I have a dynamic text field on stage bringing in text from a .txt file. pretty basic. scrollbar works fine with this setup.

View 3 RepliesI am having some trouble with a dynamic html-enabled textfield and the uiscrollbar component. I created a dynamic textfield on the stage, named it "mytext". Enable it for HTML and make it multiline. I added this action: mytext.htmlText="test<BR><BR>test<BR><BR>test" The html shows up just fine. I add a uiscrollbar to it. It is definitely targeted for "mytext". Now when I test it I get: _level0.mytext in the textbox instead. When I trace mytext.htmlText, I get the correct HTML but it just doesn't show up. When I shorten my content so that the UIscrollbar isn't necessary, the HTML is again displayed correctly. Now if I update the code to say instead:

I have a window on my Flash stage that has some scrollable copy in it. The problem is, I can't seem to have any formatting for the text ... if I select a word or two to make bold, it all turns bold. I gather I need to use the "Display Text as HTML" checkbox and then paste in some HTML formatted text but this doesn't seem to work. I searched this forum and found that others were designating "htmlText" in Actionscript instead of just "text" ... that didn't work either. I probably just did it wrong, or maybe it's becuase I'm using the UI component "UIscrollBar" for it's scrolling of the text.
Is there anything else I need to do to be able to format some text with strong tags and maybe some href links?

I'm dragging the uiScrollbar into a dynamic text field. When I preview (control+enter) the scroll bar works fine. When I publish and preview in a browser the outline of the scroll bar is there but with out the parts/components up and down arrows the little bar you grab holt of and pull up and down.

I have 3 different dynamic text boxes filled with an even amount of content and I can link the UIScollBar to one of the boxes just fine, but I can't seem to find a way to make the content in all three boxes scroll simultaneously with a single UIScrollBar?

I have an app with a preloader - works fine until the content gets cached, then for some reason wont progress to the next slide - Fullscreen mode is set to full (if that makes a difference). It doesnt seem to happen consistently either.

I got 2 questions, first, this works good when i drag and stopdrag correctly(the requirements in the if are fullfilled). but if the requirements are not fullfilled i get an error saying that the place i'm referring to cant be null. I know that the problem lies after the || part but dont know how to resolve it. 2nd, isnt there a shorter way of doing these checks? Atm i'm going through alot of parents and getchildats and was wondering if there was another way.

View 1 Repliesi got an image gallery that reads data from an xml file. this xml formatted data is from a php file. when i open the gallery it loads the 1st image; when i click next it loads the 2nd and so forth... but as soon as it has loaded all the images once, it gets stuck. i dont know what to do. when i had the gallery read directly from an .xml file things were working fine but as soon as it was data from a php file that was xml formatted this problem started to occur.

My dilemma is with scrollTarget, I'm not sure what the actual target should be. I thought event.target would do the trick but I get a 1118: Implicit coercion error. When I trace event.target I get [object TextField] so I thought that's all I would need to do.

I have a weather applet using Flash and XML, its works great, but for some reason when i use a LoadMovie action to pull the SWF into my flash movie, it doesnt work. When i view the Weather.swf on my webserver it works just right. but when i pull Weather.Swf into Home.Swf it doesnt work.[code]i have a MC container on my stage called weather.i think for some reason when embedded its not reading the XML, any ideas?

I've tried to send some parameters to my flash app by flashvars. Unfortunently, it doesnt work. To embde flash I'm using SWFObject 2.2. I also use lib SWFAddress 2.4 (I'm stating this, because I've heard that some versions of swfobject and swfaddress are not compatible).

Ive updated to CS5 and now I have problems with the flash I am working on,when I export the timer doesnt work,in stead of saying **mins it just says mn with no number.Ive reloaded flash several times but still doing it,altho once it worked the first time I exported it but not again. No problem on CS4. Im guessing it must be some action script it doesnt like, unless something is corrupt on my computer.
