I'm trying to do a cross-fade effect for my gallery. To do that, I'm using two movieclips, one that holds the image currently displayed, and another one that holds the image that should be displayed next. When the coming image is loaded, the cross-fade effect should happen, the container that holds the image that was on stage should be cleared out, then the image in the other container should be displaced to the former container.
Here's my code so far:
function loadFirstImage():void {
imageLoader = new Loader();
imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, addFirstImage);
imageLoader.load(new URLRequest(myImages[0].url));
currentImage = new MovieClip();
[Code] .....
I would like to make a sort of menu where the buttons fade when the user moves the mouse over the object/button. The problem is that the fade is looping over and over again while the mouse is over the object. how I control the fade effect, so it only fades in once when the mouse is over the object and then fades out when the mouse leaves the object.
I'm trying to cross fade between two frames using action script. I can fade a frame out with the following script but I can't figure out the cross fade part.
/* Fade Out Movie Clip
Fades out the symbol instance by decreasing its alpha property within an ENTER_FRAME event until it is invisible.
Instructions:
1. To change the speed at which the symbol instance fades out, change the 0.01 value below (valid values are in the range 0.0 - 1.0). Higher values cause faster fade out.
2. The '-=' operator is a shortcut to typing 'Spread1.alpha = Spread1.alpha - 0.1'.
3. Because the animation uses an ENTER_FRAME event, it progresses only when the playhead moves to a new frame, and the speed of the animation is also affected by the frame rate of the FLA file.
Spread1.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, fl_FadeSymbolOut); Spread1.alpha = 1; function fl_FadeSymbolOut(event:Event)
The AS3 script below is a cross-fade that is time-based with no user control. How do I keep the cross fade and control it with the "before" and "after" buttons? And with the API opening in its "before" state? And for users to be able to click and/or hover between the two. The link to what I'm trying to set up is:
I am trying to edit the code from o that the effect will look more like a cross-fade. So what I am trying to do is have the next image pre-load, the previous image alpha fade from 100-0, while the new one fades from 0-100
I don't know why, but this has always been a problem for me. What is the best way to cross fade images in an array? Say I have 10 image and I want them to fade over each other and just loop through the array indefinitely (also taking the preload into consideration).
What I've done is taken a Cross Fade and tried to mix in some dynamic image loading using some script posted by Claudio elsewhere on this forum (Cheers!!).However, nothing seems to happen????take a look at the script and offer a fix??
I know some basic actionscript but this one is a bit more challenging (to me at least), as (i believe) it requires setting variables...anywho, here is the swf:

As you can see, right now when you click each button the respective background image comes up. Now what i need is for them to crossfade, not switch. And preferably at a variable speed. Here is the (simple and obvious) actionscript so far:
Each button is labeled button1, button2 etc. and each image has an instance name of simply "1", "2" etc....Can anyone help me and let me know what the actionscript would be for them to crossfade ? keeping in mind that the user might click button 1 then 4 then 2 then 5, meaning they cannot simply crossfade in order.
I am trying to do simultaneous cross fade of images in a slideshow. The script here seems to have a very elegant method for cross-fading movieclips: [URL] However, I cannot get this script to work for images Anyone have a clue as to how to make this work with images? Let's say I have done: this.createEmptyMovieClip("photo", 200) and done a loadmovie of an iamge into the the MC. Here is the actionscript that I want to alter so that it will cross fade the iamges...
I'm trying to do a simple image gallery with a previous and next button. I have it working nicely with a little crossfade, however I know that I need to remove old instances of my class after they are done being used - I just don't know how to do it. Especially because I want to wait until the top image/instance is fully faded in before deleting the one below it and what if someone clicks the next/previous button before the image is fully faded in?
Here is my main movie: [AS] function nextImage(evt:Event):void{ currentImage ++; currentImage = (currentImage < imageTotal) ? currentImage : 0; addImage(); }function prevImage(evt:Event):void{ [Code] .....
It's a bit of decoration to go behind a logo. When the dMove var is commented out I get the appropriate line of squares fading in and out at random spots along the x = 78 axis, but when introduced nothing appears at all...

I'm current trying to create a slideshow with images loaded externally, and then crossfading between one another.I've achieved how to load the images one after another, but however I'm having problems with achieving a crossfade.Do I need to have 2 seperate image loaders? Because I do not want to have the first image fade out, showing the background for even a minute of a second before the second one fades in.
how to use if/else and setInterval statements on the cross fade slideshow. I am trying to edit the code to have the xml slideshow loop back to the first image and play continuously. I am ok following existing code, not great at writing/editing my own. I thought I needed to work within the nextImage function, and add a slideshow (); function. I haven't been able to get it right. Here is the code minus the xml loading part:
Im working on a project and I dont know how to even think through the problem, as I've only worked through Flash through AS3, and the following needs to be done completely in AS too.
I have two pieces of content - some flash video, and an mp3, both loaded dynamically with loaders etc. All this I think I have fairly well in hand. What I'd like to do make the 'hick-up' as these tracks loop, disappear by cross fading the video and mp3 across it self in the loop - if that makes any sense at all. I suspect that I'll have to delve into the timeline, but perhaps strangely, never done so.
In the following code I am controlling the visibility of a MC with the following code:[code]This is working fine but the on/off transition is a bit harsh. Is there a way to add a fade in fade out effect with action script so the change from visible to not visible is not so abrupt?
over the button , its start contiunosly fade in/fade out effect until i rollout the mouse its have to stop , now i have the script but its works just when i rollover and rollout the mouse and then again i need to rollover again , i searched for this script in forum but didnt find the code for contiunosly effect.here is my script ..this script goes in my actionscript layer :
I have a as3 class that loads a number of images from a given location, they are all loaded dynamically with imageloader. However I'm trying to make a Xray screen for all of them, so when I click and drag the Xray screen around, it will reveal the images loaded under each picture, creating a sort of Xray effect.I tried using masks, however since the images are all loaded dynamically they are its own class with its own layers, I'm trying to make a mask that will work for all of them (I load 2 picture for each image, example car.jpg and carb.jpg, b.jpg being the inside image).so I have my stage ---> [MyXray Box, and my Images
I would like to fade in and out and object with the colorTransform-method. When I apply the colorTransform to my object it does fade out the thing but not fade in. At first I set the alpha of the bitmapData to 0 (for the fade in-effect). After applying the colorTransform it does nothing. No fade in. Otherwise when I set the alpha of the bitmapData to 100 and let it fade out it works.
Basically I am working on a project which I have coded using HTML, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. The issue I have is that I want a flash object/animation to show on the first page. Now despite resizing the file within the HTML it seems that within Firefox and IE it sets a default size and doesn't fit the screen.
When tested on Safari it seemed to work fine but just doesn't show as intended on Firefox and IE.
Below you can a find a link to get a better understanding of what I mean.
I have 4 pics cross fading.Each pic distributed on 4 layers. For example, image 2 starts fading in, 10 frames before image 1 fades out. How can I keep this cross fading between the last frame of my scene and its first frame ? A simple gotoandplay(1) does not give me the expected result.The cross fading effect is lost.
I'm trying to create a cursor that follows the mouse around and leaves a fading trail behind it, and know I would never put something so "1998" on my site, but I thought it would be fun to try and recreate one anyway for my own enjoyment. Okay this is the issue that I'm running into the fading ball cursor does actually work but for some odd reason after about 4 or 5 seconds it leaves a small trail behind it that does not fade all the way, it's almost as if code was resetting and starting all over by dropping the current execution of the code and starting over????
Here's my code. I'm using FLASH CS4 with all current updates IMPORTED FILES import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, moveBall); function moveBall(e:MouseEvent):void{ var ball:Ball = new Ball(); ball.x = mouseX; ball.y = mouseY; addChild(ball); var fadAway:Tween = new Tween(ball, "alpha", Strong.easeOut, 1, 0, .5, true); }
I want to have a fade effect in between different images, but I don't know how to incorporate it. Could somebody modify this code or tell me how to modify this code so that it will fade in between images?
I'm doing a movie in flash but I need to have a cool typewriter effect in actionskript to keep down the kbs.
[Code]...
then with each letter fading in seprately. then after 1 second fading out again I've been searching google actionskript.org kirupa like crazy. really couldn't find anything.
I am trying to create a fade effect. When I click on a movie clip, I want the others to gradually fade from _alpha =100 to _alpha = 25. The way I have it now it will instantly take the clip from 100 to 25. This is on the movie clip that I click
I have a set of 50 PNG image slices (cross sections) of a brain that I would like to stack together to re-create a 3D object (the whole brain) that can be rotated, zoomed inside a webpage. I will need to create the 3D object? Can I use Adobe? What will the file format be for the completed 3D object, does it need to be .3DS? And what web programming language do i need to display this 3D object once I create it? Can I use javascript to code the webpage interactivity part (zoom, rotate in 3 axes)?
I'm trying to simulate some fade in/out effects in Action Script 3 programmatically, using Timer class and controlling alpha property of the specified DisplayObject in time. In general it works and looks great. As I was expecting. But after I add some more child DisplayObjects to the parent Sprite it starts to behave weirdly. Children seem to not fade at the same rate as parent object and it visually noticeable, and ugly. There seems to be a short lag after parent already started to fade out and before children actually follow. Are there any additional measures I should take to avoid that? I do alpha manipulation only on parent object. I thought that'd be logical...
Here are the two texts Products Innovation I want the button to be "products" and when you mouse over it products fades out and innovation fades in and moves to the top right, like an animation.
I'm struggling to create an effect that I thought wouldn't be to complex to complete, however several hours latter...still can not make it work.
Using Motion tween Im attempting to make an image fade up! Meaning the image slowly fades up from the bottom of the image until the whole image can be seen.
I've tried using the fade effect and adding a masked layer that's tweened, however it fades in very harshly indeed, with the line of the mask very obvious.
Is there any way that I can do this so that it looks smoother and the line is less distinctive.
