Dec 13, 2009I am working on a project that uses PHP , as3, and possibly some AMFPHP.
The project allows users to upload and download images among other things. I have been trying to gather as much info about making things as secure as possible. I've got some good advise about using .htaccess files, and a few other tricks.
My main question at the moment is how to hide the "path" info from and to the PHP / assets / and to and from the AMFPHP sevices ...
Currently I have all the paths hard-coded in one .as that returns an object with the paths to any of the other classes that need/request it. I found this method to work well since I only need to change this one .AS , and it will branch out to the other classes that need it.
I'm not super worried about others decompiling my code, and they could probably "sniff" out the paths if they really wanted. I'm mostly concerned with allowing others easy access to all of my AMFPHP services or being allowed to parts of the site I do not wish them to be. basically I realize that things aren't gonna be 100% secure regardless, but would like to take precautions.
So to cut to the chase ... Whats the best- simplest way to obscure / hide the paths being used in a PHP - AS3 project ? ... I entertained the possibly of PHP includes or even a SQL database if need be. I rather not spend a bunch of time and money on questionable obfuscator software, unless there's a tried and true one for flash (not flex). .. and I currently do not have a SSL but don't know how critical - common this is.
ActionScript 2.0 :: Trigger Show/hide Multiple Div Layers From Flash Movie?
Nov 18, 2007I need to show and hide multiple DIV layers by clicking on buttons inside an embedded flash movie. I looked around and the closest I got was this tutorial here:

but the problem is I need 10 buttons to each show one layer while hiding the other ones. For example, I click button 1, layer 1 shows, then I click on button 5, layer 1 is hidden and layer 5 shows etc.
How can the above code be split so instead of showing all DIV layers at once, it shows one and hides the rest??

Apr 13, 2009I have a movie clip that displays an embedded html with a bunch of divs that are expected to hide and show other divs when the users click them. i.e. imagine that you have a span with an instruction in javascript to show a div when you click it. I already made the html file, the external css and the external js. The movieclip (in actionscript 3.0) loads and displays the html content and also the css, but i haven't managed to figure out how am i supposed to link or use the javascript to do the trick. I've tried so far doing an exhausting research over the internet for the past few days and the only infromation i've got is that web developers use externalInterface to access javascript functions, but they use flash buttons to execute the js code, and it appears to me that i cannot use or embed flash btns in my site. I don't know, I'm kinda new to flash and this is the first time I work with actionscript 3.[code]or how do I achieve de hide/show thing with another method? I'll be wandering around the site in case you have any extra doubts about this subject.

Dec 4, 2007We've got a green screened video playing in a flash movie over top of our html content.when the movie ends, flash uses external interface .api to call a javascript function which swaps the flash movie out with a 5 x 5 pixel flash movie (rewrites the <div>).this works and you can interact with the html content after the flash movie in all browsers except firefox.anyone know of any work-arounds or is there a better way of handling flash over html in this fashion?

Oct 7, 2009I'm trying to access a variable from my main movie in a loaded movie. I can't get it to work however. The movie loads into the main movie but I can't access anything from that main movie. I see that there a few write ups out there about this, but I just can't get it. I attached a zip as well as the source below.

Mar 15, 2004i have three mc's that look like cd's Three instances of the same movie clip. they go into a player onRelease. do any of you know how to do this... if i click on a cd it looks if any other cd's are clicked. if anyof them are clicked then it tells them to gotoAndPlay (thisKeyFrame) in that cd movie clip(which would be a simple tween and will look like the cd comes back out).
i tried setting variables in the cdMovie clip like on the first frame onValue="no" but once it goes in and stops the onValue="yes". and then i had AS on each cd looking if the onValue variable is yes or no in each one of them. but for some reason it can't read it? Do you know what i should do? maybe create an object or something for each button?

Feb 5, 2009Because of SEO considerations I am trying to use flash as little as possible in my site. I need it though for uploading files. I like to have an accurate progress bar and I find flash is great for this.Anyway once my file is uploaded, successfully, I would like the flash to go away (either exit or hide itself) and reveal an "Add To Basket" button underneath which is written in HTML.Failing that, is there a way to get flash to change a CSS style of an object so I could have my Add To basket button hidden and then made visible when the flash tell it?

Sep 2, 2010I would like to create a website 'banner' application in flash that uses action script to show or hide different movie clips based on a start and end date.
Originally I would have to manually upload new banners to a website one at a time. But if I had one file that could contain multiple banners I could have them turn on and off based on what day it was. Is there a way to do this with action script?

I want to dynically open this movie clip and move it to a specific location (x,y) on the main timeline on top of everything else.
Then I want to draw lines on that new movie clip that display on top of the image on that movie clip.
how to draw the lines, (well at least I think I do)

If I add Mouse.hide() to a preexisting script, I get the following error; line1 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method hide through a reference with static type Class. If I add Mouse.hide():void; to a preexisting script, I get the following error: line1 Label must be a simple identifier Once this has happened, if I then remove ALL lines of script from the file...but leave the Mouse.hide(); [or Mouse.hide():void;], and also remove all objects from the stage, when I run the file, I still get those same errors.
