I'm trying to load a jpg from [URL]. I load if from my computer, it works.. load it online, doesn't. And it doesn't give me any errors or anything. The completeListener is not working! Is there a problem with flash loading from other domains or what?.. If I test it, it shows in Safari's activity that the jpg was loaded, but it won't display it.

I figured out how to make the external SWF files show on its own layer below other layers on the main time line of the Main SWF. I created a blank movie clip file on it's own layer of the main time line and used this to call out to it:This worked perfectly. I'm a total begginer in flash and action script, I do have some knowledge in other programming languages.By trying to help a friend I added a contact form in his company website, that was made by someone else.his site is full flash with a index frame that loads several pages.After I built the new contact.swf and tested locally and also hosted by accessing it straight from the browser and embeded I tried to replace it with the old contact.swf that had no contact form.During the tests, everything was fine but when included in the site the form is not functioning.The form has a few rules that prevent empty fields with a green text warning. when I access it embeded separatelly in a web page it works, when I access it loaded by index.swf it does nothinh even if I press the submit button.So I assume the problem is in the index.swf action script.the button that loads the contact page has this code:

When going to the links on the flash banners at the bottom work perfectly. there is an increased frequency in people visiting the site and only typing and in those instances the links do not work.

I configured the httpd.conf as mentioned in d6093a7e2f8312a374a1bde-8000.html but when i call a streaming url e.g. http://<IP>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8 the request is still handled by the old apache, not by the FMS
View 9 RepliesI am trying to load an external swf image gallery onto a page in my website. I am new to action script and coding itself. I have spent the last five months perfecting my website and now am at the last stretch with just a couple minor issues but it is taking the life out of me trying to figure this out. I have tried to do the empty mc but just can't seem to get the swf to load. I don't know if I'm using the right code or even putting it in the right place. I even tried to use a preloader that I down loaded but keep getting an error Security Sandbox Violation when i load my external swf.
What I am trying to do is get the swf to load on the page that slides onto the stage when I select the gallery button. The main page is set up with a stationary bar with five buttons. One is for the gallery page that loads and that's where I want the swf to load when it slides onto the stage. I am using CS5 and AS 2.Here is the link to my site.I am also having issues with my contact form. I have deleted code and added code that I have found on many different sites but nothing I have tried has workedI am not to worried about the contact form if it's not an easy fix as I can buy one for 5 bucks.I am even willing to pay a small amount through PayPal to buy you a couple rounds or something for your time.Also don't be alarmed by the screeching sound when you click on the page links. it's only for a couple pages then it goes away. Has something to do with the MP3 music I added. Trying to get that taken care of now.
Ok what i have is a site made from 1 flash file where i am loading external swf files for my picture galleries. now what is happening is in Flash, dreamweaver and when i test the site, everything is working perfectly, the problem is coming when i go into internet explorer go to the site and click on the flash button to go to the picture gallery, that is when it is giving me a Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.

[FMX] I am having trouble loading an XML file on an external server into my flash movie when it is uploaded. The data loads in fine when the flash file is on my local computer with the xml file on a server. As soon as the flash file is uploaded the XML data will not load in.
View 2 RepliesWe just moved FMS onto a new server and the fms seems to be working fine. But when I go to load a flv in flash using the component inspector i type in the content path for where the flv is located on the fms server and it just keeps saying 'Failed to load flv'. If i type the content path for the location on the old server it loads up fine. I honestly dont know what the problem is as everything is the same as it was on the old server just a different server with different IP address.

So I have this slideshow, meant to just cycle through 50 or so images, loading each up for a few seconds before it goes away. It obtains the information for the images from a database.For all my testing, it works as it should in IE, Firefox, Opera, and Safari on Windows.Yet I'm repeatedly told by someone that it does not work at all on Safari on Mac, but instead just forever shows the loading movieclip I have in.Sadly, I don't have a Mac and I don't know anyone, save for this person, who owns one, thus I'm unsure what is going on, let alone how to solve it.You can view it there. I'm just at a loss for why it's having issues. Is it just a single case, or is it Safari on Mac in general, or perhaps Mac itself in general?

I have one .swf that loads a second one on level 2.level 2 then in turn loads variables from a text file .The problem is that it works locally, but refuses to work on the server. The urls are all local. This is such a simple procedure, I can't figure out what is wrong..... are there limitations doing this via server vs. locally? I never get any "file open" errors locally. I've spent 2 hours on this.... I'm just using a simple LoadVars similar to this example:

I'm having trouble with this script. I have an external text file, from which all of the text on the page is loaded. I also have a series of thumbnails, but I need to have different numbers on each page, so I figured I'd put the number of thumbnails into the text file too and then run a loop to create the thumbnails and buttons dynamically. The loop works fine, until I try to use the value I have loaded from the text file. I think it is something to do with it being in a separate function, but I have tried making it _global.counter, I have tried putting the whole for() loop inside the myData.onLoad function. Basically, I have tried everything I can think of and still the loop does not run when the counter value is specified externally.

I know many have had problems getting a child .swf file to load once put on the server though it would work perfectly on the local machine.
The solution is simple: absolute linkage - so lets say your child .swf is located in a folder named myFile on the root folder and your parent .swf is on the root, and in your AS3, you are linking to an XML file which is in the myFile folder inside of a folder name "xml" like so:

in my projects i often use some xml files to load external text that i can format in css and it worked fine till now..i have a site that i am prograaming in italian and german and in both languages there is much text that contains special characters as "à " "ò" "è" "ù" "ä" "ü" and so on .. the problem is that when i write some text with this special characters in xml when the text is loaded in the flash this special characters are not recognised and instead of them a small square is displayed ..
i tryed to load the text from a html file instead of a xml file (because in HTML i know how to write theese special characters and let them display right in my html pages .. for example à = à but no way .. the flash now loades the text à instead of à ..

I found this tutorial online to load a external stylesheet to then load some text content in your box. [URL]. I applied it to my site but its not working! My settings are as follows:
stylesheet = saved under styles/flashStyles.css
text = saved under text/aboutus.txt
Dynamic box = named aboutUs_text

I'm using the kirupa fla source file for the hover caption URL...and have created an external movie file where I want the hover captions to appear to be loaded into the main movie swf. The hover captions don't work once this swf has been loaded but works as a standalone swf.

It just acts as if I just put a regular link to the sharefile login page. I figured this was too simple.
