Actionscript 3 :: Detecting If You Clicked On An Object Without Pressing The Mouse Button?
Apr 29, 2011
Okay, in as3 when you click, the object on the highest layer will be clicked on. I want someone to press the space bar and have the objects on the screen to check to see if it is touching a point.So I first tried hittest...
if (this.hitTest(myPoint)){
play();
}
Now the problem was objects behind other ones were thinking they were being "clicked" on.
i'm building an projector application in AS3, as a slide show.When the right and left keys are pressed on the keyboard, the slides change.the code to change the slide:
Code: function setup() { stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, displayKey); } setup();
[code]....
Some slides have button on it, that change the slide, jumping to a chapter the user whant to see.the problem i'm having is that when the button at a slide is clicked, the key press detection does not work anymore. To make it work, I have to click somewhere on the stage.
I have a flash shooter game and after a user shoots a bottle, i play the destroy animation and remove it from the screen. The problem is when the user click too fast, like superman fast it enters on the method twice, no matter what.
Here is the code:
public function bottleHasClicked(bottle : BottleBase) : void { bottle.mouseEnabled = false; collectedBottles++;
[Code]....
The first thing i do is to disable the object mouse, and it still happens. I only enable it when im gonna show the bottles again.
I am creating a fish-eat-fish movie. I created a fish (pike1) that follows the mouse. Another fish (Chub) is set to disappear when clicked. What I want to do is to have pike1 grow larger (either by just growing larger or having pike1 disappear and be replaced on mouse click by a larger pike (pike2).
I am creating a fish-eat-fish movie and I need some help. I created a fish (pike1) that follows the mouse. Another fish (Chub) is set to disappear when clicked.What I want to do (and need help with) is to have pike1 grow larger (either by just growing larger or having pike1 disappear and be replaced on mouse click by a larger pike (pike2) when the user clicks on Chub
I have a MovieClip. It represents animation of jumping monster. For clearness, let's pretend there are only 2 frames: the first one occupies top left rectangle (x = 0, y = 0, w = 70, h = 70) and the second one occupies (x = 100, y = 0, w = 70, h = 70). So monster jumps from left to the right. And position of MovieClip itself is constantly = (0, 0). I'd like to fire some event when monster is clicked by mouse.
For some reason, I have stage mouse listener, not monster mouse listener. I wrote this code: stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick); private final function onClick(e:MouseEvent):void { const clickPos:Point = new Point(e.stageX, e.stageY); // having monster:MovieClip, how do I check hitting it? [Code] .....
The page transition work fine after Respected tacos " changed the code but while transition between the pages if I quickly move the mouse and clicked the other button the pages do not load as expected.I tested several times and with lower frame rates this problem can be watched.
have one mc called mc1, and when the mouse cursor is over it, mc2 is sent to a certain frame and the _alpha set to 0. The problem I have is that when the user continued with the onPress (pressing the left mouse button) after the cursor goes outside of that mc1, mc2 does not become invisible and what I need is to do that, when the user goes out with the cursor of the mc1, the mc2 becomes invisible even if the left button of the mouse is pressed. And now don't detect the onRollOut if the button of the mouse is pressed.
For my newspaper i am creating each page has a next button and a previous button. I have assigned the previous button on one page to attach the movie of the page previous to it and then tested my movie. However when i click the previous button the movieclip does load but loads behind the starting moveiclip. So what i want to do is when the previous button is cliked, that page (movieclip) with the previous button on its dissappears and the previous page loads.
I have managed to assign them unique names then tracing it out. However when I click to see which it is the name is being overridden to the newly spawned one?
ActionScript Code: public function mouseHover(e:Event) { iceZombieContainer.getChildByName(iceZombie.name); trace(iceZombie.name);
i want to animate an object entering the stage when a button is clicked but when another button is clicked i want the object to exit with an animation..I can do it in the timeline but idont know how it is done with code....
I have parent movieclip and in that many different children movieclips
What i want to do is when i CLICK, i want to detect which movieclip it has clicked and call corresponding function (defined by onpress event) of that movieclip.
Basically I want the user to be able to create a line on runtime by first pressing mouse_down on the stage estabilisting the first xy points of the line and then move the cursor somewhere else to a different x, y co-ordinate where the user finishes the line by pressing the mouse_down button again. How to do this? I need it to be a straight line
I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. I want this solution in AS3 with oop concept.
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
Ok. So heres what I am trying to do. I want one movie clip to follow another one that I move around with actions on the main timeline.The problem is that the follower clip is linked to a class file and I cannot find a way to find the players position.
I'm completely new to AS3/Flash programming, though I program in C/C++/C# in my job. These days I got a project idea which I think Flash would better fit than the other languages I mentioned above. I want to create an on-line automation application that can:
1. Control user mouse clicks, or eventually keyboard, pressing some keys;
2. Communicate/connect to the user's bluetooth device, establishing connections to the mobile devices attached to it - the web application in this case would act as a server.
I have two buttons when the user selects both buttons I want to display a movie clip. Basically I created a mouse down event to set a variable name for each button. I also created an on enter frame event that is listening when those two variables are true. When they are true I display a movieclip. how can you press two buttons at the same time and the answer is this is for an air app for ios. So the user can have one finger on one button and another finger on another button when both buttons are selected display something.
I had something along these lines:
Code: private var _isWinActive:Boolean = false; private var _item1IsSelected:Boolean = false; private var _item2IsSelected:Boolean = false;
On to the problem: I have a very simple flash, basically just a photo slideshow. The issue I'm having is this: I have a bunch of photos on the timeline, but I have a button on top of everything, just to give viewers the option to skip that particular scene. The button works, but only when the video timeline has reached the very end of the scene. It won't work before the end of the scene. The button actionscript is the most basic of basic:
I'm making a Century club timer, it is to execute on pressing the start button, and then run until finished (our paused, but thats not implemented yet). To keep the timer accurate I had to use the Date() function.The timer() function is used to update the displayed time. I tried using a while-loop for this, but then the whole thing would just freeze. :S So instead a use a infinite timer that ends when currentTime == targetTime.
I have a map that I made in flash, complete with up, down, left, right panning, and zoom in and zoom out functions that work by pressing buttons. Is there a script I can slap on the top of these that can make it so when I press and hold down, it continues the action until I release the button?
I have some movieclips containing mp3s, there is one the main movie clip with the background music playing constantly, and several others with short loops that sound only when u click on them....what I need is that when I clic one of the movie clips containing the short loop the MAin movie clip with the BG music to stop automatically..
Im having a problem with some rollover code im using for a movieClip, basically if the mouse runs over to fast the rollover animation is played but not the rollout as the mouse has left the SWF area. Is there anyway of telling where the mouse is on the screen so i can run a check to see if its in the swf or not and then run code accordingly.
Im creating a flash projector that opens some other projectors with the fscommand exec command. Is there a way of detecting when the mouse is over one or another to change some values of variables?
