I have 3 different dynamic text boxes filled with an even amount of content and I can link the UIScollBar to one of the boxes just fine, but I can't seem to find a way to make the content in all three boxes scroll simultaneously with a single UIScrollBar?

This might be straight forward, but I would like to know how could one link dynamic text boxes so that the information would flow? In a way, the information would flow from:
(XML) Input A into BOXA00, BOXA01, BOXA02, BOXA03, etc.
(XML) Input B into BOXB00, BOXB01, BOXB02, BOXB03, etc.
(XML) Input C into BOXC00, BOXC01, BOXC02, , BOXC03, etc.
Can I create a custom text box shape? Or parhaps create two text boxes and link them together so the text flows from the first to the second?
Or is there another way of doing it I haven't thought of?
I'm using CS5 on a mac.

I'm dragging the uiScrollbar into a dynamic text field. When I preview (control+enter) the scroll bar works fine. When I publish and preview in a browser the outline of the scroll bar is there but with out the parts/components up and down arrows the little bar you grab holt of and pull up and down.

View 4 RepliesI have some dynamic text I want to change the attributes of. For instance, I would like the first few words of each paragraph to be BOLD and to be a different color. But when I select those words and change it to bold it makes ALL the text in the text box change to BOLD.

View 6 RepliesI'm cruising through the Classroom in a Book series for ActionScript 3.0 and I'm having problems with the uiscrollbar attaching to a text field. I've used them before, but this time when I drag it over to the text field it keeps jumpimg to the outside of the box instead of attaching and I can't seem to get in inside the box unless I manually change the X and Y settings and force it where I want it to be. Even then it doesn't work correctly.

I've got a flash project with an empty content clip instance called content_mc. Depending on the button pressed, it attaches a movieclip from the library with the name contentDisplay_mc under content_mc. Now the structure of these subclips are pretty much the same with a textbox called Display. The code on Frame 1 of main timeline:

I am at work right now trying to create a power point for our Christmas party. I know I can do so much more with Flash than I can with any other power point program. Right now, I'm trying to figure out a way to load a list of names into one dynamic text field that changes at certain time intervals. I'm using ActionScript 2 right now b/c I haven't learned 3, yet. Is there a way for Flash to access a word document and load a name say, every minute? I know I could add a different variable name in front of each employee name, like content, content1, content2, but I have a list of like 300 names here. That would take up almost as much time as it would creating a slide for each name in Power Point.

I have a INPUT TEXT inside a mc called "txt mc" and DYNAMIC TEXT in the main time line.I'm trying to display what's typed in the INPUT TEXT (my_Input_Txt) in the DYNAMIC TEXT boxes (my_Dyn_Txt1, my_Dyn_Txt2, my_Dyn_Txt3).Here's the code. But it won't simply work perhaps because the INPUT TEXT is inside a MC. I need to have the INPUT TEXT INSIDE THAT MC while having the DYNAMIC TEXT boxes out in the main time line.

I can pull multiple external sources al la (source1 + source2 + source3 etc etc) into 1 large text field - is there a way I can format each source individually for spacing, alignment, line space, bold type, larger font size, getURL etc etc?
View 3 RepliesI am wanting to have several separate blocks of text appear in the same spot on my stage. Here are the specifics. I have 8 buttons each controlling their own block of text. When one of the buttons (button1) is clicked its text appears. When the user clicks another button (button2) button1's text goes away and button 2's text appears. The text boxes are sitting in my library and not on the stage. What AS functions do I need to get this to work? A Case/switch or For/while or just an if else? I would like to keep from using event listeners(which may not be AS 2 anyway).

I want my user to be able to add a text box to the stage that they can move(drag and drop) and go back and change the text later.
