I used FileReference to save a wav file, so a window saving popup window will appear. Is there a script in actionscript 3 that can detect if the user accidentally pressed the cancel button of the popup window? because if the user pressed cancel the name of the file after he save another time will not changed? How do I do that?

This 'popup' needs to stay up even when the user interacts with the background.I would use modal, but I need the ability to interact with the back. View 1 RepliesI want to make some buttons invisible until the print job is done.So I have simply set the alpha to 0 when the print button is clicked.At the end of the printjob I want the exit button to be visible again.I have a 2 second timer that sets the alpha back to 100.It works fine when someone actually prints, but if someone hits the print button and then cancels without printing, the timer never fires.I was looking for a way to catch the canceled print.[code]
View 2 RepliesI added a Flash animation to a web page, and instead of showing it, I get this Canceled opening the page error (that, or it just shows this big blank space) in all of the browsers I've tried (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera). Adobe says Flash won't play in a 64-bit browser. I made sure I'm using Safari's 32-bit mode; it still won't play. I empty the cache, reset Safari, still nothing. I admit to not having loads of Flash experience, but this strikes me as odd.g

View 6 RepliesI have made a movie that loads many sub movies into itself and I want an information box to appear when the mouse pointer rolls over each movie. Some of the movies just play and loop so to get the box to pop up I just load the movie then attach an invisible button over it in the same size and position, which works fine. The problem is that some of the movies are interactive and have internal buttons that respond to the mouse rolling over them, so if I put a external button over them their interactivity is blocked. I also want to avoid putting custom code that targets the parent movie into the loaded movies so I don't have to adjust every movie I want to load. Is there a way to keep the interactivity of the loaded movie but still detect a mouse rollOver?
The scale and position of the loaded movies changes continually, but the only way I can think of of achiving what I want is to write code that continally calculates the size and position of the loaded movies and compares the position of the mouse pointer with them and brings up the info box if a hit is detected. This would be fairly complex
I have done this in AS2 but am having some trouble with my code for AS3. I would like to add a replay button to my video player when the video has ended. Some of my code looks like this:[code]The part I'm having trouble is from "ns.addEventListener." down. I think this is right, although I don't know what to put in my "if" statement.

View 0 RepliesI have a popup that displays over another button. Most part of the popup is covering that (big) button. When I hover the mouse over the popup. the button still acts. I've changed the popup to a button as well, but the result is still that the mouse becomes a hand, which I don't want. Is there a better way to solve this? If not, how can I disable the hand?

First time poster and a beginner with flash. I don't know if this is where I should post my questions. I have been trying unsuccessfully for nearly a week now to make a text pop-up. Not sure if that is the correct name of it, but it is one of those "pop-up" text boxes that is draggable, scrollable and close-able that I have seen from other flash sites that are usually attached to a "read more" button. I do have a flash template with a pop up text box but all the "read more" buttons pop up the same text box. I wanted to know how to get a different one to pop up for each button or how to construct one from scratch.

i'm building an projector application in AS3, as a slide show.When the right and left keys are pressed on the keyboard, the slides change.the code to change the slide:

Some slides have button on it, that change the slide, jumping to a chapter the user whant to see.the problem i'm having is that when the button at a slide is clicked, the key press detection does not work anymore. To make it work, I have to click somewhere on the stage.
I have a parent sprite that contains several child sprites. I have attached mouse click and mouse down event amongst others to the parent sprite. And in the listeners I check which child has been targeted using the "event.target" property. However It seems that the mouse click event does not trigger for some reason. Is it possible that the mouse down event is eating up the click event. Is this a know issue in as3 and is there a possible workaround?
View 3 RepliesHave been having difficulty with this issue of getting a close button to work within a mc popup box (it is doing my head in !) Basically I have a Button on the stage that launches a popup mc. To close this popup, I have a 'x' for the user to click on to close this box. I don't want the box to become 'invisible' or for the whole box to close when clicked on (I have tried both but not what i am after). It is important for user to be able to relaunch this box by clicking on the button after closing previously.
It would be great if anyone would be able to view the fla atatched and explain what needs to be included, and perhaps upload a working verison.
I wanna make like a popup effect with a close btn, the matter is that I don't know how to fix it. So any time that I click on any btn will only show a popup, then if I click in another btn the previos popup disappear and shows the new one, by now I can't figure out how fix it.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to get a movie clip to pop up when I press a button, when the clip pops up it displays certain information taken from an xml document. I want to be able to display the info held in the first part of the xml to display when I press the 1st button, the info in the 2nd part of the xml to display when i press the 2nd button and so on. However it always seems to loop to the last item in the xml list. I have also posted my actionscript code below:

i'm using the centered pop up window script from: [URL]. i have multiple buttons in my flash movie which open screenshot html pages in external browser windows. the script works fine except when a popup window stays open. the rest of the buttons don't open/replace past that one popup. i tried changing the window name in the onRelease script to screen1, screen2, etc for each button, but that didn't work.

I have to do the out of focus check and then do some validation before close the popup. So what I was thinking that is there any inbuilt focus check event or do we need to create custom event for that?

Is a button hosted in domain that links to a secure page in link. Will it work or will it get blocked by browsers or internal flash restrictions?
