I have an AIR app using GraphAPI_Desktop_1_8_1.swc to access FacebookDesktop. I call FacebookDesktop.login eg: FacebookDesktop.login(handleLogin);and all is good, the login window opens and the user logs in. But! when I add extra permission, for example: FacebookDesktop.login(handleLogin,{perms:"publish_stream"}); In the 'handleLogin' callback function I get the following error: message, An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.

I'm working with the Facebook Actionscript API (no PHP or Javascript), and I'm having trouble granting access to extended permissions, like publish_actions. I'm using the following login:

Facebook.login(handleLogin, opts);
I get two "Request for Permission" windows. The first says my app needs access to "Your Photos". The second says my app would like permission to "Access posts in your News Feed" and "Access your data anytime". Why can't I request access to "publish_actions"? It looks like there may be two permissions levels - regular and "extended". It looks like extended permissions may require a "scope" parameter, instead of "perms". How/where to use the "scope" parameter.

We have been purchased a training course made with Flash. When we received the course (a SWF file with external files inside a "data" directory, images, videos, etc), we realized that it was necessary to explicity give permissions to Flash Player to access the content in the CD drive. We think that is not a good idea to distribute a CD where the user have to do "extrange things" to make it work.
So, we talked with the developer and he sent us an .EXE file with the course, that obiously works fine (al the content in the CD is readed without user interaction), but it only works in Windows machines.
The question is: is it possible to publish an SWF that can access to the CD content without user interaction? We are almost sure that the answer is "yes" because we have a lot of "magazines" cds with SWF files that load the contents from CD (text and images) and they work perfectly "as is".

When attempting use the the Adobe GraphAPIDesktop library for use with Adobe Flex and AIR I can login to Facebook and retireve wall posts etc ok using FQL or Graph API calls. When attempting to retrieve users photos I can only get tagged photos when using "me/photos". I am trying to use FQL whcih should work, but when using:

I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
var permissions:Array = ['publish_stream'];
Facebook.login( onFacebookLogin, { perms:permissions.join(',') } );
However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):
Facebook.ui( "stream.publish", "popup", params );
Does anyone know of a work around this issue to make the share popup come up just like the login popup?

I'm using the actionscript api for a flash application on the web. I would like to perform actions which require an access token, but I'm unsure of the security implications of using this in flash (which can be decompiled). Is the access token something I need to keep secret?
N.B. Specifically I'm trying to post game achievements which require the app's access token to be passed. But I'm not sure how I can do this securely from flash (or whether this is not an issue).

I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.

I have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??

I'm trying to build an app, which should have Flash Player control, which plays SWF from server (certain URL). For Flash Player ActiveX you have to save SWF file to a temporary location to load it and play, isn't it? You'll have to create a corresponding link that you can pass to the Flash Player ActiveX and then delete SWF file after it is played. Of course, high security level can't be guaranteed, but I think it's good, if at least no temporary files are created (can be intercepted LOCALLY). So the question is how to make Flash Player ActiveX be able to load SWF file directly from any source without usage of temp files?

I have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :

I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?

Like some others here, I am trying to write a music player that will play live stream (shoutcast mp3). I've tried both Flex (Flash Builder 4.5.1) and Flash CS5.5, it works great when I play the SWF on the PC, but when tranferred to the phone I hear nothing, although it is streaming, I assume that it is something to do with the permissions, but I'm not sure. I am working on a flash video recorder.When the video recorder applications loads , a camera permission dialog box opens asking the user to either allow or deny access to the camera or microphone.The problem is that on mac firefox the the user is not able to click on the allow or deny buttons.In fact the entire flash dialog box does not respond to any mouse clicks. When you right click on the flash area to manually open the security window it opens .But even here there is no response to mouse clicks.Using the keyboard i am able to shift focus from allow button to deny buttons or any other part of the dialog box but nothing happens on pressing the enter key.In short, the recorder application freezes at the very first step in mac firefox.

I can't find in the Adobe Facebook API how to log the user out of Facebook. The FacebookSessionUtil (and the related sessions and Facebook classes) all have a .logout() function, which will invalidate the user's current *session* within the swf, but it doesn't log the user out of Facebook.
What am I missing here? How are you supposed to log the user out of Facebook with this API? Since it's part of the TOS for Facebook Connect apps, you'd think this would be available in the API somewhere.

The current workflow is as follows:
user clicks a button sends a Loader to see if the user has permission if the user has permission uploads a file
Unfortunately, this gives:
SecurityError: Error #2176: Certain actions, such as those that display a pop-up window, may only be invoked upon user interaction, for example by a mouse click or button press.
It appears that as a security feature, Flash 10 disallows certain functions (such as uploading a file) unless it is preceded by a mouse click or button press. However, since I am first loading the request for permission, it no longer see the MouseEvent event (presumably in the stack) and thus throws a SecurityError.

Often, but not always, the first few clicks on the "Allow" button on the Flash camera permissions dialog are ignored. This is very frustrating for users. And for me, when I'm testing code! I'm afraid I don't really know what else to say about the problem to give more insight. My hunch is that it has something to do with getting focus on the embed element, but that is merely a guess.

I'm changing the way I build my UI from this:

...to a totally dynamic UI based on what is returned from the DB.I've read about role-based access control and understand that it's best that the server generates the UI after a user is authenticated, but apart from re-doing the entire backend to store MXML et al., is there a better approach? Is it a bad idea to have a Permissions object that has properties like:
showTabOne:Boolean = true;
allUserToEditGrids:Boolean = false;
The components visibility and includeInLayout properties will be bound to these values. The UI will also allow a user to create new roles and set permissions.The only drawback I see is that every time a new feature is added, the app will have to be recompiled to update the bindings.

I would be very grateful if anyone can shine any light on the problem I am having with Flash CS 5 for OS X 10.5 and 10.6. A local admin account allows a user to export a flash project file as a quicktime file no problem. However, when a network user tries to do exactly the same thing, i receive a "unknown error" message.
We are running our iMacs via active directory and open directory. I have added Flash to the allowed applications list in Workgroup manager and have allowed access to library paths etc. So basically a flash file wont export as a quicktime file under OS x when logged on as a network user.
We have tried different export areas (desktop, removable drive, network home folder) but no joy. The permissions must be blocked elsewhere.

I'm creating a small app to run from CD-Rom/local installation that will use multiple shared objects for data storage. To ensure proper saving without surprising the user with a permissions dialog unexpectedly, I'd like to request unlimited data storage on first time app launch - Joey Lott shows how to do this in the Actionscript Cookbook... request=mySO.flush(1024 * 500);
My question is,Can I perform this permissions request with the user a single time with a generic app SO in global fashion, so that the permissions would be set for any SOs created during the use of the product (all written to same SO directory),or do I have to request
permissions for each and every SO created? Since the latter would be unacceptable from a UE standpoint, that means stuffing all app data into a single SO which doesn't seem so great from a data config perspective...

I need to know what the details are of the file permissions of an adobe AIR app. Specifically, to where can may it write text files? Anywhere on the local system? I heard Adobe has a set of "Sandbox Permissions" but these just confuse me as I don't know where they apply. Additionally I wish to know if you need some kind of special permission to append to a file somewhere on the system.

I'm using 64 bit Windows 7, I tried to download it on both Firefox and Google Chrome, I used the uninstaller on this site so I shouldn't have any current Flash installed. When I go to try and install the new flash 10.1, it tells me...."A required file (C:WindowsSysWOW64MacromedFlashNPSWF32.dll:5) could not be written due to insufficient permissions."
