Jun 15, 2010I am brand new to scripting in Flash, and was hoping I could get some help on a question. I have an animation that is 300 frames long. The first 100 frames are an animated 'ad' (for lack of a better term), the second 100 frames are a different ad, and the third 100 frames are the last ad. This can be viewed straight from beginning to end (and is intended to loop if no action is taken), but I would also like to add some functionality to the animation, so that people can jump forward to the next ad, or back to the previous ad (hitting back from the first ad would take them to the third ad, and vice versa.)

This does not turn up any errors when I test the movie, but the functionality does not work. Am I anywhere near a working script, or am I attempting this in a completely wrong way?

Dec 19, 2006i have on a close button code which says gotoAndPlay this frame (the onrelease effect) etc...anyway at the end of this effect i have a stop aswell as _root.gotoAndStop("home"); the home that appears there and what your looking at, at the end of the effect is the same thing...so why am i getting this jumping or flash? before it goes back to normal?

Nov 30, 2011I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]

PHP Forms Not Quite Working - Flash Jump To The Next Frame Once The Form Has Been Submitted?
Nov 24, 2009I've designed a site with 2 forms that use PHP. One has 3 form fields (name, email, message) which I've called 'samples'. The other has one field where an email address is submitted called 'email' for a newsletter sign up, and the pages jump to frames once the data is sent. Admittedly I've used a tutorial for this, but haven't changed anything other than the PHP file names and everything associated with these files in flash in the actions panel.I've assigned this code to the send buttons

AND have added this to the MovieClip containing the Form fields
onClipEvent(data){ _root.nextFrame();}
The problems i'm having are that all the data isn't being received correctly. So the message form isn't working, it's only sending the first field. The newsletter form is using the samples.php file not the email.php. And secondly, where Flash should jump to the next frame once the form has been submitted, it's actually jumping to the end frame (stop actions on all frames).

Mar 24, 2011I am trying to make a text link within a scroll box jump to another frame within the same Flash file. Is this possible without having to make a button or movie clip? For some reason if I insert an object like a movie clip or button in the scroll box, it appears in a different area when I publish the file so I can't use that option for links.
I need to be able to highlight the text and then program it to jump to another frame label.
Flash 10 :: Timeline Play Doesn't Jump Back To First Frame?
Oct 10, 2011I have two embedded flv's in the timeline, one after the other. There are no errors in the video files. When the "playhead" in the exported swf comes to the end of the two combined videoclips, it jumps back to the first frame of the 2nd video clip for a fraction of a second, before playing from the start of the timeline as it is supposed to. I have explicitly done a "gotoandplay(1) in a separate action layer, at the last frame of the "movie", but that's not what happens.

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.

Mar 13, 2011So I have this AIR app coded in flex where I have several floating native windows and what I want is to detect when a user clicks outside of a window so that I can close it. (I don't want to use the PopupManager Class and would want to use the native windows).
My question is, is there a way to detect a click outside of a spark window, or alternativley is there some root container/object which is a parent to all the native windows so that a click inside any native window would bubble up to it? (Apparently the stage object of the root windowed application is not that object since each window is not a child of the stage for the root application).

When the user closes the pop up window, I'd like for the parent window to un-fade back to normal. Is this possible? I can do the first half of it and make the background window fade to 75% black. The difficult thing is making it fade back to normal when the user closes the pop up window.My thoughts are that I need to attach some code to the browser's built in close window button. It might require some javascript or a fscommand. I'm not sure.

Try resizing the window and you'll notice that the background is vector and it looks like the scale mode is set to "showAll". BUT, the photos look like they have a separate scale mode set to "noScale". They don't resize.
