View 9 RepliesI have three buttons and when I click the second one, the first stops working (e.g. no trace event and it won't go back to the frame "tab1") but the third still works. Then when I press the third button both the first and second no longer work. If I take out the gotoAndStop lines, the buttons work fine. The subsequent frames simply have stops on them.

What im trying to acomplish is to list some mcs by pressing buttons.I got 5 buttons and 5 mcs.If the user press for example 3 buttons the objective is to list that 3 selections in same selection order and if the user deletes the 2nd of the 3 selections the 3rd selection takes the place of the 2nd selection (a population list). I attached a link to the source file.

View 1 RepliesI am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?

View 1 RepliesI have 3 buttons and 3 MC's .each button tells it's MC to play and then stop at frame 15 and then tells the other two MC's to play if they are already at frame 15 and if not do nothing.i have it working to a point but after pressing each button a few times the script see's to stop working.

If I have 10 buttons, how do I keep track of the order of buttons I click on? For example, if I click buttons only in this order: button3, button6, button8, button2, something will happen. Maybe plays a sound tone such as sound.mp3. I'm going to use actionscript 2.0 in my movie.

When I click one of the 4 buttons, the image related to that button has to move to the hightest position. And ofcourse the previous highest one should be the one under the new highest image. Well, I tried to fix the script, but for some reason it gets all confused and starts switching images, and sometimes none.

That way the user has to click on them in order for them to disappear.

I have an SWF movie (1375 frames) and created a progress bar (248px wide) with a slider that moves according to the movie progress. I'm doing that next way:Calculating the distance for the slider to be moved each frame (248 / 1375) On each ENTER_FRAME moving the slider for the calculated distance The problem is - the movie ends far before the slider reaches the end of the progress bar.
I'm thinking that the distance (Step 1) is is somehow ends floored by Flash and the actual distance it moves the slider is smaller than required. That's why the movie ends, but the timeline control just passed the 2/3 of its way. My question is - is there any solution for the problem? Or any other way to go, if it's a wrong one?
I have a progress bar inside a repeater and therefore I will need to use getRepeaterItem to set it's progress as suggested in this question.
How can I do that such that the value of progress may be taken from repMonitor.currentItem.threatLevel?

I am creating an order form for my flash site. I have never done this before in flash but I have in visual basic. I have a few questions:
1. Is assigning variable names to checkboxes and radio buttons the same as in visual basic? I mean i know that you probably assign them in the properties. ex..say i name a radio button 'radio1', to run a check in my actionscript whether radio1 was checked or not would it be something like if(radio1){}
2. After the person fills out the form I would like to have the results of the order sent to a pre-specified email adress in a certain format. What would be a good way to do this?

View 1 RepliesI have two buttons when the user selects both buttons I want to display a movie clip. Basically I created a mouse down event to set a variable name for each button. I also created an on enter frame event that is listening when those two variables are true. When they are true I display a movieclip. how can you press two buttons at the same time and the answer is this is for an air app for ios. So the user can have one finger on one button and another finger on another button when both buttons are selected display something.

View 1 RepliesOn to the problem: I have a very simple flash, basically just a photo slideshow. The issue I'm having is this: I have a bunch of photos on the timeline, but I have a button on top of everything, just to give viewers the option to skip that particular scene. The button works, but only when the video timeline has reached the very end of the scene. It won't work before the end of the scene. The button actionscript is the most basic of basic:

There is probably a better way to do what I'm trying to do, but I simply want to make a variable change its value when I press the arrows keys. For example if I wanted to cycle through weapons, if weapon=0 then the character is holding a certain weapon, then I press the down arrow key and weapon=1 and if weapon=1 the character is holding another weapon. And if I press up weapon=0 again so he's holding the first weapon again. And say there's 8 weapons, if weapon>8 then weapon=0 again so its a cycle. I tried arrow key functions and all they worked for was making a symbol move. I think I knew how to do this stuff in gamemker pretty well but Flash is very different.

The movieclips to press are nested inside another movieclip so i need them to call the other movieclip which is in the stage.
To explain better menu1 is inside cont3. Menu_down is in the stage and i need to call it after pressing menu1.
Btw menu1 is showing an external swf also,is there any problem with it?
I'm making a Century club timer, it is to execute on pressing the start button, and then run until finished (our paused, but thats not implemented yet). To keep the timer accurate I had to use the Date() function.The timer() function is used to update the displayed time. I tried using a while-loop for this, but then the whole thing would just freeze. :S So instead a use a infinite timer that ends when currentTime == targetTime.

Is there a script I can slap on the top of these that can make it so when I press and hold down, it continues the action until I release the button?
