmap, and adding the Bitmap as a child of a Sprite. So far, so good. I want the Loaders I'm using to be removed by garbage collection, which they seem to be. The problem, or so it seems, is that when the Loaders are cleaned up, the Bitmaps I'm creating lose their data.
Edit: All this is happening when a class is instanced, and many copies of this class are being used as actors in a game. As the Actors are being created the older ones are losing their BitmapData to garbage cleanup. When all of them are finally loaded, only the last few are visible. I've rewritten my posted code as a class. If I prevent the Loaders from being cleaned up by somehow keeping a reference to them, the Bitmaps don't lose the data, but I don't want these Loaders hanging around.
