I have a video that is external, and is playing through the FLV Playback component.
I need to set Cue points in FLV video to trigger other MovieClips at certain times during FLV playback. I have read about them, but am unsure how to use them using Adobe Media Encoder. I am pretty sure I know how to set them in there, (unless there is a better way) but then how do you trigger the event?
I have four flv videos (video1.flv, video2.flv,video3.flv and video4.flv) and I want to play them one after the other. When video4.flv is finished I need the movie to start playing video1.flv again and the rest after it, an endless loop. How can I do that? I'm using CS3 ,AS2 and Flash Player 9.
View 1 RepliesI know that Flash generally has some very good video support.I am wondering if anyone knows and/or has experience with using Flash video with these types of modificatiions:
- having programic control over the video playback speed. if so, how? is there a simple FPS variable?
- also, would if be possible to slow down the video while maintaining a consistent pitch (tone) of the audio playback? ie.,if we were playing a video of a person playing guitar, we could slow it down to better see the guitar player using their skills,yet hear the song also slower but without modifying the pitch of the notes.
- also is it possible to set loop playback points dynamically? ie, to create a custom interface where the user could set loop points on an entire video that would continue to loop on that portion of the video only.
I built a flash player that has many external flv videos. The player functions perfectly when played in flash with the test movie function. It also plays fine in deamweaver when the .html file is imported into it. The problem is once the player is uploaded onto a site with all the files in the same folder the .html loads and the flash file functions perfectly but the videos do not load.
The skin of the videos load, but the area where you would be able to seek through the video has a rotating green barber shop looking thing like it would be downloading the videos, and the videos never load. I have debugged it and it came up with no errors. So now I come to the people that have more experience than me with this. I would be happy to forward a link or swf file to anyone if it can help see where the error is. I'm thinking it is a few lines of code that I am unaware needs to be in my file. I will leave it to the experts.

View 0 RepliesI'm using the flvPlayback and Captioning component/skin for some videos. Works great, but I can't figure out how to have the captions off by default and use the caption button to turn them on for users who want to see the caption buttons.

Hides the captions, but also disables the captionButton in the skin, so there is no way to toggle showing and hiding the captions.
I am importing 4 videos flv with playback component. When a video is loading, I would like an mc to be visible (like a loading mc e.g.youtube) to be sure the users understands that it's working and loading. But when it starts to play, the mc needs to disappear.So I imagine something like this code is a start

I have videos with DRM using flash Access. I would like to be able to play these videos on mobile devices using Air when offline. It is possible to play streaming DRM content on mobile devices but I'm unsure how to save a voucher for offline playback. Since DRMManager is not included in Air Mobile, is this possible and how would it be done?

I have been tasked with trying to create a drawing tool that draws dotted lines as you drag the mouse across the stage. I can easily capture the points on MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE and store them in a vector and then draw the points as dots:
The problem is that I need to calculate evenly distributed points on an ever growing Vector of points so I can only draw the line between say every 5th point (say using modulus). I have been battling away with Bezier curve equations both Quadratic and Cubic but still can't quite figure out how to convert my Vector of points into an evenly distributed Vector of Points without sucking the life from the CPU.
Is there a way to create videos in a playlist that i can limit the views to 10 videos per user?

I have gotten as far as drawing the line via actionscript, and drag+drop the points (defined as movie clips on stage). This is the existing script - I don't know how to get the lines to follow the points. Something to do with ENTER_FRAME or updateAfterEvent?

I am following a good tutorial here:URl...And it uses the following example file to display an embedded FLV movie:URL...I am having a problem editing the cue points. If I open the compenent inspector for the FLVPlayback, and then open the cuePoints dialog, I should be able to add, remove, or modify cue points. However, I can't edit anything in the dialog at all. It seems locked.The tutorial clearly states you should be able to edit the points.

What I need is be able to go to the next scene once an FLV has finished playing. Also if a new FLV can be loaded once the curent ends. The FLV is in the FLVPlayback component. I need to add Cue Points which I can use to navigate with. The client would prefer a minimum of buttons, and thus auto navigation once a point is reached.I would prefer to avoid the need for me to use third party software or add-ons unless absolutely necessary.

How do I go about having buttons display in an external flv file? I know I can establish event cue points with Adobe media encoder. I want the the buttons and graphics to appear and stay on the screen, even though the external flv loops.

I'm thinking of having two invisible mcs and have one align to one and one to the other. I want to make sure they don't overlap (hence why the mc idea). trying to accomplish this without going crazy as its just aligning two things.[code]

Then drag it to Flash(fla), and get its Shape in AS3 like:

And I can get one point of this line which is x and y of var line. But how to get another point of this line?

Ignore component stuff above, here has another question but I guess it pretty much the same as the question above:
Draw a line from (0, 0) to (10, 10) and draw another line from (10, 0) to (0, 10), how to get those lines of two-point form in AS3?
If I access them as Shape then I get two similar shapes which have same x, y, width and height values. Does AS3 has some way to access line as a REAL line not just a shape? or does it has any way I can calculate it out?
