Reading in text from a text file and flash seems to refuse to display the pound sign (£). Tried doing the url encode thing (%A3) but his dosent seem to work either. Can anyone shed any light on this?

When I fill the text field my plus button becomes able and I can press it for another text field, an so on. My problem is when I press the minus button, because the fields have to rearrange and I don't know how to do that.

For example, if the text file reads variable1=1 + 1; Flash displays "1 1".
Is there a special way to store plus signs in the text file so they are displayed properly?

I created a contact form for this Flash site using Actionscipt 2.0 The problem I'm having is that when I try to enter the @ sign (shift+') I get quotation marks and vice versa as if I were using a Mac instead of a PC. This only happens in the contact form and works fine when entered anywhere else such as the address bar or a search engine.

I'm wondering what the process would be for importing the filenames of songs minus the .mp3 extension into Flash would be? I want to import the filenames, and then create a for loop that goes through and adds some html tags to each name, and eventually I'll spit out a text file of it all for me to copy and import into a search function on a webpage. I think I can work through the latter, but I was wondering how to originally import the filenames into a swf?

Because this is not what I'm trying to do, I only want to encrypt the sign up and sign in data.

I have a datagrid column with numbers in it. How do I:

As far as I know theres in no way to cahnge the alpha of a dynamic text box. I put one in a movie clip and when i try to change the alpha of it everything else in it changes its alpha but the not the DT box. Could someone plz verify for me that u can't change alpha and help me find a component that allows alpha control with a dynamic text box. thx in advance.

I want to be able to click on the name of one of the songs and have it load the lyrics in the main text box. I'm sure it's simple, I'm just new.

But when I try to use a downloaded font, the text shows up with a vertical rectangle instead of a plus sign (mytextField.text = "+250 Points"; ).The font that I'm using (Arcade Classic) has a plus sign character that I can type in to the field in Flash, but AS3 won't cut it. This is after selecting All glyphs and putting in + on the extra characters to embed.
