Using two TextInput boxes (fName and lName) which are writting at the same time over to a (fullName) Text box, BUT change the data in here automatically to 'small Caps' lettering with NO spaces. I'm finding all sort of things but nothing close enough.

View 3 RepliesI am using Adobe Flash CS5 and Action Script 3, but I am struggling to do something really simple (which means I am looking in the wrong place probably), I have 5 TextInput fields, I have added to the stage via the 'Components' option, but after discovering how to change the colour of the fields, I now want to change the font which appears when you type directly into the fields when the Flash movie is playing, however I can't seems to find this function. I found a tutorial which mentioned going to the properties panel and then clicking 'Character, then 'Embed Font', but this maybe in CS4?
View 10 Repliesi create a form for order a item in flex. i use <mx:TextInput /> for getting the information from client and use a <mx:Button /> for submit the information in database. But client requirements is when user click on button then first show a confirmation page with details information that client give. But can't use another page or <mx:TextInput /> in this confirmation page, it will be <mx:Label />. After show the confirmation page if clients click on Button then submit the info. How can i convert a <mx:TextInput /> into <mx:Label /> with all properties in flex? Is it possible?

I'm using Flash CS5 and AS3. I've made a form using the library's "User Interface" object and I want to change the font size for the TextInput and TextArea fields but I can't find any option in their properties to change it.
I've tried this code

even though I don't get any error while publishing, my page doesn't appear, if I remove this code the page comes back to work.

As you look through it seems ok but I am trying to get all 3 boxes to change colour. Unfortunately I can only get one to change. When looking at the functions called by the buttons the second box seems to take priority over the first one. How can I get all three boxes to change to my desired colours? [URL]. This is an MX 04 fla file.
View 5 RepliesI'm having issues changing a TextInput background color after the initial onLoad using AS2. On load, I have no issues setting the background color with this code:

However, I have a form validator run when focus is lost but yet I cannot set the background color at that point. For example, I'm trying to set the background color to orange and text to white if the field's contents are invalid. Even something simple like this doesn't affect the colors.
I was just curious about the password mode display of the TextInput control in flex. The control displays asterisks instead of the characters themselves when the 'displayAsPassword' is set to true. Quoting the documentation,displayAsPassword If true, the field does not display entered text, instead, each text character entered into the control appears as the character "*".So, is there any way to change this displayed character, unless of course creating a custom component or extending the existing TextInput control?

View 2 RepliesI have flash create an empty movieclip, screen_1, then attach 4 different colored movieclips to the empty one: box_1, box_2, box_3, box_4.Now I am trying to change the position of one of the boxes with the number of the box as a stored variable. So say:
boxNum = 1

I can get this to work on the main movie clip.. but not on the movieclips inside of it.
I can't get code in my button to change the values displayed in my dynamic text boxes. I have a column of twelve dynamic text boxes which display numbers stored in an array. The array contains more than twelve numbers. I want to use buttons to refresh the information in the boxes (effectively creating a scrolling effect) so that the remaining contents of the array can be revealed as required. In the code below Stats1 etc. refer to the dynamic text. The array is called Stats4display. I'm making a program that draws a grid of boxes and the color of the box must be different to those adjacent to the box. My code compares the current box's color to those to the left and top. If any of them matches, it picks another random number (as the color). For the tiles on the first row/column, I make my grid's array indexes with negative numbers -1 so that it will not match.
