ActionScript 3.0 :: Catch URLVariables.Decode() Error When Particular Type Of Thing Occurs

I'm loading info from a mySQL database through Flash/AS3 --> PHP then back to Flash. I'm not really certain if we're going to know how many times to try and load from the database. I'm getting an error from URLVariables right now from the constructor (Decode ()) when Php sends me nothing. (I'm out of database info) I would like to error handle this so my program doesn't crash. I looked it up in the documentation and it says that the constructor ( Decode () ) throws "Error" when this particular type of thing occurs.

I am passing a simple string from a PHP file, that looks like this.[code]I am asking flash to prase this data and display each field in a text field, it seems as it is failing at the myTextLoader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.VARIABLES; because when i take it out or switch the dataFormat to TEXT, it does not produce that error.[code]Any Suggestion as to what needs to be changed in order for it to work, i tried to trace stuff, change the variable scope etc.

i tried to read get the variables from a asp file. the asp prints
picid=2|5|6|4|1|3|&ownerid=1|1|1|1|1|1|
loader.load(new URLRequest("http://localhost/gettoppic.asp?ordertype=random&pagenum=1"));
and in the completed function
trace (loader.data.picid)
but i keep getting

We create training material for nuses and working on a mask that will shadow everything but what is seen in a highlighting box. Basically I created a movieClip with a box border and no fill.I then move that onto the stage on the timeline when I need it to come on screen during the movie.I move the box and size it.The box is assigned a var myPos (just so it knows it's name by an array). how i would created a photo album/ slideshow type of thing. Where an arrow button is clicked to go to the next or previous 'emotion' each section will have a different emotion. I thought about gotoandStop and then the frame but how would i do this when they are only clicking one button and it will be going to around 12 different sections :S

For some odd reason I'm getting this compiler error whenever I have a MovieClip that contains text in my library. Not really sure how to go about fixing this. It works fine once the MovieClip is removed.

Im currently trying to create a type of speedometer thing which reacts via various buttons on the screen.I done a simple script for the needle to move so many degrees left or right but this simple script doesn't stop the needle from continuing to go to far left or right (min/max on dial). Is there a way of stoping the needle once it has reached say 10 degrees and 120 degrees?
My script is:
bad_btn.onPress = function (){
needle_mc._rotation +=16;
}
good_btn.onPress = function (){
needle_mc._rotation -=16;
}
bad and good buttons determine the left and right Im also interested in whether once the needle has reached it max point this would trigger of another function etc

I'm calling a function in my actionscript called GrabWidget() from the javascript. When I do this from a plain page with just the flash and the javascript link, everything works flawlessly. However, when I add this to a page, I get the error: uncaught exception: Error in Actionscript. Use a try/catch block to find error.I've even gone so far as to empty out the contents of GrabWidget() in my actionscript and I still get the error.

Seems like in AS3, I can in theory, delare arrays that can only contain certain data types:
private var my_array:Array.<String>;
produces this error:
1199: type parameters with a non-parameterized type
however
private var my_vector:Vector.<String>;
is just fine. Is there a way of making this work with an Array?

The compiler keeps yelling at my first line "package aRenberg.utils", and I don't see anything wrong with it.
what this error even means? I'll upload the code if needed, and I'm using a heavy amount of ASDoc if it makes any difference.
EDIT: I might have isolated it. If I comment out "import flash.utils.Dictionary;" the error goes away, and it moves on to other errors, however, one of the errors is "1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Dictionary."

I have an air application, in which the user types javascript in a textarea, and it is eval'd in an mx:HTML component, but even with try/catch around the eval, and around the code in the eval, and an HTMLUncaughtScriptExceptionEvent handler, it still throws an error. htmlWindow is html.htmlLoader.window.
