ActionScript 3.0 :: Fullscreen Video But Control Bar Does Not Scale
Jul 1, 2009
I'm not using flvplayback. I'm using a simple video player that has a pause button on top of it. I want the pause button to just look exactly the same. I've got a ton of other elements on the site, but I just want the video to go fullscreen and the pausebutton to stay the same size...
I'm having an issue with an FLV video playback in a scene. When I go to fullscreen mode, I seem to lose the ability to adjust the video object.
I am loading a new video via FLVPlayerback(). Since the video is being loaded into the scene on top of everything else, I use swapChildren() to put my button back on top of the video. When the video is done playing, I removeChild() the video.
This works in the normal playstate.
However, if I am in fullscreen mode, swapChildren() and removeChild both do not work. If I exit fullscreen mode, they are indeed working.
I like to make a fullscreen desktop application, with an FLV, using the FLV Playback component. However, Id like there to be a Fullscreen button on the playback component, which will allow the user to toggle the video fullscreen.I cant, for the life of me, figure out how to do this with various settingsit should be easy! This is what I have--is there a better way to do things (without a custom movie player)? My inital settings are as follows:
Fullscreen mode and I have been battling for a while in this Flex application, and I'm coming up short on Google results to end my woes. I have no problem going into fullscreen mode by doing a Application.application.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;, but the rest of the content just sits there in the top, left corner at it's original size.
All right, says I, I'll just do a stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL and make it figure out how to pull this off. And it looks like it does. Except that when you mouse over the individual checkboxes and buttons and various components, they all fidget slightly. Just a slight jump up or down as they resize...on mouse over. Well, this is frustrating, but bearable. I can always just invoke invalidateSize() explicitly for all of them.
But for the comboboxes. The ones at the bottom have their menus go off the bottom of the screen, and when I pop out of fullscreen mode, their drop downs cut off half way. I have no idea how to fix that. Can someone step in here, and put me out of my misery?
What is the right way to scale a Flex application up to fullscreen?[code]...
I am working on a presentation deck with a resolution of 2880 x 1571. I am in need of some help on two fronts for the final result. First off, I need it to go to fullscreen immediately upon opening. I am not sure if we will be using this through a browser, or stand alone flash player, but I am not having much luck getting the fullscreen functionality to work.
Also, do to the high resolution, "if" I go fullscreen, will it scale to fullscreen? Or is there a way to do this? Those things being said, I tried a full screen script, however, I lost some functionality on two swfs that I load from external files within the deck is this normal? Or something I am missing.
I pretty much got it working. The only problem I'm having is that it's only full screen based off of the width. I want the picture to maintain it's scale, so I need it to fill the height if necessary and cut the sides off of the picture. You can see what I mean by clicking [URl]. Resize the browser so it's a lot taller than it is wide and you'll see what I mean. I want it to fit both height and width no matter which is taller. I've played around with it all morning and nothing.
Code: // pic_mc is the movieclip that I used to load my full-screen background image. function bgResize() { pic_mc._width = Stage.width; pic_mc._yscale = pic_mc._xscale; if (pic_mc.height >= _yscale) { pic_mc._x = (Stage.width)/2; pic_mc._y = (Stage.height)/2; [Code] ......
How does flash scale for fullscreen? For example, if I draw a shape and give it a width and height of 100px (square)...does that scale up proportionally when the flash is made full screen? Or does that object stay 100px x 100px?
basically i got this video i need to make interactive, where the user will be able to click on hotspots in a video as it scales -- any possible ideas or directions?
The idea i got is if i know my hotspot is initially at x:700 y:300, and the video scales, i just move it over by that much of a factor -- from what my current resolution was to my new resolution?
I am building a flash video player with a custom UI, and admittedly I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing. I tried altering a skin, but that always comes out wonky due to whatever coding they use. So I'm altering single video components and putting them in the mc what I want them. It looks great, but the problem is that when video goes to full screen, all of the controls dissappear and I can't figure out how to make them show up. How do I get a movie clip to display on top of the video when it goes to full screen in flash AS3?
I am facing a weird issue while using FLVPlayback control.I have created a class which internally creates an instanceof the FLVPlayback control and sets the skin toSkinOverPlayStopSeekFullVol.swf.In the main program I have created n instances for this classto load different flv files [just like any multi windowedapplication, with each window playing its own flv file]. Once I click FullScreen button the video loaded last alwaysget in to full screen mode; irrespective of the
I have an EXE flash project that has a menu with several videos in a little player. The player has a fullscreen button that makes the video go fullscreen. When the video is over, the widescreen video is frozen on the last frame and stays there. I need the player to automatically leave widescreen mode at the end of the video and go back to the regular menu player.
I'm using AS3 to call up the videos from the menu clicks, so I'm not scared to get into code using actionscript. I just don't know what to do.
I have an Adobe Air 2.5 app that has been written in Flash CS5.There is a need to play video's from within that app and I am not in the mood to write a video player from scratch. Soooooo... we attempted to use the FLVPlayer from http:[url].... but could not get the thing to work properly at all through their API.
The video player must go full screen and have the normal playhead scrubbing, play / pause / stop, and volume controls. Can you make the FLVPlayback control go fullscreen?
I have flash ui built over the chromeless youtube player right now and I'm wondering if there is anyway to set certain sprites within the stage to not scale on fullscreen without having to do inverted scaling.
Edit: I use FlashDevelop as my IDE and building this purely in as3
If I have a flex swc emebbed in my html page, and the flex swc contains an flex 4 videoDisplay player, which has an option for fullscreen. How do I make the fullscreen work. Because when I click on fullscreen button for the videaDisplay, I get an error: [code]Connect with the people you need to get the job done. Unlike other tools, Cloud Groups lets you work with anyone, whether they're inside or outside the company firewall. The stop button plays as expected. The play/pause button plays as expected. The issue is when you press pause which will cause the play button to appear, then press stop. the video automatically plays and it shouldn't. I have bolded the control button script for convenience.
by following a tutorial on [URL], I was able to display a youtube video in flash, but the problem is that the video doesn't have a control menu. Just wondering if there is a way to make one, either it is customized or some default menu provided by youtube or flash.
basic coding plan for scaling up and down the video at run time when I open a digital scrap book. The idea is very simple.. I have a Digital Interactive scrap book which will flip to the page which has the event housed on that page and will show a Thumbnail of the event. In the meantime the Loader will keep loading the movie file and show a progress bar. Once when the loader is done with, I want the Video to scale up to the size of the Stage and then play the video and once the file has reached the end it should scale down the video and go back to the Index page-the home page whioch started this..
Im just a few week into AS and scripting in general so Im not sure why what I've got is working.
I want to create a scaling video that is full screen - from scratch. I later want to dynamically load a graphic and tile it over the video - I've done that here
I was at the point that the video I was loading would only resize to the stage when the stage Event.RESIZE fired. I need the video scaled when it loads - so my approach was to try and do something with the onMetaData height and width values. I was going to create a function which returned the proportionally scaled native values back to Video(). However I'm not savvy enough to know how to get those values back into the playVideo function.
Along the way I stumbled on something that seems to work - but I dont really undersand why! - or if its 'best practice'.
I made a website this week for school about Pink (URL...).But when I enter fullscreen mode (not available online) the website completely vanishes and the only item I get to see is the video from the videos page.[code]
i have a swf that is 900x500 that plays videos which are usually in the 500 range on width.is there an easy way to only have the video show on fullscreen?
I have embedded a flash video on my website. [URL]...I am having the problem that it seems to rescale fine in Firefox on the Mac, but in Firefox in Windows it just crops the video.
Here it my HTML <object width="650" height="500"> <param name="movie" value="How To Add A Location"> <embed src="http://www.fribblesoft.com/zs-content/How_To_Add_A_Location.swf" width="650"
I used to make fullscreen Flash websites, using 100x100 width/height and "No Scale" on Publish Settings.Everything is ok on a browser, since I can position elements using relative coordinates for liquid layouts. Now I have to make a fullscreen standalone .exe projector. To get fullscreen I use fscommand("fullscreen", "true") on the first frame and it works.
The problem is:If I create a 1024x768 Flash movie, even with 100x100 and "No Scale" activated, the movie remains at 1024x768.So, if I trace stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight, those remain respectively at "1024" and "768", but I need for the movie to get the max width and max height available on the system.
In the browser it happens automatically, but in the Flash projector it doesn't. how can I get the movie to match the exact size of the screen where it runs?I've tried with Capabilities.screenResolutionX and Y but there is no way (and I think it's normal) to set the stage.width and stage.height properties on runtime.
I am just starting to use AS3 (grumble) and I have a video application that when it runs fullscreen it hides all other movie clips and objects on the stage. I would like to display certain objects/movie clips over the fullscreen video.
I'm trying to center my FLVPlayback video programmatically in AS3 but I'm having a hard time with it.[code]This code isn't working, does anyone have any ideas how to get this to work?
I am working on a project with video player in it using Video object that plays flv files or FMS streams. The user can switch to fullscreen browser mode. And here is my problem - most of the time the aspect ratio of the video is different from the screen ratio so it looks stretched. I want to put black spaces left and right or top and bottom (depending on the current video and screen ratios) so that it looks normal without stretching.
