ActionScript 2.0 :: FMX Sliding Windows Tutorial?

Apr 13, 2003

I must stress before I start that I am very new to flash and actionscripts. I have just completed the sliding window tutorial on this site. [URL]..I am wanting to use it for my own site. My problem is that when I scale everything by 500% and make my movie bigger, the windows don't scroll the same. I understand that I have to change the values in the script on the invisible buttons but I don't know what to use. I tried putting in numbers in by trial and error but I can't get them all working.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Email Flash Form W/checkboxes In ScrollPane Example/Tutorial Request?

Dec 9, 2008

I was wondering if anyone knew of a tutorial or working example involving a email flash form, which uses:a scrollpane - which houses an indefinite number of checkboxesan input field for emailn input field for name...and the form uses PHP.[Brief overview - I have a page that provides a listing of companies. There are several hundred, so I placed them in a scrollpane. Each company has a checkbox next to it. When a user selects a company - they can select more than one - types in there name and email address, the form should send the information associated with the checked boxes to the designated email address.]I'm able to put all the elements together, and get them working fine. However, I'm stuck at the form level - trying to retrieve the checkbox information, as well as determining which checkboxes are checked. I'm using this as a base example to work n particular, I'm having a problem calling a variable from the 1st frame of the swf from within the form movieclip, so that I can load that and pass it to email.

Php :: Send POST Request With X-amf (Flash) Request Header?

Apr 13, 2011

I'm trying to reproduce a POST request that was captured from WireShark using PHP. This POST request was sent by a Flash (.swf) object, so it's a little bit complicated in configuring the header.It does not print out anything in the end, so there must be something wrong with PHP code that I could not see.Here is what WireShark captured:

POST /engine/ HTTP/1.1

Host: abcdef.com

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0

The result is a blank page instead of response from server.

Expect A Standard Calculator To Work?

Jul 16, 2010

I was thinking of developing a free online calculator in flash. It would be a standard calculator with basic functions like "+", "-", "*" etc. and an advanced calculator with more functions which would be similar to the scientific pocket calculator.

And I have a dilemma regarding the standard calculator. It's about the way it does the calculations. How would you expect a basic calculator (not an advanced one) to calculate this expression: 1+2*3 equals 7 or 9? On paper the result is clearly 7 but basic pocket calculator calculates the expression in line, unaware of the higher priority operators and give you 9 as a result to the expression above.

In the advanced version of the online flash calculator this expression would equal 7 but I have doubts about what people expect from a basic calculator.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Creating A Savings Calculator?

Jun 15, 2009

I am currently trying to design a Savings calculator for my client's website (in Flash CS3). This is my 'trying to learn Flash' project so to speak.I have attached a jpeg of the calculator I have designed (and noted the inputs and outputs FYI).

Below is the actionscript so far - please bear in mind that I have sourced some of this code from researching online, and most of it I know is incorrect but I have included it to show what the calculations for the boxes should be. Anything online on Flash calculations seems too simple to apply to what I'm doing. I read that my Calculate button should be a 'Button' but I then read elsewhere that I should choose my button from Components-User Interface-Button but it's properties say that it's a 'Movie Clip'. And I'm clueless as to how to modify this to look like my button design.

Code:
var num:Number;
function Calc() {
num1 = Input1_txt.text;[code].....
